  1. @Kitt3000. I know I sound like a brat saying that, but it's how I really feel. I realized she is not at all interested in my daily struggle to lose this weigh. She comes into the room and goes directly to the computer to see the weight recorded by the nurse, then doesn't try to hide her disappointment that I have not lost enough. Really? I will complete my year with her, then I'm done!
  2. My doctor refused to remove my healthy gallbladder during the sleeve surgery. ....I asked her to, but she stated insurance would not pay for it. I also asked her to put me on Actigall and she refused, stating I didn't need it and it was mainly for bypass patients. If I get an attack, I will be pissed off and would find another surgeon if I needed surgery. I was psyched about my surgeon in the beginning, but has since "fallen out of love" with her. I feel she is only interested in the results her "procedure" brings, and not in the process of the actual journey I'm on to get the results. At my three month visit I realized I just didn't like her. Sad face..... sorry for the mini rant.

    My body feels awful...

thanks, I'm over three months and the water thing is a major challenge for me. But I'm working on it every day.
  5. @vanessak8. Thank you for sharing your food intake for a day and for all the great advise. I'm definitely not up to a cup of food as yet. I only eat three times a day. The rest of the time I'm using to get my water in. I have yet to get 64ozs of water. I come pretty close on most days. If I drink too much or too fast I get hurtburn. Yes, I take dexilant. I'll try to increase my food intake, but I really don't have a plan on how.

    My body feels awful...

@bobbyswife. So how do you do you do this with the not drinking 45mins-1hr after a meal? When do you eat if you are drinking on the hour? I've been struggling with water intake since surgery. At my three month check up my surgeon still wants me to wait to drink after a meal, oh, and at least 1/2 hr before a meal.

    Sneezing

For me it's the runny nose. What the hell? Once I found out it was one of the full signals for me I began to pay more attention to it. Weird, but these bodies that we have can do just amazing things.
  8. @vanessak8. I saw the NUT before surgery, but not since. I think I'll make an appointment and go in to see her. I was told 1/2 cup of food. My restriction kicks in pretty quickly. I can only handle so much food. You have done so well. Are you really eating 1200 calories a day?
  9. I should start talking to my food also. At 3 1/2 months out it takes me 1/2 hour to eat 1 chicken leg, and I am stuffed!
  10. @vanessak8. Thanks for the response. We had our surgery around the same time. I was on the 18th July. How much have you lost to date? I've started losing again, but it's very slow. My surgeon refuses to give me a calorie range to follow, so pretty much I'm on my own and doing the best I can.

    It's almost time.

Hey Curvy, it's your birthday! You got this sister! The nerves and all that comes with it, perfectly normal. Ask for some pre meds for the anxiety. They should give it to you. Take a great nap, and wake up on the other side. Love, prayers and positive thoughts are with you now.

help, im gaining, and im feeling down

@rosebud1258. " food choices are a problem lately". I find the best way to handle that is make all my meals ahead and either freeze them in small portions and keep a small supply in the fridge. That way when it's time to eat I just reach for what I want. No chance for me to pick the quick, available, calling my name, less healthy stuff. I'm only three months out, but as a foodie I know I'll need to keep this habit up to prevent myself from falling back into bad habits.

    Hard time

You know, a lot of us are addicted to food. We don't name it as addiction, but it's there. I admit I mourn the loss of just reaching for food as I used to. Now that I'm three months out I feel perfectly normal, like I didn't even have surgery, except when I eat and feel the restriction. Also, my hunger and desire to eat, even when I'm not hungry, is back. I know I will always have to be mindful, or it will be easy to fall into previous patterns. I'm still early out and can only eat so much. I already worry about when I can eat more, as some have mentioned.
  16. Loss 4lbs in 10 days! Had to lose 12 lbs of fluid weight they sent me home with. For me the loss has been slow, even my surgeon feels so, but I'm eternally grateful for EVERY SINGLE OUNCE!!!! Don't get discouraged.
  17. Me either! Not a living soul. It's almost empowering to me. I'm three months post op. Have you had your surgery as yet?
  18. True. At my consult with the surgeon, she stated the weigh will be melting off of me. Well, not true over here. Even at my three month check up, she seemed disappointed vin my progress. I should of asked for a refund. I've made peace with the fact that it may take me the full year to lose the amount I want to lose. I'm ok with that, I just want to get there. But it's a little confusing and sometimes frustrating that I'm not dropping pounds while eating less than 800calories. How is that even possible? Since July 4th, no suger, flour, potatoes, caffeine, etc. But I'm in this for the long haul.

Ok, for whatever the reason, I find this hella funny. I actually chuckled out loud.

    Pulling the Drain

It's ok, it's all the fluids thay gave you. Wish someone had informed me before I had the surgery. I went into surgery at 226 and 24 hours later when I came home I wad 238 lbs. What!? In pain and depressed I crawled into bed. Took me 5 days to lose the 12 added pounds. When I went back for my 10 day check up I was only 4lbs down, and my doctor had the nerve to appear upset at my loss. Well, I informed her about the 12 wonderful pounds I left the hospital with. She calmly replied " yes, you were not putting out enough urine during surgery, so they were really pumping the fluids in". Oh, also, my surgery was 51/2 hrs long. Lots of scar tissue from previous surgeries. On a good note, I had my drain for 10 days. Never knew when she pulled it out. So hang in there. Trust it will all get better as the days and weeks go on. Best.

    Hard time

More stressful days are coming, for all of us. Get ready for them and star ready. Don't keep the bad stuff around or seek it out. Get your, "I'm bloody stressed out and I need protein rich, low sugar, comfort food handy". Whatever that maybe for you. Example, for me it's holding a hot cup of something in my hand. I go with my homemade soup, or at night, hot chocolate, using cacao powder, skim milk and splender, AND, I add some unflavored protein powder. For 180 calories, I curl up on the couch with my yummy protein drink (29 grams), and have all of the comfort, with none of the guilt. So make it work for you you can so do this.

Are you a slave to the scales?

I will remain a slave to the scale. As I lose this weight, that is creeping off of me, it motivates me to see every single pound or ounce that I lose. When I don't lose, yes, it's frustrating, but seeing the same number several weeks in a row motivates me to drink more water. This water issue is something I've struggled with from day one. I simply have not been able to drink the 64 ounces, yet! So I push myself to drink more to see if it will make a difference. When I get to goal I will continue to remain a slave to the scale, because I NEVER EVER WANT TO GO BACK TO THAT 230 POUND WOMAN, ever! As the weigh is coming off I'm finally beginning to take some physical pleasure in the happy, confident woman I see smiling back at me in the mirror.
  24. @shizwiz. Number 5..... hella funny!
