  1. I'm having the same issue. I got my first fill last month and feel like I can eat has fast and much as I want to. I've had my band for almost 5 months and have been lucky enough never to have been stuck or have any issues at all. I'm still losing about 8 or 10 pounds a month, so I must be doing something right. My biggest fear is stretching my pouch out

    Am I eating too much?

    I'm having the same experience your having. I've been banded for 3 months and struggle with portion size. I keep up with my calories each day in my fitness pal and it seems to keep me from eating large portions. I know that if I have between 1500 and 1200 calories a day I won't be overeating, because there is not enough there. That is what is working for me. I personality want to go as far as I can without getting a fill.
  3. What happens if you don't get enough protein? I know it's important at the beginning, but what about 3 to 4 months out?
  4. This question is for the people that have been banded for several months with no fill. How much can you eat in one sitting? I really want to avoid getting a fill for some reason, but I feel like I'm eating more than I should. I'm still losing weight, but scared I'm eating too much. I don't eat slow enough to listen to my band, so I'm looking for more portion size answer.
  5. I've been banded for almost 7 weeks now. Everything is going well and I've lost about 40 lbs. I haven't gotten a fill yet and I think I can continue at this same pace for a while without getting a fill. The only thing that scares the crap out of me is portion size and stretching my pouch out and missing my band up. Sometimes I feel like there is to much on my plate and I want to try everything that is at the meal. I need a rule of thumb for portion size for non-fill banders.
  6. I don't see my Dr. for another couple of weeks. I haven't gotten a fill yet and was wondering if you mess up and eat too much and stretch the pouch out can you go back and start eating like you are suppose to and shrink you stomach back down? I'm kind of winging it right now on the portion size. It's hard when you have different foods on your plate to judge how much I'm eating. When I'm really full I feel like I'm stretching my pouch out. I'm still losing about 1-2 pounds a week, but want to make sure that continues.
  7. Brand new to the forum, but would like to ask a question that I'm sure has been asked 400 times. I'll be 4 weeks post -op on Friday and was wondering when the discomfort in my port area will be gone. I walk 3 to 4 times a week, but would like to lift weights and try more aggressive exercises.
  8. I went to the Dr. yesterday for my one month check up. I had lost 30lbs since my surgery. He told me I should wait to get my first fill and then see in a month if I need one. He said I'm losing weight at the right pace. Is this normal?

    No fill for me

    Right now I'm not hungry after meals. I keep my calorie intake average around 1300 per day with zero hunger. Maybe I'm eating too much and losing weight anyway, not sure. I might start getting hungry by the time the next app. comes around
  10. I'm 4 weeks post -op. I'm wondering when people talk about not eating bread are they talking about after they get several fills or after surgery. I haven't gotten a fill yet, and fell like I can eat anything including bread at this point without getting stuck. Is it just white bread or any kind? Do you not eat it because of the stuck feeling or because it's carbs? I need answers.

    Thanks for the info. I think I was really asking for peace of mind. Staying away from bread will be easier for me if I know I can have it as strange as that sounds.

    Port Discomfort

    Thanks for the advice. I'm going to the doctor on the 30th, so maybe he can determine if it's healing normal enough to exercise more.
