  1. From the get go, I had no problems taking in liquids and had no issues with taking any of my pill meds. What I sometimes have an issue with is figuring out when I'm full. I'm 5 weeks post op today and have been on regulars foods for about 2 weeks. I only eat about as much as a yogurt cup....sometimes a little more and it's those sometimes that if I bend over at the right time, I immediately feel my food, the overage I guess, wanting to come up. I've been fortunate enough not to actually throw anything up yet, but I don't like that feeling at all.
  2. I didn't think about it much until this morning. I mean I knew I wasn't going as often I as I had before, but when my stomach was acting out this morning....it sort of dawned in me that it's possibly the reason we are stalled. Let's see how it goes from here.
  3. Congratulations to you! YAY!

    Cheerios Protein

Agree with everyone else. It may have plenty of protein, but it also has carbs and sugar and isn't one if the foods we should be eating until we have better control over our diets, not our diets controlling us. Of course it would be a great alternative to, say, something like ice cream when we may have a sweet tooth we just can't seem to satisfy. I'd say stay away from the Cheerios for now....wait to add then to your diet when you're done losing. They aren't going anywhere...they've been around far too long.
  5. I'm not sure, and please tell me if any of you other stallers have had or are perhaps having the same experience, but I may have found the reason for what seems like a stall. Since starting to eat more foods, but in very little amounts, I mean I can eat about as much as what fits in a yogurt cup, I have noticed that my bowel movements aren't what they were before my surgery. Prior to surgery, I was very regular, but now that we are eating so little, it seems it takes a little longer to process what it is we're eating and our body rids ourselves of it. I said all that to say this....and yes I'm having to be a little personal....I believe my stall may be due to the fact that my bowel movement routine has been interrupted by going to the bathroom less that before. I'm alluding to this because I woke up this morning, pretty early with stomach cramps and after several times in the potty, in under the 224 mark, but don't feel it's over....ha! Has anyone else noticed that you go to the bathroom a little less frequently and perhaps it's hanging around a little too long causing us to stall a little? Just saying and asking Hope everyone has a great weekend! God Bless you all!
  6. That really does sound extreme. Hang in there...we're all in this together, especially when you consider that you've lost, roughly 4lbs a week. That's very good!
  7. I've read quite a few posts from those who have stalled at this point. I think I'm going to make my husband hide the scale so that I only weigh once a week. I've got myself weighing several times a day and am driving myself insane with it....lol.
  8. I guess it's a general consensus that you just stall at about the 4th week :-/
  9. Thank you all very much! I feel a little better! I'm new to Bariatric Pal but have enjoyed it and reading up on everyone. Thank you again and have a fantastic weekend!

DOWN 55 lbs in 4 mos!

I'm 5 weeks post op tomorrow. My surgery was May 23. I've lost 32 lbs in the first four weeks and have been teeter tottering up and down with 2-3 lbs this last weeks. It's like I've stalled. Please tell me the weight loss will pick up again. I've been exercising (walking) but I have neuropathy and don't like to walk....I have to force myself. I read how your plantar fasciitis got better. My dr and I are hoping my neuropathy gets better as I lose. Any suggestions on how to get past this stall out?
  11. My dr informed me that there would be things prior to surgery that we liked that we might not like or it might not taste the same after surgery, as well as things we don't like that we find we do like after surgery. So far, soda has been the only thing that I have not liked. After I was told I could have soda, as long as it was non-caloric, I bought a Coke Zero. I took a sip, after not having soda for two weeks, and it was awful! I've pretty much given up on the idea of soda and have been off sodas for 5 weeks today. I've determined I'll not pick them back up. They aren't healthy anyway. Again, so far, that's been the only thing I have not liked after surgery that I previously craved.
