Bodies get used to drugs very easily. The level of acid production will vary from day to day. I think CowGirlJane is right. You may need an increased dose, a different PPI, or even an additional one on top of what you are taking.

Post op excess skin ?
BitterSweet* replied to stephaniegencs's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Lose weight slowly, workout frequently (lots of cardio), and weight training. People always skip weight training and I think that's a huge mistake. Also, stay hydrated and take your vitamins; it'll give your skin the best chance of rebounding. -

@@jelmore8312000, please spare yourself from trying creams, potions and such. None of that stuff works to improve breast tissue. The best you can do is to build up your muscles. Incorporate weights into your workout regime' and that'll help the pectoral muscles in your chest. If you get your pecs lean and strong, it'll give you more of a lifted appearance. What weights won't fix, really nice bras will. If that doesn't work. #turnoffthelights =) -

Mine were so deflated after weight loss that I could pull the skin up like when you pull pantyhose away from your legs. They were that deflated. When I was on my back, those deflated sacks took a beeline for my armpits. Disgusting! I had a breast lift, no implants, because I didn't want to be a bigger size, nor did I want to sign myself up to have surgery every 7-10 years. Those implants have a shelf life, and even if you get them at age 30, you're facing 5-6 replacement surgeries by the time you retire from working. Uhm, no thanks; that wasn't the choice for me. I am completely happy with just the relocation and not the implants, and I returned to my original, pre-fat bra size. My girls are situated right where they should be, and I don't have to wear a bra either. I still do though. My momma raised me that way. =) -
You and only you can place limitations on your life. It is never too late and it is time to fly. There's a small person in your life who will do what you do, not what you say. You can do this! Btw, there's a huge nursing shortage and nurses are paid very well. If that's what you wanted to be when you "grew up", there's no time like present. =)

I'm happy for you. Bravo to you for all the steps you've taken and continue to take to reclaim your health and life. When issues are raised about medical MJ, I always wonder what the big fuss is about. What did people do hundreds of years ago before billion dollar pharmaceutical companies existed? Before drugs were manufactured? When we pre-op patients for surgery, we request a list of their meds. Some people are taking 25 -30 pills a day! They have no idea what the pills are for! Half of the pills are to treat a specific problem, and the other half are to treat side effects from the first half. Talk about ridiculous, and in my opinion, scary. -

LipstickLady, LOVE, LOVE, LOVE your reply. You are so right. I think a lot people do get fixated on the tag, and if that's what keeps you motivated and feeling great so be it. If it doesn't that's great too. We will never look like our younger selves. I just want to feel good in my own body and be able to move. I like how jeans are made now because they are more forgiving. I can squeeze into a smaller size and the stretch of them helps shape my problem areas. Like those 2 aliens on my hips. #saddlebags My saddlebags are flawless in tight jeans. Just looks like booty you can see from the front. Some people will get that joke! Lol! -

Sleep Study results...
BitterSweet* replied to Aspring424's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
That obstructive sleep apnea (OSA) diagnosis just saved your life. A lot of people are in your shoes and have no idea, and that's very scary. I see so many patients that have OSA and don't know it, and before they get discharged from the hospital, I put the fear of God into them and also inform their families. WLS will most likely completely cure you of this problem, but until then, get your CPAP and wear it. Over time OSA puts a bad strain on your heart (especially on the left side) and those changes sometimes can't be corrected. So please take care of yourself and I hope that you'll soon meet all of the requirements and get your sleeve done. Good luck to you. -
Hang in there and try to practice more patience. You'll need to be extremely patient with yourself after surgery because the learning curve after sleeve surgery can be very hard. When things get delayed in my life, I smile about it. I really do. I tell myself that the delay saved me somehow from something. It's hard not to feel dissapointed about your date possibly getting pushed back, but things will be ok. I hope everything turns out fine with the new tests you must undergo, and even moreso that you have a successful surgery and an amazing recovery. Good luck to you.

Medical marihuana post op
BitterSweet* replied to Mad__crow's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
Uhhmm ok. This poster has a medical MJ card and is able to legally purchase it in the state he or she resides in (California). Additionally, there are various forms medical MJ can be taken; it's not necessary to actually smoke it - which I agree is not healthy and certainly not ideal while trying to heal from surgery. I've never smoked a day in my life, but I have seen hundreds and hundreds of patients in the course of my medical career who utilize medical MJ to alleviate chemo side effects. And it works. I would much rather advocate for a natural substance than have someone throw a myriad of pills at me for whatever ailment I had. To the poster, I wish you well and I'm certain a common ground can be reached after speaking with your surgeon. It's not my place to determine what works or doesn't work for you, regardless of what research or science says. Poppin' prescribed pills isn't healthy either. Those drugs have to be processed by the liver and kidneys and they take a toll after a while. Good luck to you, especially success with weight loss. -

I don't but since this practice is no longer taboo and legal in many states, why not simply ask your bariatric team? You can't be the only person to have this question. If you have the ability to take it in various forms, I'm sure one of them would probably work for you. Was your surgeon aware that MJ was one of your pre-op medications? -
Uneasy Re Clinic's Advice to Speed Weight Loss
BitterSweet* replied to katonaboat's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
They shouldn't be throwing diet pills at you. I like CowGirlJane's advice. If diet pills could solve the problem then you wouldn't have needed surgery in the first place. Good luck to you in whatever you decide. Personally, I think slow losing is just fine. Less loose skin in the long run. -

BitterSweet* replied to Bluesea71's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
It's called Lycra (spandex) and is in everything. Vanity sizing is real. Everything is made bigger and with lots of stretch ability, which is great to help mold and shape problem areas. Buy it tight and wear it right! You are totally right and I hope people that read your comments don't get offended because it's the truth. Today's size 6 is really more like a 10. People just need to be aware and not get caught up in those vanity labels, because they are hugely misleading. To each his own though. Some people like being fooled! -

Honey, let me tell you. Get your gallbladder checked, because if that is the culprit, a full attack will have you wishing for a quick death! It is horrible! They just need to do a blood draw for a LFT (liver function test), and an abdominal ultrasound. Don't wait, get it checked.

Fat burners and supplements

Good question. I have used Raspberry Ketones and I SWEAR my cellulite improved, and mine is so bad that I could see the difference within 1 week of taking them. It was awesome!
