OK so I got a fill about 3 weeks ago. And in the last week I started to notice I was getting tighter. Then this weekend I was having pain, which I thought was reflux and by Saturday night could not sallow Water. I have 2 ccs taken out Sunday and I could drink, but with pain. Today I'm still having pain when drinking water. My Dr thinks it still just reflux and I have need taking acid reducers but they do not seem to help. So anyone know a cure for the pain? Anything I can take? I'm guessing I'm sore/raw from being closed and I need to heal, but getting liquid down is hard with the pain! If I'm not drinking I'm fine, so the Dr does not think a slip has occurred, also because I can drink, it just hurts.

Yesterday I got my 6(ish?) fill, I've never gotten to a good restriction, mostly I'm tight in the mornings and can eat only a little but by evening it seems I have no restriction. Anyway I went for my fill yesterday and the Doc filled me to till I was completely closed (he put 4 more CC's in) then had me drink Water and of course it did not go down then he started taking Fluid out until the water drained out of the pouch and I could drink, so he ended up adding 2.5 cc's (I have a 14cc band). Then I drank the whole bottle of water before I left the office,I was able to get the water down, but it did take some time. Anyway on the way home I started to feel some pain, and I tried eating a little Soup last night and had a lot of pain! This morning I could feel something was different, but it didn't really hurt. So before I went to work I had a few sips of water to take my Vitamins and that hurt a little and when I got to work I got a pudding and after 3 bites I was done! The weird thing is this is not a stuck pain (I've been stuck, and it either goes away or I BP it out). Beside this is more like the pain I had after surgery, like a sharp pain. Anyone ever have anything like this happen? I'm wondering if I got bruised when he filled it up and I drank without it being able to go thru. I've called my Doc and left a message I hope he calls back!!

I'm planning on being there tomorrow!

I've had my AP large for a year and I'm just now at a good spot. Or maybe overfilled!

What is the cost to get the surgery in Mexico? Is it that much cheaper? I know my Doc (Dr Myers at Riverside) does fills for people that did not get banded with him. When I was in the Hospital after my surgery there was a man in the next room that just got back from Mexico after having a bypass. He ran into complications and came back to the states to get help.

I'm going to try and make it, I just shoveled off my driveway and now I need a nap!!

I just got banded last Tuesday, so I'm almost a week out. Columbus Ohio here..

Getting banded on the 26th as well! I'm doing the pre op diet right now and it sucks! I'm hungry!! But I can't wait for Tuesday to get here!

Most of the support groups I have been to are mostly all women. Sometimes all women! And I'm not so sure about everyone being so accepting of heavy men, I have not found that to be the case.. And the beer drinking thing is going to suck. :smile2:

Just found out today that I've been approved by by Ins for banding! I started the process back in October and it seems like it's taken forever! But I just cleared my last major hurdle and now I just need to get a surgery date and the real work can began! :tt1: I'm getting banded at Riverside in Columbus, wish me luck!

I used to drink a lot of diet Mt Dew, and I miss it!! I am not banded yet, but part of the process of getting there is giving up caffeine and bubbles. At least I'm saving money I guess!

Sounds like you are doing great! It would really be nice to not have the cravings anymore.. I'm doing OK, have my last nut visit this Friday and I'm hope to be submitted to ins soon after, fingers crossed I'll be banded early January. Not looking forward to the month of liquids, but guess I got to get through it!

Good going John! One of the things I want once I get to goal (or close) is a new leather riding jacket. I just fit in mine now, but want it smaller size!

How has the first fill been? You seem to have much restriction? Less Hunger?

I lost 5 pounds before my 2nd nut visit. But I have not lost anything this time and go back in a week! Not sure how that will go..

I'm not but will be I had my second sleep study Saturday and was on a cpap. What sleep lab were you at? I was at Ohio health in Dublin on Saturday night. Not a fun way to spend a weekend night! I'm glad it's over..

Saturday I had my second sleep study and was on cpap machine. The first study confirmed I has sleep apnea and the second study was to see what pressures I need on the cpap. My surgeon said if I was not being treated for sleep apnea there was a chance the anesthesiologist would call the banding off. Also there is a concern during recovery and when they send ya home and you are on pain killers.

I was thinking fills for the first year were included! If this is not the case it would suck..

I hope (I hope!) about a month or so from being banded with Dr Myers. After the seminar you'll have a whole day appointment and from there they say it takes 3-6 months to get banded..
