AETNA- MISSING PHYSICIAN MONTHLY VISIT PAPERWORK
Krystal W. replied to D.Lo's topic in Insurance & Financing
So I take it you did see your Family Dr in conjunction with the nutritionist? Just call over to the family Drs office and have them fax those two notes, the insurance is looking for 2 things, dates with the weigh-ins and that there is a diet mentioned. That's all they want, I would not send in your packet until you get that together. I had a hang up because of it and was denied over those notes, it was then told to do a peer to peer review, extra waiting and finally got the ok. But if I had to do it again or was in a rush, I would have verified that and waited a day to send it. My insurance didn't get back to me for close to a month initially and the peer to peer was scheduled with the surgeon with the papers in hand, once they had it I was approved. -
I am with you totally.. I was dreading the all liquids phase and to be honest it was the easiest part of my preoop although it was on a weekend when i was busy doing finals. I cried and weeped alot the last week, everything seemed to make me want to cry. I also have been wanting to have surgery to correct myself, and in fact could not get it because of exclusions all my working life, until my hubby had started a new job. I just had my surgery Monday, and now being out of the hospital and home for a whopping 6 hours I feel like myself only without a food addiction. I am now able to think, and not just for my stomach! I think I was coming to close of my life, where I knew I wanted a change and it was finally going to happen for the first time and also grieving the loss of what could have beens...

I have done that to my daughter's I actually am trying to not focus on the surgery. They know it's happening but I am trying to focus on them.. Maybe just don't touch on that topic. if she brings up it, let her have the reigns to that conversation. My mother was not so great when she had her own RNY when I was 12, she made me worry she was going to die, and after coming home was very ME-CENTRIC, she also wasn't hungry and lived off tuna and crackers, and forgot to buy groceries for me. Not saying you will do this, I am sure you wont, but girls are sensitive to the idea of surgery and change. A tip would be to always have frozen meals ready for her, in case she is hungry.

So I am pre-op and read this. I love you for posting this question. I have friends and coworkers saying aren't you going to worry about all that skin afterwards? Umm yeah I thought of it, but this is what I am thinking of.. why I want surgery.. I want to fit in any old chair, I want to be able to keep up with my kids, go on a bike and not have the fear of the tires popping off. Being able to go on an airline without thinking of a seat belt extender, or better yet going to the amusement park and being next to my kids. If you are self conscious of skin, wear some layers to hide it, and invest in some spanxs, if it covers the dimples and yanks you in, I would imagine it would smooth and pull in skin quite nicely. No need to ever be fat! You've worked hard, enjoy yourself!

ANYONE FEEL DEPRESSED JUST BEFORE SURGERY?
Krystal W. replied to Thinkingthinner1109's topic in The Lounge
I am having Duodenal Switch surgery the same day. I am depressed for other reasons... I absolutely love to eat, or at leave love to taste about everything in life.. I will be going a few hours for my surgery in which I had set up for months, and guess what...it's the first day of school. I know there will be plenty more first days, but it is hard for me to not be there taking a hundred pictures at the bus stop. As for this pre-op diet, it is not my fave for sure, and as I was going through the handout seeing how much time I will be on all these other stages, it makes me mourn food. Maybe we are in some grieving state of food loss. As for you and the liquids all the time, Good for you. I have teeth and look forward to attempting any kind of real food pureed or not. -
I am so glad I am not alone. I have a weigh in for my pre op meeting on Aug 11th, they told me make sure you lost at least close to that 15 lb mark, since the surgeon is a stickler. As we all know, if you lose 15 lbs 2 months before the weigh in you will regain it back.. So i have to figure out which crash diet to do to lose the last 6 or 7 lbs. I have had nothing but complications with getting approved for surgery(medically), extra testings and specialists... Never ending appts! So know you are not alone. Do you have your date yet? I hope it all works out for you guys!
