I'm going to start data analysis of the survey results soon, and my defense will be in the early December. However, the survey will open until I finish my thesis, since the more responses we get, the better we understand this topic and take care of individual concerns in the practical setting. First, thank you so much for your try and agreement to participate, and telling me the trouble you had. The height question has two text boxes for each of the units: feet and inch. Your are 5'9, so put 5 in the Feet box and 9 in the Inch box (5 feet 9 inch). I guess you put 5'9 as a whole in just one of the boxes, (e.g. 5'9 feet), and the survey doesn't understand what that combination means Thanks again and please feel free to ask if you have other questions Have a great weekend!

That's fine and thanks for your interest in the survey If you are taking the recommended amounts of vitamins and minerals, they would have absolutely no harm to your kidney even you only have one (the kidneys are super efficient organs!) unless you have other disease concerns. The supplementation is required because your left stomach and intestine may have difficulty absorbing micronutrients efficiently from the foods, and the recommended dosage is just enough to make up your needs. But, of course, over-consumption of certain vitamins and minerals might be toxic, and actually over-consumption of everything is potentially harmful, right? So just check with your doctor and follow up with your labs regularly, there should be no worries

I'm sorry to hear that, and it is sad that Medicare covers outpatient nutrition services only for individuals with diabetes, kidney disease and obesity; Medicaid can cover nutrition counseling for pre-bariatric surgery; coverage by private insurance varies depending on their plan, which is usually limited too. I think that you have already done a lot of research online about how to manage the Addison. ALWAYS check with your doctors, because everyone's condition is different. And at last, right balance of vitamins and minerals is anyway HIGHLY recommended to individuals with gastric bypass. Thank you for replying. Unfortunately, I'm not doing surveys for that, but based on my knowledge, Addison disease is a rare endocrine disorder, so I GUESS the incidence rate would be very low...(?) From my class, the exact prevalence and incidence of post-bariatric hypoglycemia (is this what you are talking about?) is still unknown, and available studies showed incidence rate between 0.22% to 1% in patients having gastric bypass. I hope you have got adequate information and resources from your doctors and the dietitian to manage the complications. Best wishes to you!!
