plastic surgeon. Just going to say it!
finediva replied to RJ'S/beginning's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
Then he MUST have seem patients who had lost a lot of weight before. Or are you the first one? Confusing, if he's part of the team. Then he should not be shocked or repulsed by lots of excess skin. -

plastic surgeon. Just going to say it!
finediva replied to RJ'S/beginning's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
Were you let to believe that your insurance company would cover the cost of the plastic surgery? I read your post and felt your despair. But really felt so bad that you kept referring to your body as gross. I get that the surgeon may of had a lot to do with it, but do you really feel that your body is gross? You need a lot of support and encouragement now. Not just from the boards here, but from from physical contact. I hope this turns around in the near future. Best. -
Day 2 of 7day liquid diet..
finediva replied to Carlagrant's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
After you have your surgery you'll look back on the whole pre op liquid diet thing and realize........."I lived through it"!!!!! Most of us have had to do it. Roll with it and try to go to bed early if you can. In a couple of days after you detox from the carbs you'll begin to feel a lot better. Best wishes with the surgery. -
9•26•14..... A•New•Life•Journey
finediva replied to waitingtoexhale's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I actually spent the entire day making three different meals for my 16 year old son, doing three loads of laundry, cleaning the entire house, including changing the bed sheets, washing my hair, drinking three Meal Replacement shakes and 64 plus ounces of Water. Well as I was about to settle for the night, around 9pm, my girlfriend called and needed me to create a flyer for her on my computer. Yes, I do this for her quite often. She was calling from outside my front door!!!! Yes I let her in and spent the next two hours working with her. No, she had no clue I was having surgery the next day. I told no one. Cooking for my son didn't brother me because I was on a two week pre op diet and my hunger and interest in food went away around the 9th day. All the best on surgery day. -
burning pain in stomach after drinking cold apple juice
finediva replied to bumbles's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
Of course I'm no sleeve expert here, but if these are the only two things that are causing you an issue, maybe tummy decided it no longer wants to tolerate them. if you did a test and other cold liquids or meats are also an issue, maybe there is a problem. But knowing me, I would put a call into my surgeon and touch base. Just to be on the safe side. -
burning pain in stomach after drinking cold apple juice
finediva replied to bumbles's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
So you have had cold apple juice before, in the last two years, and no problem? Same as for having steak, with no problem? -
I'm assuming you are pre op? Well if you are, good for you. During my pre op I was starving for the first 8 to 9 days, and I was drinking the meal replacement shakes. And I was eating a small protein meal at the end of the day. I was suffering from carb withdrawals big time. Now if you are post op, that's a different story. I was on approx 50 calories a day for 10 days and never felt hungry. I was low energy, but not hungry. Most people struggle with major hunger during the pre op liquid diet. If you are pre op and not hungry, CONGRATS!

So who are there people who expect you to fail? Obviously not a part of your support team, right? What do you expect? Do you expect success? Then go after it. The surgeon starts the process, but you are the one who will be doing the work long term. Don't start this process with expectations of failure. And these people who will be watching you expecting you to fail.....make a plan before you have surgery how you will handle that.

You'll see a thinner and, hopefully, happier person.

Warm liquids, along with the walking and gas strips.

Ok, so take a very deep breath. You did? Good. Now don't give up yet. Months could mean just that. Two, three, etc. Sometimes we have to look at things that happen, that go against what we want, and tell ourselves there much be a reason why. So your insurance can only be used at your hospital? Also, there has to be others waiting to have the surgery along with you. Hospitals are in the business of making money. It would be in their best interest to recruit and hire a new surgeon as soon as possible. These things happen. Please hang in there. Best.

sleeved August 4th and i'm stuck help!
finediva replied to totally fustrated's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
So have you discussed this with your surgeon? Why are you throwing up? Sorry you are having regrets. This is a difficult journey to undertake. While I'm losing very slowly, I'm trying to keep my head up and stay with the program. My stomach is gone forever and I made that decision. Seven pounds in as many weeks maybe too little, and maybe your medical team could come up with a solution to help you. All the best and please don't give up. -
You are welcomed my love. I've been at the same bloody weigh for the last two weeks, so trust me when I say I'm having my own freaking frustrating moments over here. But I'm sticking with the program, because I have no other options.

I had surgery on July 18, 2014. I get the protein in with no problem, because I still use protein shakes. From the looks of it I'll probably be using the shakes for a while. I simply cannot eat enough. The water, another story. I never drank that much water before the sleeve, so I'm just not used to it. But I get it the old college try every day.

Almost finished with requirements, worried about denial

So why are you choosing to project such negative results? Remember, that which we focus on........ Best. -
This is WORSE than a stall! Frustrated...
finediva replied to Introvert's topic in Tell Your Weight Loss Surgery Story
Peanut butter and ice cream? Really? My only suggestion would be to stop eating peanut butter and ice cream. I haven't lost anything in 2 1/2 weeks. I am sticking to the program. I have no choice. No judgement here. All the best. -
For the life of me I just cannot drink 64 ozs of water. Ugh!
-
Try not to speculate too much until the test. I know, easier said than done. Why is the test not being done sooner? No avaliable appointment? Hoping with you that it's nothing serious.

Day 2 of liquid diet and survived a big hurdle! So proud of myself!
finediva replied to Amyly2n's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Wow, that's a lot to deal with. Good for you for sticking with your plan. Hopefully you will only have to help your daughter understand that her friend lost her father, and not have to get into how he died. This a tough one. Best. -
To gain six pounds of fat you would need to consume 21000 calories. Did you do that? Probably water weight, right?

Today was my surgery

Well congrats to you. Will you still get the bypass at a later date? Hope recovery goes well for you. The pain does get better.
