I am down 20 pounds since surgery and have been going through a stall. I am 60 pounds down since june though, so cant complain...I go for my fitness follow up today and get re_measured so looking forward to it. I have had a couple of fun mild stones. 1) I can cross my legs, havent done that for 18 years. 2) I can sit in a booth at a restraunt without having to move the table.. Its not a lot but, huge for me

Hi good to hear that everyone is doing great! I am so happy that ive done this. I had my surgery the 8th and since then Ive left my boyfriend of 18 years. took my two sons, moved to a new city, found a new place to live, moved in and started my boys in new schools.. Oh and Ive returned to work. WOW I amaze myself. All my incisions have healed over. I am able to eat about 1/4 - 1/2 if a cup of mech soft type foods. struggling to get my protien and fluids in though. honesty havent found the time. when i drink a protein drink I need to make sure I have easy access to a bathroom. Even with all this I am still happy its done. I lost 25 pounds since surgery and 55 pounds since I started....Plus I lost all the weight of an unhealthy relationship...

Surgury is Monday.. OMG time has flew by. today is my last day of work and then I will be off for 2 weeks. I would love to have been able to take more time off, but thats all I can afford. I am so excited my pre op diet has been great. My doc is not as strict because we just do low carbs for 3 weeks and then clear liquids after 6pm on sunday!!! He says he does not believe in the liquid pre op. OH Well good for me . I got my hgb a1c and it is down from 11.5 a month ago to 8.6 now.. Wow i cant believe i did it. I'm bigger than most of you so what I am looking forward to first is being able to see my lovely manicured toes without bending over or lifting my feet.. Its the little things.. I have a lot of others I am looking forward to.. shopping in a normal store....not casing a room when i enter it for a chair that looks big and sturdy enough for me... Water slides with my kids with no fear of getting stuck... disneyland and not being worried that I wont fit in the rides. not always being the biggest girl in the room.... being desribed as the pretty nurse with brown hair and not the big nurse...I have lost 15 pounds pre op diet and 35 pounds so far this year..... I am so ready for this.... Good lucky all and lets all post befor and after surgury on Monday....

OK September 8th also!!! Yae only 12 days to go. We are doing this!!! I find out next week what time my surgery is and I will start packing for surgery soon. I will have to stay overnight in the surgery center because of my sleep apnea! I have lots of friends supporting me, but you can never have to much support. I am so excited about this that I am telling everyone I know. Originally I thought I would try to keep it a secret, but Im like a child befor Christmas and I cant keep it a secret!!!

I have surgery on the 8th also. I am lucky, my dr does not do the liquids pre op diet. I just have to limit my carbs to less than 55 per day. So that has not been to bad. I hate protein drinks so I have been experimenting with different brands and have actually come up with a few that dont tast bad. I like nectar brand and matrix coffee protein drinks. I have only lost 10 pound since my initial appt and my final appt with my doc is today also!! SO EXCITING!!! I would love to follow your progress also. I dont know how to add friends as i am fairly new to this site. but i would add you if i knew how

My surgery is sept 8th also. Counting down only 12 more days!! getting anxious. I think I should be nervous about it but I am just way to excited to started on the new me.. I would love to keep in touch and follow your progress as we are having surgery the same day. today is my final pre op Dr's appt. Congrats on your decision. I know how hard it was to make this life changing decision but I have never been happier since i finally started my commitment.

I cant stand Protein drinks!!!! So I have been nervouse about having to depend on drinking them. I bought a few sample packs and tried my first one this morning. I was a carribean drink from nectar brand and guess what? I dont hate it I can still smell the protein but I cant really tast it and it is simple, just shake in water.. ta da its done, now I am excited to try the other flavors and I am optimistic...

I am from Wa. state and will be having my surgury in edmonds, I just go my date today. My surgury is scheduled for Sept 8th. I am so excited, I started this journey on june 24th, my birthday. I figured it was time for a major life change, i am self pay because of my insurance restrictions so I have not had to go through the issues with insurance approval. I start my pre op diet on monday the 18th. my dr. does not have us do the liquid diet. I have to follow a carb control diet of less than 50 grams of carbs per day, lucky for me because of my diabetes i have already been doing this for the last couple of weeks. I'm kinda nervouse, but I am so ready.... Good luck to all of you and I look forward to follow all of your progressess...

Just recently started the whole process. I have all my appts scheduled for the next two weeks and have had my lab work done this morning.. They say after my last appt. on 7/25/14 they will schedule my surgury wich is 4-6 weeks out so I am praying that I have it done in Aug. but I may end up Sept. . I dont have to worry about insurance as i am fortunate enough to have an insurance that does not cover anything to do with obesity tx. they will cover alchohol tx though go figure!!! I get to say bye bye to all my 401 savings. but it will be so worth it. I am excited now that I've finally made up my mind and will start taking a photo diary soon... I am nervous also and look forward to following this journey with all of you. I live in Wa state and will have my surgery done by dr. Kaufman (very pleasant)

I am at the very beginning stages of this whole process, I have just made up my mind that it is time to change my life and I want to spend the second half of my life healthy!!!!! I have a surgery consult on 7/2/14. You all look amazing and you are very inspiring to me. I have not made up my mind definatly on what procedure to have done. Any suggestions i am leaning toward to VGS. I'm jealous I wish I was ready to post picks, my time will come soon...
