    Waiting!

Why would they tell you the last person had complications? Who tells a person waiting for the SAME surgery the person ahead of them that complications? Smh. I hope all went well and you are well on the way to a smooth ans quick recovery.

    Sleeve meals at phase 4

I was sleeved on the same day. I'm still on the soft phase. When did you move to regular foods? Are you still drinking protein shakes. I cannot move to regular foods for another two weeks.

    TMI - Gas :(

For me it's the constant burping!! OMG! All day long. I am 6 weeks post op. Constant gurgling and burping all day long. Gurgling at night when I'm in bed. It's a big issue for me. So frustrating!! I just want the gurgling to stop. The burps I can deal with.

    sad :(

You actually have a FRIEND who tells you you are NOT attractive? Amazing that you have the kindness of heart to still refer to this person as a friend.
  9. I think you will be fine. I went to Italy with my 13 year old two years ago. There are carbs everywhere!! Think pizza and pasta and jelato! In my determination to not gain weight, I refused to indulge in either the pizza or pasta. I did eat jelato a couple of times. I stuck with protein and veggies the entire time! Watching my son OD on pizza several tines a day did not even phase me. Just stick with your plan. I personally do not question people's food choices, whether someone in my company is eating a little or a lot. I think it's personal. 0
  10. OMG! I too feel I'm developing some type of eating disorder. I'm definitely not eating enough and having a very difficult time moving to the next phase. For me that would be soft foods, but I just want to stay on pureed and my protein shakes. My surgeon wants me to start giving them up, but I have no idea how to eat enough food to get 60 plus grams of protein a day.
  11. So my post got into the middle of yours. Glad you saw it. My internist is like going bavk to the womb. So we both have great doctors. I'm sorry your surgeon was unkind. And at a time when you need him to be understanding and attentive. I hope you can move pass the incident and start feeling better emotionally. As for the hubby. Lord have mercy! What is wrong with men? You have a two year old!! I'm glad he is stepping up and helping better. I really think men believe us to be super womem. What is that anyway? Everyone is different, but I took care of no one but me for the first 10 days. Also don't have anyone under 16. I was sore, in mild pain from gas and basically moving like someone who had a major surgery. I wish you all the best and better days soon. The first two weeks can be rough, so go with the process. Most importantly, cry when you need to!!

    JULY 2014 SLEEVERS GROUP

I'm 5 weeks out today. I struggle on a daily basis to get 64 ounces of water in. I'm getting my protein, but only about 5 glasses of water..on a good day. I definitely get 4 and push for 5. I'm still drinking at ten at night. I also drink 2 glasses of skim milk. It's on my plan and I use it to make my shakes. No, I'm not dehydrated. My urine is very clear. I never drank 8 glasses before surgery, but ate lots of water based fruits. Grapes, melons and grapefruits. Anyone not getting the recommended 64 ounces and still able to lose?
  13. Ok, I have no idea what happened to my post. Weird.
  14. Wished I had known, I would've bought a recliner or a hospital bed. My bed was the enemy the first two weeks. But everyone is different. If I ever have my desired tummy tuck, the most comfortable recliner will be delivered to my bedroom before I sign on the consent line.

    Home

I came home ne day after surgery and was 12 pounds heavier than the day of surgery. It then took me 5 days to return to my day of surgery weight. When I went for my 10 day post op appt my surgeon said I wad not making enough urine during surgery so they just kept pumping fluids into me. That and the extra iv fluids I got in the 24 hours I stayed in hospital. The 12 pounds had me down for a bit. I just wish I knew to expect it. You will lose it. Don't worry to much as long as you are ablec to urinate, it will go away.

    JULY 2014 SLEEVERS GROUP

I was sleeved on 7/18. I gurgle all day long. It is loud. My teenager son hears it and gives me weird looks. I am annoyed by the noises and feel embarrassed to be around people. It feels like bubbles that are trapped in my throat. I wish I could just burp them out, but it is now not so easy to burp. Urgh....
  18. I read this with tears running down my face. Congrats and thank you for sharing your journey. You look awesome!!!! Keep going with school. You will get there.

    whoop whoop I'm home

I came home one day after surgery. Got directly on the scale and I was exactly 12 pounds heavier than on the day of surgery. I wish my doctor had warned me about that possibility. I was shocked and confused. I soon realized from reading the forums that it most likely was iv fluids. It took me 5 days to get back to weight on surgery date. When I went for my 10 day post op visit I had lost a grand total of 4 pounds. BTW my surgeon had me on four ounces of clear fluids per hour!! Because I was now unable to tolerate any thing with artificial sweeteners I was only drinking water and chicken broth. Four whole pounds on 30 calories a day! Speedy recovery to you.

    love or hate

Well that's what you get for looking so good in your jeans. Lol. And no, some people, I really want to say most people, just cannot be happy for any kind of succes others are experiencing. You have obviously rocked the hell out of your sleeve. Congrats! I hope I come close in my own success.

    Salad!

GummyTummy, Ok, so I'm only 4 weeks out and can only eat about two tablespoons, or less, of whatever I'm eating. At two months out you are actually able to eat lettuce, eggs, cold cuts and cheese? Just reaading the post made me fell full.

    Sleeved 6/27/14

I've lost 27 pounds to date. No one has noticed. Because I've not told anyone about my surgery, I'm ok with no comments. Actually like that. Also, I've kinda been keeping to myself. The great news is, I've noticed!! I constantly look in the mirror and smile. I love my secret! I'm happy not to be discussing my progress every time I see someone I know. I'm still wearing all my same clothes even it they are now too big. The good thing is I have quite a few things that were too tight. Plan to get into those. I really don't want yo do any shopping until I'm down at least 50 pounds. And then, only a few until I reach goal. I'm saving my credit cards for the big day. I have a sewing machine and will try to alter as much as I am able to.
  23. You know the stuff that Michael Jackson doctor gave him to put him to sleep? Yeah, that's what they used on me. Best naps I've ever had. You wake up and remember NOTHING. I've had three EGD's. They were all easy peasy. You got this. BTW,it's a very short procedure.
  24. Thank God I broke a serious caffeine, carb and suger addiction during the first 9 days of my pre op diet. I almost died during the detox and very grateful that I'm not now on trial for a criminal offense. The best part is I now cannot stand the taste of anything sweet, including crystal light. Must say while I'm not missing the sugar, I grieve the lost of my 20ounce cup of coffee in the am.
