Miss You Most / Don't Miss You at All

Miss....my home brewed gourmet coffee made just the way I like it.....first thing in the am, in my special large mug, that no one else used. I MISS AND GRIEVE THE LOST OF MY COFFEE. Toasted whole wheat bagel and smoked salmon cream cheese. With my coffee in the special mug that no one else used. , I miss bread. I have not had one single bite since June 2014. Sad face. I miss bread. Weird, I don't crave it, I miss it. Don't miss.....keying in "plus size women clothing" in the Google search engine. My weight starting with a "2".

    Hiatal hernia

No, it doesn't hurt. You are put to sleep, really nice nap, wake up and it's over!
  4. Looks yummy. Just curious, were you able to eat all on the plate?

    Pre-Op Diet Yay or Nay?

@Betts69. The point is every surgeon has his/her own rules and requirements. For whatever their reasons. I put myself under my surgeon's care, therefore, there was NO way I was NOT going to follow pre/post op instructions. I had a two week pre op diet. I suffered through it. Had to kick a caffeine and sugar addiction. Best.

Trying to be a patient with patience...

@devoted04. Is there anyway you are able to go into your PCP's office and get the letter? When I was gathering all documents for my surgery I had to make several trips to doctors offices to pick up letters and test results the were never received by fax in my surgeon's office. I took no prisoners when I was trying to qualify for my surgery. I went after the process like it was my job. I realized I was just another file to some of those office personnel. So I advocated for myself. Get your letter and get your approval. Best.
  7. @auntiemel. Well, you know what it is right? The age old sibling rivalry. Pity that she references your weigh when you two get into it. Not fair at all. But people, siblings included, will pick at our scabs. I believe hurt people, hurt people; as in when some people are in pain they tend to want to inflict pain. That being said, you do know what you have to do. Work on YOUR desired goal weight. Do that with or without her support and approval and keep moving on to better health and happiness.

When you can't even be honest with yourself

@LipstickLady. " I have always found those who are able to maintain privacy admirable and extremely trustworthy. Strength is often found in silence." Thank you.
  9. Well, my face is smaller, but my nose looks the same, I think. My issue is my large wide feet. Happy to report they are still large, but no longer wide. Yayy!

@shellyd88. "The creature I work for".... funny, I feel you girl. Also, trust me your ass will be skinnier, lol
  12. @@gregthegroove yes,@@VSGAnn2014 is correct about the eat more carbs crave more carbs. During my two week pre op diet from hell, I battled the caffeine, carb and sugar devils. I won and thankfully I lived to tell about it on these boards. Since surgery I'm happy to say none of them have come back. I don't know what's going to happen as I get further out and reintroduce more foods into my diet. Right now the most carbs I get is from the 10 to 16 ounces of skin milk I use daily with my unflavored protein powder. I have yet to eat potatoes, pasta, bread or rice. I know I need to introduce some non starchy veggies, but I work so hard on the protein part that I get filled up and there's just no room. Try to completely back off the carbs. Best.
  13. @vsgcrystalg. I don't see the reason for the judgement and references to moral character and childhood upbringing either. So I'm smh! I'm certainty not judging anyone for being an open book and singing their personal medical business from the mountain tops. DO YOU. As a matter of fact, I TRY on a daily basis, NOT to pass judgement on the decisions and choices people make. Because I'm not without flaws, I'm not always successful. But when I'm being judgemental I'm well aware of it. That's why it's so easy to discern judgemental behavior in someone's words, tone, looks or actions.

When you can't even be honest with yourself

@deedadumble. I think this subject comes up because people who choose to tell others about their decision to have WLS appear to be judging those who chose not to tell.
  15. @Cococat. Lord knows there will be no money for plastics with one more in the hole to see through college. BTW, I suspect you are 67 and fabulous, and with a hubby who is supportive, go ahead and get plastics. Until the neck issue, I always wanted nice arms and perky boobs. I thought if I had the money, that's what I'll spend it on.
  16. @FishingNurse. Yeah, congrats. It looks good on you. You look healthy and happy. I've been at the exact same weight for 3 1/2 weeks. Don't know what the heck is wrong. I heard about stalls, but for this long is so demoralizing. I don't even want to eat anymore. Can you tell me about some of your stalls, if you had any and if you remember them? Thanks.
  17. But Cococat, now I have a turkey neck. My face looks fine, but the neck? Not so much. I hope this remedies itself at some point in the near future. I still have over 40 pounds to go and I'm so worried about looking ancient! Sad face....
  18. she's against people having the surgery, and? Why does that matter? Why do you feel the need to share your decision to have surgery with her? How is your personal life tied into your work life? I refuse to have pictures of my family on my desk at work. I don't discuss my children, vacation plans or what I do over the weekends. My friends do not work in my office. I speak to everyone in my office and I'm friendly, but keep my personal life private. They are the people I work with. I don't socialize with them. Finally, why would your pre op diet be an issue? Do you have group lunches?

    Question for my Postop People:

@ I had to start my premop diet on July 4th. I also had the nerve to go to my girlfriend's BBQ. Not the smartest idea. Ten days ago after surgery I went to a baby christening that involved a sit down dinner. I still had my drain. I was not even on protein shakes yet and I still had a drain. I went, took my chicken broth in a stainless steel travel mug and drank bottled water. I actually enjoyed myself. Point is, I'm three months out today and none of that matters now. You will be fine for the holidays. Just sip your water and broth, and smile.

  22. @VSGAnn2014. Thank you for being in my head and eloquently sayiny all the things I wanted to say on this topic. Very well said. My decision to have WLS surgery is absolutely no one's business. Therefore, I told no one and feel darn good about my decision. On another note, the part about being questioned by federal investigators.....hella funny! I had a good old laugh. Thanks.
