Feel like eating, how do i stop?
finediva replied to losin_it's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
So you have lost 34 pounds since surgery? -
I agree. At almost 7 weeks out only my surgeon, her staff and of course my fellow sleevers on this fourum knows. I have told no one and so enjoy being able to come on here and read and share. I'm seriously addicted to bariatric pal.

19 years old and so wise and already in control of your own destiny. I wish you all the best.

Yup, did one. They hook you up to a bunch of electrodes, even in your hair, and put you to sleep in a really cold room, the ac was on. They then monitor you from another room. They are checking for sleep apnea.

Thanks for the words of encouragement. I'm doing the best I know how, but nothing is happing for over two weeks. It's kinda scary, but I'm in it for the long hall. No other choice. My stomach is gone.
-
Sorry, didn't answer all. Most days I'm glad I did it. The stall is discouraging right now, but I understand it's normal for most. When I'm eating 600 to 700 calories a day and walking 3 to 4 days a week and not losing, I get confused by the process. I start thinking I removed my stomach to lose 28 pounds. But it's done. I have to stay the course. Hope I've not been a negative nellie. Just telling my journey so far.

Not being nosey at all. I feel great. Only when I eat I remember I had 85% of my stomach removed. Right now I'm struggling with a two week stall and just want the scale to move!

Hydration…Watch Out for Liquid Sugar!
finediva replied to BaileyBariatrics's topic in Weight Loss Surgery Magazine
For me the two weeks of the pre op diet did it. I thought I was going to die and the first 6 to 7 days I was a sad, cranky, mean bit*h. But I made it through. After surgery, nothing. I just completely lost my taste for anything sweet. I cannot stand the sweetmess of the artificial sweetener. I made tons of Jello and Popsicles two days before surgery. All is in my fridge. Cannot eat , too sweet. I drink unflavored Protein powder in fat free milk and love it! Hope you find something that helps you soom. -
You are almost there. Don't let the hoops deter you. As they put them up, jump through. Keep jumping until you are in the recovery room. Your new journey to o better health awaits you. All the very best.

Yes, July 18th 2014.

Yes, it will be good for you to attend one. Some doctors and wl centers require it also. It will be a good time to hear all different options, what the surgery entails and ask your questions. Best of luck on your journey.

Congrats. My scale has not moved in two weeks except for the days when the move is to add pounds. I will keep hope alive, because right now my happy meter with my results is at negative zero!

Thank goodness I also said bye to the sugar monkeys that sat on both my shoulders. Sugar and caffeine, both addictions.....done! -
Selecting a personal trainer

Remember they are working for you. -
76lbs before surgery. What a great head start. Hope your recovery is going well.

Can you have a talk with the surgeon before he starts the surgery? I had a face to face with my surgeon about an hour before my surgery. You are anxious and understandably so. You are also probably exhausted by the lengthy process and delay. I know you don't want to postpone, but talk to your surgeon about your concerns. On the day of my surgery I was such a reck, I asked for a valium.

1 week post-op...are the changes I'm seeing normal?
finediva replied to NuLife4Coy's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Great that you are not retaining water. Unfortunately I was the complete opposite and had to be given a water pill. 6 weeks out I'm still on the water pill, ugh -
One and half months out
finediva replied to Snowbird64's topic in Tell Your Weight Loss Surgery Story
Glad that you had a very positive experience. Do you wish you stayed longer to be monitored? Who is continuing your post op care? -
Well have you called your insurance company or tried to look up their policy on line? Also if you attend a WL seminar there will be someone there who will be able to answer questions about different kinds of insurance. The surgeons who perform these surgeries have staff who are familiar with the different insurance companies, their policies and appeal process. I was 230 with bmi of 40. None of my friends considered me obese. To them I was thick. Well I knew better!!
