    Pain alot of pain

Misery is not a tag-a-long with surgery and at 6 wks out, your condition sounds miserable. Time to head to the doctor. I really hope you are feeling better soon and make sure they check the health of your gallbladder (if you still have one). Good luck.

    Vicodin

Btw, @, that pulled groin muscle sucks. I've done that a few times and they are painful and seem to take forever to heal. However, this delay may have spared you from a potential complication that you had no idea even existed. That surgical practice may still honor the deal you were given. Things like this happen all of the time and I think you'll be surprised at their flexibility, especially since there's a medical reason for the delay. Good luck to you!

    Vicodin

One last time. Vicodin IS NOT an NSAID. It is not today, nor was it ever an NSAID.

@@Elode, thanks! Enjoy your break from school and best wishes for continued success with weight loss. You're a great asset to this forum. =)

Abuse of wls..when it's not needed

@@imsoglad56, Indeed, very obvious from the responses. Discussions are a good thing though. Topics like this provide a lot of enlightment for many people. Happy New Years to all of you!
  6. If your doctors have not ordered a HIDA Scan, please inquire about this. If they truly feel that the hiatal hernia is not the problem, they need to rule out your liver, pancreas, gallbladder and biliary ducts as the cause of your continued suffering. Obviously something is wrong. It CAN be identified, and the problem CAN be solved. I have faith that it will be. I just don't think the right test has been done yet. PLEASE GET A HIDA Scan. INSIST UPON IT. We care about you and are praying for you. ????????
  7. @@nprcowboy, do you still have a gallbladder?

    Protein Intake?! Help

Add unflavored protein powder or chicken flavored protein powder to your drinks and broth and have that 3 times per day. Each serving is 20 grams of protein plus whatever you're adding it to.

Side note: This post doesn't come across as judgemental but moreso inquisitive and discussion worthy.

Abuse of wls..when it's not needed

Fifty pounds is not a lot of weight to lose when compared to 150 lbs, but it's still a lot. If I had known when I was only 50 lbs overweight that I needed intervention because I could not lose weight AND maintain it, the choice of WLS would have spared my body a lot of damage. Internal damage to my heart, arteries, and kidneys; external to my joints that are forced to carry around a massive amount of excess weight; and emotional damage to my mind. I think some people are just wiser and nip it in the bud. Others like me, fight a good fight and still go down swinging in full denial thinking maybe just one more diet will work. And yes, there are probably a handful of folks who have other motives but that type of mentality probably permeates many other areas of their lives as well.

    :::TMI::: Ladies chime in

Your mons pubis wil shrink but it may not look that great, especially if you a very large pannis. However, affer your weight loss journey is over, a tummy tuck can correct both areas. Any changes you may notice vaginal wise are most likely temporary from hormone fluctuations related to the loss of excess fat.
  12. Worried sick about you @nprcowboy. We're all praying that you are healed from this terrible ordeal very soon. Hugs from Georgia.

Is TOO much protein a concern?

Yes, too much protein can cause kidney damage.
  14. Remind me please, do you still have your gallbladder?
  15. ..............@@Cococat, please YouTube the theme song for the Disney movie "Frozen". I'll be sure to use my angel wings to make patient rounds instead of walking like regular folks, and I'll keep my eyes open for that bottle of drops. =)
  16. You're going to do great!
  17. @@Cococat, Bless your heart. You contaminated your hospital issued Latanoprost when the bottle tip made contact with your eye. Perhaps she didn't have her sights set on longer lashes at all, but removed the bottle from your room to prevent you from infecting your eye. Nah......that could never be the case. Perhaps her oversight was just in forgetting to get the pharmacy to issue you a new, sterile bottle of drops before your short stay was over. Even if you've always administered eye drops in this improper way and never developed an eye infection, does not make it right. You've vented plenty about your "stolen" drops, so seek "justice" from those that wronged you so terribly. Patient questionnaires don't do much. Make your complaints with the appropriate personell at the hospital itself, and dispute the charge for the drops with the insurance company..........and then move on. You should start your own thread about your pen & pad suggestion since you advocate for it so vehemently. I'm sure the good folks on this forum would be grateful for your helpful tips. Don't forget to advise them to take down the names of the tellers next time they're at the bank too. It'll keep those thieving tellers at bay. Happy holidays to you and best wishes for continued weight loss success. =)

    Rough day, feeling irate and...

Yep, I totally get it. When I feel that way I watch the tv show "Snapped". Helps put things in perspective for me. All of my evil thoughts begin to dissipate. =)

    Stopped losing

    You need more calories.
  20. Uhmmm, kay. Well, @@Cococat hopefully the individual who you believe stole your Latisse is also too stupid to know that without continued usage, their lashes will fall out. Btw, individuals without a moral compass can be found on every job; this has nothing to do with nurses. A thief is a thief and in the hospitals I've worked in, there are always a multitude of people going in and out of patients' rooms. If you know the thief, identify him or her and file a formal complaint with the hospital. No "angels" here can help bring your potion back. Good luck though....

    Stomach Bug since surgery?

The cooties have taken up residence in my home. We had Swine Flu visiting with us for Thanksgiving, which kindly traded places with the colds everyone had before the holiday. The germs are ridiculous this year. I really would like to spray everyone in the face with Lysol, but I really don't want to go to jail.

    Catheter problems.

FYI: Anesthesia drugs are calculated based on body weight, no personal judgements involved. Yes, obese people get more anesthetic drugs because they weigh more. This rule does not apply to the discharge meds you are given to take at home.
