    Post Op June 2014 Sleevers

I have skin glue and on my small incisions it's almost gone and on the two large ones it's still there. But I'm 9 days post op.

    Post Op June 2014 Sleevers

I feel the same way... I really can't handle the Protein Soups or liquids anymore. They all make me sick, nausea and diarrhea on a daily basis. I'm either feeling too nauseous to eat or drink or too weak to move on the protein. I also have IBS though. I tried introducing a little of the soft foods menu, started with a simple scrambled egg and it cleared right up. I'm not supposed to start purees till next week but I had to do something. I'm recording what I have and sticking to very high protein low calorie foods in the hopes of doing minimal damage to my weight loss. I've also upped the amount of exercise to compensate. I'll be starting up P90x3 as soon as the glue comes off my incisions.
  3. Anthem Blue Cross in Ca, was amazing. I was afraid of supervised weight loss and diet plans eating up the time I had available as I'm a teacher and wanted to do it over summer break. But I had my consult in April, and was fully approved by May having had my psych, and dietician visits, as well as no supervised weight loss required. Surgery was June 16th and 8 days out, today I walked 2 quick miles. I did go in with a comorbidity, severe obstructive sleep apnea, and a BMI of 50, at 25 years old.

    Straws

I gave up straws no problem. What I'm struggling with is the warm weather in the sunny Bay Area and getting hydrated after exercise. I'm trying to get in as much exercise as possible, try to walk 1.5-2 miles daily at a rapid pace. But it's hard to drink during the walks and I'm extremely thirsty after. "Something to do with the sweating I'm sure" but my sleeve fills up with water before I get close to being sated. Then it's a choice between continuing to hydrate and eating meals. Anyone else have this issue?

    June 16

Sleeved on the 16th. Stayed in the hospital 2 nights and home by the 18th. I've been off all pain meds since the 20th walking and sipping. Down 11 pounds since Monday. I'm curious how much am I supposed to be walking, is it miles a day? I've been averaging at least 1.2 miles daily. But I don't know how to set realistic fitness goals currently as I used to be a high level athlete and those requirements were never reasonable.
  7. I was sleeved 6/16 and home 6/18. The weight is coming off steadily already. But it's hard to stick to liquids since they're so repetitive. It's very hard to get all the water, protein, and vitamins in the first week. I mean very hard you can't feel your stomach if you stay on pain meds and it's hard to tell if it's empty or full. Hunger is hard to identify and you're so tired. But as you come off the meds and you wake up things get easier and you can kind of set a little schedule to keep yourself in track.
