[size=4][font=arial] I have wanted to get bariatric surgery for a number of years.. one of the reasons I switched jobs 4 years ago was to be able to get good insurance and be able to get surgery. Sadly I didn't realize that there was no way to get it due to exclusions on the policy my work had to offer. I spoke with the HR year after year and since I was the only one in existance in the whole company in about 12 states that needed bariatric surgery they decided to continue with the exclusion. My husband started working with a staffing agency with no benefits, in hopes he could get a position with the actual company last year. I had him get the benefits booklet and worked on meeting the requirements in hopes he would get hired on. About 3 months after he was supposed to transition to the 'real' job with benefits he finally got hired on and converted over, not telling me until it went through. It has been a long haul to this point. I have been denied and had tentative dates come and go twice, and as of 6.24.14 around 3 pm I have been approved after a quick peer to peer review!!! [size=4][font=arial] I have chosen to drive 2+ hours away for the surgery I want instead of the convenience of the more standard bariatric surgeries. I have chosen duodenal switch in hopes of loosing the most weight and keeping it off. [/font][/size]
