    What’s Your Halloween Plan?

It's garbage. Why would I put it in my body? I don't have a plan as any kind of processed, fake, no valuable nutrition foods are simply not a part of my food choices. I can barely make my grams of protein and water as itvis. Interestingly though, my children used to go trick a treating and enjoyed getting all that candy, but rarely ate much of it. After a few days I would take it to my job and within mins it would be all gone.
  3. @katieboo. But why do you feel embarrassed?

    Depressed

Remember, this too shall pass. You will not be at this stage forever. Believe or not I went to a July 4th BBQ one day after my pre op diet started. Had a good time and did not indulge. Ten days after surgery, with my drain still attached, mi went to a baby christening. It was a sit down, looked yummy, dinner. I took my chicken broth in an insulated travel mug and explained to my host I was recovering from surgery and unable to eat. I was supplied bottles of water all night long. At 8 weeks I went to a birthday dinner at an Italian restaurant. I was still on soft foods. I drank my protein shake in the car on the way there, nibbled on some baked chicken while there and had another shake wating for me on the ride home. I say all that to say, all these events involved yummy looking food and people enjoying it. Did I wish I could just chow down also? Hell yeah! But I couldn't. I could of stayed at home, but I didn't want to do that. I wanted to go out and have fun like a normal person. And yes, I enjoyed myself at all the events and several more I didn't mention. I know that in a year I will be able to eat normally, of course small portions, at these types of events. Right now I'm just so focused on the process of losing this weight. Hang in there. Before you know it, you will be able to partake of small portions of the family meals. Best.
  5. What is on your eating plan? I was not allowed soft foods for two weeks. Every doctor has different post of instructions. For my first two weeks I was not even allowed protein supplements.

@Shunshag. You are welcomed. Best on the journey. Visited London 2011, loved it!

Welcome, and congrats getting to the looser bench. What does your plan say wbout consuming alcohol after surgery? I ask because over here, in the US, there are as many pre and post op plans as there are doctors preforming the surgery. My surgeon wants no alcohol for the first six months, if you feel you have to have it. After that I was told to proceed with extreme caution, because I am a few times a year wine drinker. She stared I would feel the effects very quickly. Best.

    Dont want to loose anymore

Dear lord above, please let me get to this point in my weight loss journey, amen.
  10. @BeagleLover. Ok, thanks. No Safeway, but I'll try Walmart.
  11. @BeagleLover. Corn beef hash with soft scrambled eggs is my favorite dinner breakfast. But I'm not sure what low fat corn beef hash is. Do you make yours at home? Even when I have it at home I get it out of a can. Doesn't touch the dinner though.....

    Yep! Just my luck!

@lovedXJesus. I totally agree. It's just a day. I had to start my pre op diet on July 4th. Yep, I was a little bummed. I chose to start the day before, because I was invited to a BBQ, and didn't want to miss the getting together with friends. Starting a day early helped me to get into the grove of it. I planned it where I had my two shakes before I left home and had two chicken legs there, asking the person cooking on the grill to leave off the sauce. I drank water all night and actually enjoyed myself.

    Bummed out

@CaliGirl1216. 33 pounds in one month! Congrats. I agree with the stalls situation. There is absolutely nothing to do but wait. Sad but true.

Miss You Most / Don't Miss You at All

@bellabill. I was told to avoid caffeine at all cost. My NUT stated the acid can lead to ulcers in the stomach. I also read that ulcers/leaks are possible. I don't know if all or any is actually true, but I just don't want any problems so I chose to give it up. Sad face.....

    Should I be worried?

Well, I don't think we should be eating until we are so full we feel stuffed. I try to eat slow enough that I feel my restriction kick in. At that point I now realize I also feel satisfied. I stop. I have gone over that and I get that horrible pain in my chest. I know now to avoid that!
  16. All I can tell you is at three months out, I'm still following my plan....exactly. The truth is I'm too scared not to. I feel complications can still occur. I'm also the lowest weight I have been since 1984. I NEVER EVER want to see those numbers again. This tool is my last chance and the only thing that has worked in 30 yrs. That's my motivation to follow the rules. All the best on this not so easy journey.

    I can eat so much.

@@GummyTummy .Thank you for taking the time to write such a thoughtful response. I picked her because she set up successful bariatric program before coming to the current one and she was fully endorsed by the head of the bariactric program. That being said, I believe she is very skilled surgeon. She spent over five hour on my sleeve due to all the scar tissue I had from previous c-sections. But she seems to be only interested in the number of pounds loss. I feel she sees that number as her success not necessarily mine. I have to continue to supplement with Protein powder. There is no way I can consume that much food. As it is I'm averaging no more that 750 calories a day

    Confused

    Have you tried Google search?
  19. Lactaid skim. I'm very lactose intolerant and this is the only milk I can use. Skim has 90 calories and 8 gms protein in 8 ozs.

    I can eat so much.

My frustration is my surgeon refuses to give me a calorie or protein number. Refuses! She also does not want me to use protein supplements. I am using unflavored in skim milk. She wants me to get what my body needs by burning the stored fat. SMH in confusion. Had my three month visit on Monday and she was disappointed in my weight loss. I don't even want to go back to her in January. Ugh

    Best and worst "compliments"

My good girlfriend complemented me on losing weight. So also added that she did not like my big hips. Ok..... Now she constantly tells me I'm pretty. I haven't really taken offense, but I ponder if she thought I was not attractive before..... Of course I always smile and say thank you.
