  1. @InspirationMySon. Congrats. Just hang in there for the next week or so. It will get better. Don't push yourself.
  2. @sherry24184. Thanks for taking the time to answer my questions. What a big difference in price! I love your arms too!
  3. @InspirationMySon. Ok, I will be waiting with you!
  4. @InspirationMySon. You appear to be upbeat and positive even with the delay. That is great. So the one that went bad was also a sleeve surgery? And if so, why did they tell you?

    Michigan Plastic Surgeons

They will cover? Awesome! I may have to move there.
  7. @@supriya I was on water pills before being scheduled for surgery, but had not taken it during my pre op or for the month after surgery. When she saw my legs and ankles she told me to start back on them. So, no. No test was done and the only biotin I'm getting is the little amount in my daily multi vitamin. Hope that helps.
  8. It should be time for your one month post op visit right? If not call the doctor. I was retaining tons of fluids and on my one month post op was put on a water pill, which I'm still taking at 7 weeks out.

    Tomorrow's My Day!

@HalloweenBaby24. Hello my love. See you made it didn't you. So glad for you that it's over. Now use that morphine pump, take random naps, pee out the all the fluids they pumped into you, walk as much as able to and finally......hang out on bariatric pal!
  10. On labor day I went to a friend's house gir dinner. I was 6 week out. A lady I did not know, looked at my plate that had about 3 tablespoons of soft food. She rudely asked"is that all you're eating?" I nodded and did not verbally respond. She stood for a few seconds as if waiting for further explanation, when I didn't provide one she moved on. There were a lot of people there. I could of put a lot more food on my plate, messed over it and thrown it out. But that would be selfish of me. My friend spent alot of time and money on her dinner. I have to admit the few times I've had to eat around friends has caused me some anxiety. I have told absolutely no one about my surgery! I was invited to a dinner this past Friday. The host sent a text canceling two days before. It was the best text I ever received. I wish I could just avoid social eating situations for the next few months. I know that's no possible.
  11. I say 3200 very well spent. I have to have a large hernia repaired once I'm a goal and plan to have a tummy tuck at the same time. I have not shown my arms publicly in over 30 years. I hope I can get up the courage to get my arms done after my hernia repair. As I lose the weight they are looking worst. Why did you chose going to Mexico, and how are you feeling? Also did you wait until you were at goal before having the surgery?

    Trip to Japan

You should be able to get tons of vegetables in Japan. Just continue to eat protein and veggies. Ignore the rice, if you ignore it now. Have a fab time. The jet lag....everyone has a different approach. I travel to Europe and I have to sleep the frist day I arrive. There is another school of thought that believe you should not sleep after l landing. Well, I sleep as soon as I get to my hotel, wake up eat, walk around and go right back to sleep. The next day I'm rearing to go.
  13. @flipper20. Drinking my delicious 20 ounce cup of coffee every morning before I even saw my three children is how I started my day. Thank you lord! My job is dealing with people's problems and issues all day long. Yeah.......caffeine kept me smiling and pleasant all day long. Now that I no longer drink it I guess my sunny disposition is all on it's own.

    Tomorrow's My Day!

@HalloweenBaby24. That part about the escape plan, hella funny. You got this. Just focus on that sweet baby waiting for you. If nerves are really bad, ask for some pre medication. While in the pre op holding area, I asked for a Valium was given one. That may of been the reason why one minute I was looking at the guy insert my iv and the next I was waking up! I'll be checking the news, don't let me see you on there. Lol. Blessings
  15. I weighed my self as soon as I got home. I was 12 pounds more than surgery day the day before. I was stunned. It took me 5 days to get back to the weight I was on 5he day of surgery. I know now it was all the fluids they gave me the day before. But no one I warned me!

    clothes sizes - AGH!

Ok, this can probably be researched somewhere on the Internet, but I'll try to explain it the way it was explained to me a few years ago. Clothing manufactures, started making clothing bigger, but leaving the same size on the label. Example, that W16 is really a W18. Apparently this is being done to get us to feel better about ourselves and of course shop more. I have been the same weight for 27 years. Over the last few years I went from wearing a size W20 to W18 and many W16. What the hell? But if I buy designer clothing, I'm right back in a W20.
  17. @@Jersrose43 People come into our lives for a reason and a season. When that time is over we have to let them go, or they let us go. Kinda like working in your garden in the fall and spring. While it is sometimes very painful to end friendships it sometimes becomes very necessary. When a relationship is no longer feeding my soul or is constantly causing my anxiety, stress, anger and hurt; I let that person go from mm y life. No argument, no fuss and many times no big explanations. I simply move on from that person. Trust me, the individual knows what happened and why. At this point in my life, if I have no time for negativity and nonsense. Negative Nellies and Debbie Downers, in other words, joy stealer. ....stay away!
  18. Well my goodness, what do they cover? Smh

    Well i am home

Walk and try drinking warm fluids if you are able to tolerate them. I found warm fluids to be soothing and easier to get down. Congrats on the surgery. Feel better soon.
  20. Thanks for sharing. You are smiling and look so happy. So you're saying it was not too bad a surgery? How many hours? How many days were you on pain meds? Congrats! And Dr is cute too!

    post op hotel

Won't you like the comfort of knowing you were close to your surgeon for a couple of days? I stayed overnight and liked the constant medical care I received. I almost wished I stayed two nights, I'm the one who choose to go home.
  22. @@Jersrose43 were you in a hospital and admitted to a room? If you were in a hospital and moved from recovery to a room I believe that is not considered outpatient. I could be wrong. It's all about the hospital being paid for that bed if they actually put you in a room.

    Freaking out!

@@Beni I would out right ask the surgeon. My surgeon and I talked about possible complications. I also asked at my center of excellence where I had my surgery completed. There were three surgeons. The one I picked was the youngest, but I felt the most comfortable with her. If you have your surgery at a center for excellence they will share the data with you. Some insurance companies require that you have the surgery at a such a facility or hospital. Maybe all do, I don't know.

    Freaking out!

@Holly4fun. Hello. Why all the thoughts of dying during surgery and leaks and complications after? You are a bundle of nerves now, and that is perfectly normal, but when thoughts of death and complications come....get rid of them and quickly. Remenber....that which we forcus on....... So, did you pick a surgeon you trust? Have you had a chance to review his/her complication rate? Is there a support group with former sleeve patients where you can go and speak with post op patients? Finally, on the day of surgery ask for some per medications while wating to go in the er. I asked for a valium and was given on. I wish you peace and blessings.

    Freaking out!

@blondebomb. What as encouraging post. I enjoyed reading. You lost 62 pounds since surgery? How in the world did you do that? And with a three week stall? Sad to say my weight in NOT falling off. I'm staying the course and following my plan to the letter, but it's pretty slow.
