One week till surgery
Samantha Williams Smith replied to leeleebaby2287's topic in Tell Your Weight Loss Surgery Story
I had the gastric sleeve June 18, 2014. I was very nervous when I arrived at the hospital. The nurse talked to me and then the Bariatric team talked to me, while I was given the Iv i never felt a thing. They also gave me 2 Nerve pills to help with the anxiety. I am not gonna lie to you, but you will be in pain. I tolerated it fine. The day of my surgery I weighed in at 500 lbs and now I weigh 325 lbs nd still losing. It is a hard journey, but with support from family you can achieve your goals. Good luck and prayers being sent.. My name is Samantha... -

What can I eat?
Samantha Williams Smith replied to Samantha Williams Smith's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Thank you everyone for the advice. Gonna try to eat more, cause I need lots of protein. Sometimes just the thought of food makes me want to vomit. I go see the dietician next Wednesday so we can figure it out. Thank you again.. -

I am 2 1/2 post op.. I am trying new foods daily, but sometimes the thought of food makes me want to vomit... I can't eat eggs, rice, certain types of grilled chicken and beef makes me sick just by the smell.. I can eat grapes, bananas, yogurt, soups, baked snack food... Anyone please tell me, what I can try to eat, as I am tired of the items I listed. Any advice will be great.. Hugs from Alabama...

I myself was 500 lbs. the surgery went so well. They thought I was gonna be kept at least 2-3 days. But I did so well, I was released the next day. My bottom portion of my stomach hangs more,, but I am gonna have it removed next year. I am 7 weeks post op and already lost 100 lbs. I still can't get used to the fact I can no longer eat a lot of the foods I used to eat. But I look at the long term goal. I feel better bout myself, and go out with my wonderful husband. I will be praying for you.... Hugs from Alabama... -

July Sleevers
Samantha Williams Smith replied to allyouneedisl0ve's topic in Tell Your Weight Loss Surgery Story
I just had it done 6-18-2014 and I couldn't be happier. I have lost app 20 lbs if not more. I was nervous but I did it. I feel so good I went swimming for the first time in years. You will have to get used to your new diet. Just go by what the surgeon tells you, and you will be fine.. Prayers and hugs..... -
Hi! My name is Samantha. I am a little over 2 weeks post-op.let me start off a bit about me. I weighed almost 500 lbs before surgery. I felt horrible going out in public cause people would stare at me and sniggered as I walked by or rode a motorized cart in Wal-Mart or Krogers. I am disabled by the state. Since the surgery I get around a lot better. I went shopping just this past week and I wore make-up for the first time in several years. I felt good, I was smiling and talking to people like crazy. I do not regret my surgery even though I miss Taco Bell and other fast food. But I look in the future and look at the long term. I advise anyone who wants the surgery, should get it done. I am very happy with things in my life now.. Hugs to all.

I just had mine last week and already lost weight. Heads up, you will be very sore and tender. I had to go to the e.r. Last night, pulled the muscle under the skin. But I am fine now. I will say a prayer for you. Hugs
