    Official: FitBit Thread

I have had my Fitbit for about 1 month now and I love it. My sister and my Mom are both my fitbit pals, which helps because they are also my support network for after surgery.

You are looking fantastic! Keep up the good work!!
  4. Oh I definitely agree.. I don't want any blood clots anywhere!
  5. When I called my insurance company to find out if they covered it, they told me yes and that approval usually took 2 weeks.
  6. Thanks for the encouragement SparklingBeauty and Carol. You both are doing awesome post operatively with weight loss!! Kimteehee.. I understand that concern of losing bowel function in public. I know it happens to many people, but it is still embarrassing none the less. Good luck with your surgery!!
  7. Thanks for sharing, PrincessM and Ashlee.. Better to get the worries out, no matter how irrational we may think they are, as I am sure a lot of people have these pre surgery jitters. I have a lot of the same fears you do, PrincessM and Ashlee.. And thanks for the encouragement regarding the Lovenox, Natasha.. I hope I don't have to go on blood thinners, but in my Bariatric Surgery binder my surgical team gave me, it is one of things listed that I most likely will have to do post operatively, and I would rather be prepared than surprised.
  8. Thanks everyone for your input. I am in no way letting my worries talk me out of this surgery. For me, writing concerns down and getting them out of my head, helps me deal with it all, far better than holding it in and over thinking everything.
  9. thanks for sharing, Crosby!
  10. I really like Muscle Milk, both powdered and pre made. The powder mixes with water, which makes it very portable as you can get water just about anywhere and the pre made ones are available at a lot of convenience stores. For the powder I like the Vanilla. For the pre made, I like the Vanilla and Banana Creame

    h. Pylori

I was diagnosed with H Pylori last summer, it was very active and very painful. You really, really want to stick to antibiotics and the schedule they give you. You do not want the H Pylori to become active, as it is extremely painful and it takes 3 months or so to fully recover. Plus, if you do not continue with the antibiotics and the H Pylori is still in your gut, it becomes resistant to that particular "cocktail" of antibiotics, which means you will be put on a stronger dose of different antibiotics, which could in the long run create more problems. When you are done with the antibiotics don't forget to eat lots of yogurt or Probiotics to regrow the good bacteria in your stomach and intestines as antibiotics destroy the good and the bad bacteria. Good luck and if you need any support, don't hesitate to contact me.
  12. aww thanks, Ashlee... I am leaning towards the soft cup and contemplating the front closure, that way I won't have to fasten in front and twirl around to the back for a back closure bra. The ladies, (aka the twins) will be fine.. I hope. Thanks for your great video on what to bring, I started writing my list thanks to you!
  13. My post op list: 1. Be able to shop in a regular store or order from a non plus sized catalog. 2. Feel comfortable in my own body and not like I am a big fat person. 3. Get back into horse back riding ( haven't done this in 20 + years) 4. Work out in a gym and not feel like everyone is staring at me. 5. Have my life revolve around me, instead of food all the time. 6. Be healthier, get rid of the CPAP machine, get off of the stomach meds I have been on for over 20 years. 7. Be accepted by society and not ostracized because I am plus size. 8. Take more pictures of me. 9. Go back to school 10. Make new friends.
  14. I have a question in regards to post op clothing after surgery/ going home from hospital. I have watched a lot of videos on youtube and a lot of women have said they wore a sports bra home and during the first 2 weeks of healing. Being a plus sized woman with a well developed chest, I have always avoided sports bras because they tend not to fit properly once you get into the D sized cups and beyond. Do any of you have any suggestions? Are you going home braless?? Any advice would be welcome.
  15. Lorraine.. good luck with the surgery tomorrow, you will do just fine! I will send loads of positive thoughts and healing energies your way!
