A new me in 15 hours!
finediva replied to onmywaytoonederland's topic in Tell Your Weight Loss Surgery Story
Hope you finished that laundry and got yourself to bed! Happy surgery day! -
Yep! Get over there, take a great nap, wake up, and sing "happy birthday to me". Happy surgery day!

For ten full days my surgeon had me on 4ozs of water or plain broth per hour. Yes, she wanted 1oz every 15mins. I survived. I know every surgeon has their own protocol and please follow your doctor's orders, but stop being so hard on yourself. You care healing. Give it time and donthe best you can. Best.

Well just try not to gain. But you stated you don't inow if he'll even be able to operate in seven months. So, just in case he won't be able to, what is your plan B at that point? Maybe you can start researching another surgeon now, so you will be ready to move forward if you still decide to have the surgery. Best.

Heading back to ER again, prayers please
finediva replied to nprcowboy's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
when they told you of the hernia, didn't they tell you what they plan to do about it? Didn't you ask them? Why are they so slow to move to the next step? Keep advocating for yourself. I know you are not feeling well, and I'm so sorry you are going through this. Is there a family or friend you trust who can come to you to assist you with dealing with the medical staff? Best. -

so did mine. It was all a part of the 9 pre surgery test I had to do before my case was even submitted to insurance company. -
Thanks for this. I love BBQ sauce......of course I do, it's both sweet and well, it's sweet. So I'll make this this weekend.

Name something strange and super unhealthy that you used to eat before weight loss
finediva replied to My Bariatric Life's topic in Food and Nutrition
My kids thought strange....jello with carnation milk. Yum, I want some now. Bad for me.....taking a jar of creamy peanut butter and a tablespoon to my room at least 4 nights a week. If coffee and peanut butter were the only two foods left in the world, I'll be a happy camper. -

Not gross...delicious! Never made it, just bought it from the neighborhood Chinese takeout. Of course covered on gobs of ketchup! -

BSBC MA - BMI 40 and afraid I will not be approved
finediva replied to pato_3472's topic in Insurance & Financing
@pato_3472. Just to be clear, does your insurance require you to lose before you are approved? -
You'll get many different responses about this, but I had my surgery alone and recovered alone. There was a 16 year old in the house in the night, but I set things up before, so that i was able to completely care for myself. I didn't have ave any complications so it was no problem for me. I spent one night and came off pain meds the third day. I just made sure I didn't lift anything over 10lbs, my surgeon's instructions. Best.

Ready to eat the FURNITURE! @_@
finediva replied to GreenEyes604's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
I was put on a meal replacement shake fir two weeks. My surgeon said she knew it is difficult for most people so allowed one shake to be replaced by a very low calorie meal. It's all a distant blurred memory now, but I did the two shakes and chicken soup for dinner. I lost 4 pounds!! Really? I also had to kick a serious caffeine and sugar addict. I say all that to say this, pre op was hell for me. But I'm here to tell about it. If you have lost 31 lbs already, I say OMG, and let that be your motivation to stick with it. I will say that by the time I completed my caffeine and sugar detoxification I didn't even want to eat or drink. I went into surgery not hungry and that lasted for about the first two months. So all the best with the pre op. Trust me, you'll live to tell about it! Best. -
So you are trying to lose unhealthy pounds to be noticed by others?
-
OMG! So funny! I was shocked to see my booty disappearing. Really? I have 30 plus pounds to go. What in the world will I have left? And while I'm willing to fix my girls and my tummy, if I can afford it, my butt.......
-
@joatsaint. Stay home and answer questions on BP........funny!

But why the ER? Shouldn't you be checking in with your surgeon first this early out? Get well soon. -
Rumbly Stomach...Why?

@LipstickLady. Six to eight months. Ok, I'm gonna keep hope alive. Hopefully I will no longer sound like an alien from out of space. -
Rumbly Stomach...Why?
finediva replied to SparkleCat's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Whose stomach is the loudest of them all? MY stomach! Loud gurgling and odd noises that rises into my throat. But never escapes as a burp. Grrr. This goes on all day and night long. But mainly after I eat. It has nothing to do with me being hungry. I don't want to eat or drink around people. When I do eat with my teenage son, he just give strange annoying looks. -

Your Thanksgiving Dinner Game Plan
finediva replied to Alex Brecher's topic in Weight Loss Surgery Magazine
Where I'm going there is going to be an avalanche of food. I plan to be a carnivore and drink plenty of water. There will be no other way to survive the day. The good thing is once I'm not hungry, being around food does not bother me. For that I'm thankful. -
Have you addressed these concerns and questions with your barbaric surgeon?

To Truvia or not to Truvia
finediva replied to carriekos's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I guess it would depend on how closely you follow your NUT advise. I wasn't told not to use it, butvi use organic Stevia. -
To Truvia or not to Truvia
finediva replied to carriekos's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Why did she say it was no longer allowed? -
Eat my protein and drink water, just like any normal day. No anxiety over here.
