I'm 17 pounds from my goal. My BMI is 26.7. I was losing like clockwork for months, and suddenly hit a wall. I've lost maybe 5 pounds over the last 2 months. Was there a specific BMI where it got harder for you to lose weight?

I did the same thing, but my out of pocket costs were much lower than the numbers you're listing. My total out of pocket , including the pre-op stuff was $5,600 ($5,100 for the doc and all surgery/hospital costs, and $500 for the EGD). I was more than willing to pay for the operation out of pocket rather than jump through all of the hoops my insurance carrier (BCBS) mandated.

You know you lost weight when
mc1502 replied to Thomas CPA's topic in Weight Loss Surgery Success Stories
1) When you no longer need diabetes, cholesterol, or high blood pressure medications. 2) When you realize that you are contributing too much to your FSA becasue you no longer have huge medical bills to pay for. -
BMI Level When Losing Got Harder
mc1502 replied to mc1502's topic in Weight Loss Surgery Success Stories
I have been stalled now for almost 5 months just 5 pounds from goal, (thinking surgery is the only way it's going to come at this point) BMI now 24.2... but the slow down started when I was 156 so 26.8 BMI BMI in the 26's seems to be the culprit. -
That sounds like low blood sugar. if my blood sugar levels get below 65 my vision starts to get fuzzy.

It's normal. That lump should be located under your largest incesion. That's the location where they removed the portion of you stomach that was cut off. That lump is the mesh they sow into the abdomal wall to ensure you don't get a hernia form the larger incesion.

Why No Drinking 30 Minutes Before or After Eating?
mc1502 replied to Asdf12345's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I figured it had something to do with it washing down the food that was eaten. I find it hard to not drink while I'm eating, but I have noticed that if I drink nothing i will eat much less than if i do drink. Thanks for the info guys.
