What is the difference between gastric bypass and RNY? I thought it was the same thing but I am reading more things on RNY then gastric bypass like it may be a different type of gastric bypass. I have my consultation on monday and I want to be prepared.

I went to my first consultation and my dr told me due to my gastritis I need to go with the bypass cause I will end up doing a conversion later. I only want to go thru this once. -

My insurance doesn't give me a choice but to use Ochsner Hospital. Dr Jeansone is the only dr in BR.
