[color=#ff0066]Hi my name is Alexandra C (Alex). I am 25 years old. I found Bariatric Pal by simply going to Google. I have always struggled with my weight since I stopped playing volleyball in HS. I have tried so many diets and fads and have failed them. I have a hard time losing and it is so frustrating. My parents have become concerned with my weight and want to do all they can to help. After discussing my options with my mom, we had a consultation with Dr. Stephen Malley at Malley Surgical in Overland Park, KS. I then decided that this was it for me. I HAVE to get control of my life and I HAVE to be here for my son long-term. I hope to benefit from this forum by gaining a support system and to have the ability to come here to seek help and advice when I am confused or frustrated. [/color]

[color=#ff0066]I have always been one to put others before myself which seems to be a major issue when referring to my health. My husband is amazing and I am so lucky to have someone who loves me for ME. He only wants for me to be happy so in turn is very supportive in my decision to have the surgery. My son will be 2 in November and it pains me to not want to do fun stuff (pool, park. etc) with him. I want him to know that mommy is gonna be around for a long time and I want to do things that he likes. I am a pretty open book so feel free to ask me any questions you may have!! It is time to put myself before others for a while :) [/color]
