What was your fat-based nickname as a child, and how did it make you feel?
finediva replied to LindafromFlorida's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
When I was in grade school I walked by a house everyday where two older boys waited for me to pass by. They called me fatso and fattie. I dreaded going to school. Whem my sister pased away 9 yrs ago my 21 yr old nephew, who was like a son to me, became enraged when he found out I owned half of her home. My sister and I bought the house together when he was 4yrs old so he had no knowledge of the situation. I gave her money and signed for the mortgage. He became very abusive when I refused to give him my share of the house. It's the way my sister wante d it. She wanted me to keep my share. He called me shamu several times. Very hurtful -

Who in their sane mind calls someone SUV or Minivan? You don't seem to be offended by this by the tone of your post, so I'll stop being angry at these people. -
GAINED 8 POUNDS BACK! :(
finediva replied to ashleyb06's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Well try not to see it as a low point, but maybe as just part of the journey. A real low point maybe gaining back a significant amount of what you have lost. You caught it at 8 pounds. You are ahead of the game. Peace -
So your surgeon or program just left you hanging at six weeks with no guidance as to how to proceed next? Is there a nutritionist attached to the program you can see? It's hard to tell someone what they should be eating as every surgeon had a different approach. I had my surgery on July 18th. For the first 10 days I existed on water and broth. My surgeon wants nothing else going down there. I'm still in the pureed soft stage and will remain there for another few weeks. I'm ok with that as I have very little capacity to eat much. I drink skim milk with unflavored protein powder and that's how I get the bulk of my protein. You will probably get lots of responses as to what everyone is doing. BTW, I believe most people are given a guide to follow through the stages. Ask your nutritionist.

GAINED 8 POUNDS BACK! :(
finediva replied to ashleyb06's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
So you do know how it happened, right? So just try to get back in there and work that sleeve like you did to lose the 139lbs. Don't give up. Cry if you have to, it's cleansing to the system and lets out the pent up emotions. -
BTW, enjoy the trip.

Feel better? Lol. Congrats. You stayed the course and jumped through all the hoops. We will not be deterred!

Want to throat punch my husband
finediva replied to honeybunz's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
@@Change it up. I also have a 26 and 25 yr old, but thank goodness neither live with me. When they are altogether they argue and get on my last nerve. Yes, I did survive the moody, meloncolony, friend obsessed, video game playing, food eating machine. Love that boy! In my former pre sleeve life, I just drank coffee and smiled. -
@AvaFern. You found my post. Yeah! Thanks for responding. At this point I don't know how to really change it up, but I'll look to see what I can do better or different. You obviously worked very hard, and have the results to show. Congrats. Plastics healing well?

Want to throat punch my husband
finediva replied to honeybunz's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
The first 6 to 7 days of my pre op liquid diet was brutal. I was withdrawing from a serious caffeine addiction (serious coffee drinker). That with the carb withdrawal almost killed me. I didn't want to get out of bed in the morning and went to sleep early at night. Didn't know what else to do as I didn't want any felony charges against me. I also have a 16 year old. Do you feel my pain? Good news..I did kick the caffeine. My doctor told me it was mandatory. Also, sugar....yuck! Hang in there girl -

Ladies being in jail will only postpone your surgeries. Lol -
Ok. Every surgeon and plan is different. I was only scheduled , and put on my two week pre op liquid diet, after insurance approval. All the best.

How do you cope with stalls and how to get it going again!
finediva replied to bormannk's topic in Weight Loss Surgery Success Stories
From your lips to God's ears. Please say it will happen soon. I want to call my surgeon for some reassurance, but afraid I will get emotional and stay crying. That's how much it's affecting me. Thanks for responding. -
My Name is Ken C. I weighed 525 LBS
finediva replied to Stoler42's topic in Tell Your Weight Loss Surgery Story
Even if I had surgery before I was very and anxious nervous. I asked God to please bring me back to my 16 year old son, and he did. I'm not afraid of dying, but the thought of my baby not having me gave me the most anxiety. Try not to freak out too much. I know, easier said than done. They take every precaution before and during surgery to ensure that you are safe. Also, ask for some pre medication before going into the ER. I asked for a valium and was given one. I remember my iv in my arm, then I was waking up. Peace and blessings. -

finediva replied to bormannk's topic in Weight Loss Surgery Success Stories
Had surgery on July 18th, stalled for 21/2 weeks. Confused. Eating exactly on the plan given to me. Getting 65 to 75 gms of protein daily. Getting enough fluids. Just nothing. What else to do? Oh, walking 3 to 4 times a week, about 3 to 4 miles. -
Why would you be required to prepare for surgery, BEFORE you are approved by your insurance company?
-
Flour is the root of all evil. All I want is a tosted bagel and cream cheese for breakfast. I actually had a dream I ate one and in the dream I was 10 pounds heavier the next day. So relieved when I woke up!
-
ok,girl, honest who only eats one? My family would eat a couple of baskets AND take some home. I agree. If we were practicing restraint in the past we wouldn't be in this position. But we now have our tool.

Feel like eating, how do i stop?
finediva replied to losin_it's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
@@losin_it thanks for the update. I'm so happy you lost 50 pounds. I'm in a 2week plus stall and thought maybe you stalled and never regained losing. As for the snacking, try to snack on protein. Cheese, hard boiled eggs, deli meats. The sugar will only make you want more carbs. I'm in a little different place than you. With my small weight loss I am already seeing a smaller person. Get back on track as soon as you can and rock that sleeve. -
