I went to disneyland recently and as where I used to fit really snug in all the rides, this time I had lots of room and even slid across the seat on a few of the rides. And my spine hurt from hitting the seat backs all day, never had that happen before.

I haven't really lost anything except 2 pounds in 4 months no matter what I do.:cool2: But I haven't gained and I have lost inches. I am on a new medication for my non working thyroid and that seems to make me feel better in most ways. I have started back to the gym and am going at least 3 times a week. Yes I have to agree with Michee, having to stand there in front of the Dr's and showing them all wobbly bits was very hard to do. I have been to four consults with 3 different dr's and even tho the last one was with Dr # 1 again it was still just as hard as the first time. BUT in the end when I have my flat tummy it will have all been worth it.

Congratulations on getting to this point. During your consultation they will discuss your desired changes and expectations, review your medical history and current health, and make an assessment on whether the procedure(s) in question are right for you. This is a good time to ask specific questions about the procedure so that you are fully prepared, mentally and emotionally, for surgery. They will discuss the results that can be achieved, They will also go over the potential complications and secondary effects.

I have gone in shoes sizes from an 8 wide to a 7-71 /2 regular. and I had to have my wedding rig resized from a 9 to a 5 1/2. I didn't realize just how fat my hands were 70 lbs ago!!

Yes this is true. when I went on cobra last Sept. I could have gone on my huisbands insurance, But it was going to cost us the same , so we opted for cobra as I have much better coverage with my work then his. It's so worth checking into if you had great covereage thru your work before.:smile:

Thank you for your answer Dr Schulman, I am going back to talk to Dr Katzen again this Friday, so far he has been the one both my husband and I feel the best about. I have had 2 other consults and the 1 Dr we just diodn't feel at all comfortable with and then there was Dr speedy Gonzales, hehehe So we shall see what happens after friday. Thanks Again

Hi, Congratulations on your upcoming surgery date. I hear you about the jiggle and minamizers. But when coming home from surgery you will want to be comfortable. I wore capri sweats and a t-shirt home. A sundress will work also.

Dr Schulman, I have started my plastic surgery consults a few weeks ago. I am amazed at the whole process and how 3 different Dr's come up with 3 different options for me. and the price differences are astounding. I have learned alot of info from reading your answers to all our our questions here on the boards. I always go into my consults with alot of questions for the Dr's. I wish there were more PS's that specialized in patients with weight loss. Have you heard anything about a Dr. J. Timothy Katzen?? He is one of the Dr's I am considering, He seemed top me to know the most about weight loss patients needs and gave me realistinc goals, was very patient with me and answered all my husbands and my questions. He didn't beat around the bush or tell me he could make me look like a movie star, which I had one tell me, I ran real fast out of his office. Also HOW long is too long to be under for surgery?? I was quoated about 8-9 hours for a Extended TT and also a breast lift with implants by one Dr. And then a few days later another Dr. said the time in surgery for those same procedures would be 2 1/2-3 hours BIG time difference. and that scares me that they are so different. Hi Cindy, P.s said he could do it now, as after we talked and discussed how my weight has been for years, and that5 when I lost 125 lbs before I was able to get to and stay at for almost 12 years 180, he seems to think my body likes 180ish. He said I am a large framed woman,(and I am very broad shouldered) So realisticaly getting to the 140's might be hard. I actually tend to agree with him. Also I know that as I am losing now I am just getting saggier and saggier and I think I look worse unclothed then when fat, At least then I was filled out. BUT I am glad I lost the weight, I am so much healthier. But I am a deflated balloon. I would have to win the lottery to be able to get everything fixed. So I really want to get a TT and hopefully a breast lift/small implant and then just be happy with that. BUT I don't know if I can afford even the boobs. For my 1st consolt I did go to a Dr that speciliazes in weight loss patients,and he's in Beverly Hills, so his prices reflect that I believe. But for just the TT alone with OR fee and Anesthesia fee and 1 night in a skilled healing facility the total for that qoute is $11,735.00 if he does the my breast lift and small implants at the same time the qoute is $20,295.00. It's a good thing my hubby was sitting down as I know he would have passed out cold when we were handed the fee proposals. I wasn't expecting it to be so much, But then this was my first consolt. I have 2 more coming up. One on next thursday, and another 8th of Sept. or sooner if they have a cancellation. We always have a habit of going with the lowest bid on things we have done around our house and always end up regreting it. I told hubby, We will go with the best Dr we feel comfortable with and that the price will not be a factor in our deciding, becasue I dont want to go low and then regret because it's a crappy job, this isn't a yard I told him. Don't know if my insurance will pay anything, I haven't ever had rashed documented, I just took care of them myself, Butthe PS I saw is going to submit to them with pix to see if they do/will since my tummy hangs pretty low over my Cookie. OK thats about it for now.
