  1. The good news is how much weight you eventually lose is really up to you. At 6 months post-op I have lost more than any average weight loss stated in calculators. It does take work but I am able to eat well, enjoy food, and I love the freedom of the new me! Life is good for me as I am sure it will be for you! Best of luck as you begin your journey.
  2. Ditto to the uncomfortable full feeling, excessive salivation, and runny nose.

    Hairloss Stopped!

My hairstylist noticed lots of new hair growth at my appointment last month. I was 5 months post-op at that time.

    Hairloss Stopped!

I also lost 50 pounds pre-op and had thinning hair. The good news is that after the surgery I had very little additional hair loss.

    Does everyone experience hairloss?

I also have my hair colored and foiled regularly. I am 7 months post-op with very little hair loss. I did start Biotin a few months pre-op and try to get at least 60 grams protein a day. I agree that I'm not sure how much control we can have over whether we lose hair or not.
  6. My Ninja sounds fine blending shakes but does not do well with smoothies using ice. I have to shave the ice and add it.

    Why gastric bypass

I am 6 months out from gastric bypass and have lost almost 100 pounds total, before and after surgery. I am 15 pounds from my goal. I am able to eat mostly anything, just in much smaller amounts. Best decision I have ever made.

    Off limit foods after bypass

    No problems with gum.
  9. I have a Ninja blender. It is great for shakes but I would not recommend it for smoothies. It does not do well with a lot of frozen fruit or ice. If I am making a smoothie, I have to use an ice shaver.

    Off limit foods after bypass

Oh yeah gum. I do chew sugar free gum. I just don't swallow it.

    Off limit foods after bypass

The only thingI have not been able to tolerate is carbonation. I can eat anything just not much of it. I always begin with my proteins and then move into fruits and veggies. I will have a bite of the so-called forbidden carbs. I have failed in the past by denying myself. A small taste seems to satisfy me. I am 6 months post surgery.

    Thin Eyelashes?

I have been on Latisse for over 9 months now. I have not noticed that my eyelashes are thicker but they are definitely longer.
  13. I lost 50 pounds pre-surgery and was given the option by my surgeon to either have the gastric bypass as scheduled or continue to try to lose weight on my own. I chose to go ahead with the surgery and have not regretted that decision. My weight post-surgery has been slow but steady. In the six months following surgery, I have lost an additional 50 pounds. Presently I am 15 pounds from my goal. As was previously said, there have been times when I might have binged but my pouch has prevented that. I am lucky in that I can eat anything, just in much smaller amounts. I am religious about exercising every day and eating healthy. Like is good!
