Good luck! All will go well. Please take it easy for a few days, sip that water, and shuffle around! You're are almost there now! Cindy

My dr. recommends 1 full day on liquids, then mushies, UNTIL you can tolerate other food. I'm feeling a lot of restriction with protein drinks, so I'll try some yogurt in a minute and see. Zan, I wrote on the concert post that once upon a time, when I saw most of these shows, I had a friend who worked for Ticketmaster, and 1 who worked for a record label...so I had comp seats at lots of shows. I got to meet a lot of bands, but was a little too chunky to be a band babe. Some I forgot to put on my list were: The Fixx, Kool Moe Dee, The Waitresses, The Cult; Toni, Tone, Tony. Edie Brickell, and oh well, probably lots more...it sure has been fun thinking of all these! Good memories!

Happy Friday! Still on liquids until this afternoon, thought I'd try yogurt for lunch, with applesauce for dessert! Unbelievably, my scale told me I weighed 244.2 this morning! I (accidentally) reached my goal beforehand...a first! Of couse, typically the scale goes up for a few days, then back down, so I'll wait to change my sig. Plans for the weekend: DH is on his way to my g'ma's in Kansas to pheasant-hunt. so sister, DD and I are having a movie nite at home...Ella Enchanted, I think. Then tomorrow, DD and I are going shopping, and to a friend's birthday party, and then out to eat...just a girls weekend ahead! We like those every now and then. How 'bout ya'll? Whassssup? Cindy

You read my mind, Eileen! I was goign to do this, and I am so happy you already have! I have probably a dozen or so gormer students (that I know about) serving the country in the military right now, many in Iraq. Freedom Isn't Free... THANK YOU!

I just want to say hello, and offer some support. I know it is scary at first. Keep reading about all the life changes that members here have experienced, are experiencing and are looking forward to. Read about the HOPE they have now, that they didn't have before. Slow down, take a deep breath, sip and rest. REST! You are not supposed to be up to 100%, that takes time. Is this your first surgery? I could only drink maybe 2 0z per 15 minutes right after surgery...that seems pretty normal. I could not sleep "normally"...maye 2 hours at a time, then watched some TV, took pain meds and went back to sleep after a while. I couldn't sleep on my side, which is my preference... Now, it has been almost 4 months, and I can sleep like I like, eat like a bandster, but I eat pretty much everything and best of all, I'm 35 lbs lighter! Take it easy. Keep reading. Rest. YOu can do this! Cindy

Zan - your list is amazing as well! I wished I'd seen Madonna, when she was fun! We've seen a lot of the same shows. The secret to my long list is that way, way, a long time ago, one friend worked at the big ticket agency (Ticketmaster), and one friend worked for a record label. Good friends to have!

FIRST Fill Turned Into a DOOZIE
mousecrazy replied to DevilMayKare's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
Kare, hang in there, girl. I just went through what sounds like the same kind of thing with my mom. Is it an aortic aneurysym? (((((Kare))))) A cyber hug and a prayer ^ for you and your parents. Cindy -
Hi Kendra! I"m so glad to hear you are doing well, and at the computer! I agree, those gas pains are just the WORST! I don't remember drinking a lot of water, just sipping through out the day, but I can't imagine why this would hurt you. Stay posted for all the really experienced people to give you some input! Congratulations! How many days off of school are you taking? Cindy

Okay, all done! I got .2 cc's. They do fills under a flouro, and at first, laying down, she wasn't sure she could give me any more...so she went ahead and did .2 and had me stand up in front of the flouro, and said that looked good, and offered another .2. I went the conservative route, and stuck with the first .2cc fill only...didn't want to push it. So, I learned that some people's anatomy looks more restricted when they are laying down, and I am one of those. They cautioned me, because of this especially, not to eat right before going to bed, because the restriction is much more when lay8ng down, and I didn't want that food hanging out in the pouch all night. Sounded like a good idea to me! So, all is well, I'm drinking my protein shake (Advantage) and taking little bitty sips. Thanks for the support. What would I do without all of you? ~Cindy~

"With the band" might have really BEEN with the band! You got to see Led Zeppelin!!!!! I'm enjoying this thread...but I'm a big music lover! Fun to see what concerts others have seen. I saw Elvis at the Houston Astrodome in 1969; I was in 8th grade...I got to buy new cowboy boots, just for the occasion. I'll never forget it!

Banding Sugery 1 Dec 05
mousecrazy replied to Maggie63's topic in Tell Your Weight Loss Surgery Story
HI and welcome! Find the User CP (control panel) listed across the top of the page...you'll find something like "edit signature" and that's where you put all that stuff. Let us know if you don't find it! Good luck with the process...at least you've found LBT and bunch of people who know what you are going through. Cindy -
Happy Birthday! Hope you have a wonderful day! Cindy

Most of the time, my breakfast is a Zone Perfect bar...I love Fudge Graham! Other times, I have a protein drink, and others I have oatmeal with ground flax (I add that part). I also like vanilla yogurt (Blue Bunny) with frozen berries and just a tablespoon of granola. Hope you get some good ideas! Cindy

Just stopping by to say good morning! Thanks for the good luck wishes, and I'll let you know how it goes! P.S. The scale finally moved again...246! Cindy

How do I tell my family that I have had surgery?
mousecrazy replied to Apryl Showers's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
Yu should do what you feel is best for you. Since you asked for input, though, I will share with you that I am like Vines...I say "I had lapband surgery in July." I want others to know there is a way out of their obesity problem. I've had several people ask me about it, and I am happy to tell them. Like someone said, though, it is purely up to you whether you want people to know or not. Good luck with your decision, Cindy -

Pat, you are a very beautiful woman! And I love the red hat/purple dress crew! Y'all make quite a formidable gang! Beanie, it's one more day closer to Friday. I am so impressed with your dedication to the gym. It is very inspiring! Zan, coffee keeps me up if I drink it late in the day, too...but Starbucks is often worth it! Hope you got some sleep. Lisa, good luck with your goal...it is so hard to give up soda, AND to quit eating at night! You can do it! Eileeeeeeen, can you come help me with my computer room...and the rest of the house! Why is it more fun to clean at other people's homes, than it is to clean our own mess? Just wondering.... Beautiful day, tomorrow is 2nd fill (ya'll are probably sick of hearing about it, but it was a big decision for me...) Life is good. Cindy

Today is the BIG DAY, A NEW LIFE! ANY ADVICE?
mousecrazy replied to rpaniagua77's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
Glad to hear everything went fine. Take it easy, although I see that will be difficult with 3 kids...I have 1 and can barely do everything! Cindy -
Wishes for a smooth surgery and healthy recovery! Cindy
-
Congrat, Kat! I'm glad to hear all is well, and I hope you are resting and sipping your water! Cindy

Freaky! Creepy! I've already got 3 dogs, or I'd think about it.

Welcome, and I like the simplicity of your question. For me, only 4 months out and still a bit of a newbie, it works. It is not instantaneous...it is not always dramatic...but slowly, and mostly steadily, the weight is lost. I've learned not to rely on my old enemy, the scale, and I've learned not to rely on my old friend, food. The batle is not won in one fell swoop...it is won one small decision at a time, and the band gives you the time. Keep reading, keep asking, and you will make the right decision for you. Good luck, Cindy
