Really good friends almost always know...even if they don't say so. I hope you will enjoy their support, and also what you learned: it is okay to be yourself, always. Cindy

Dear Penni, Oh, Goddess of Editing Images: You would laugh to know how long I have tried to resize this image to make it my avatar. I even know how to change my avatar on the CP...but I can't figure out how to resize it any smaller than it is now. Your hunble servant beseeches thee to wave your magic wand over this image, and allow it to be used as my avatar. Pretty please? Thank you sooooo much, Cindy

I just got over a bad cold, and I think what helped the most, besides just time, was Cold-Eeze...I got the "melt in your mouth" version...the zinc supposedly does wonders. I also used Tylenol Liquid Sore Throat version. I'm sorry you are sick...it's miserable. Hope you feel better soon! Cindy

Of course, taste is personal, but I'll try to give you some ideas. Brown jeans look great with black! Try a denim shirt or a chambray shirt. Some colors of green, like olive, look good, too. Get a vest that has brown as one of the colors, then wear it over a coordinating t-shirt (long-sleeved) with the brown jeans. A rust orange or burnt orange will look good, too. Maybe find you a cute fall-themed shirt... I bet is has brown in it! That's all I can think of for now...have fun! Cindy

Ray, you are sooooo popular! Doll started another birthday thread, so if you find this one, look for that one! Cindy

Penni, you are such a powerful goddess that you have assistants just waiting to hear the call! Kelly Girl, thank you, thank you, thank you! And also, thanks for the compliment! It is amazing what new glasses and a few missing pounds can do for your attitude! Now, if I only knew how to resize images, for myself...I use Kodak EasyShare, and Fuji FinePix Viewer, and neither one seem to make the job easy... Thanks again! Cindy

You are a super success story! Boy, do I remember the long threads and struggle you were going through, not that long ago! You are absolutely an inspiration! Congratulations! Cindy

You've got an interesting story...and glad you found LBT! You have any questions? Just ask! We're with you, all the way! Cindy

Glad to hear your good news, Carolyn! It will only get better and better...be sure to cme here for info, advise, news, and hugs! Take it easy, and sip, sip, sip...walk around some, too! Here's to your quick and speedy healing! Cindy

Down in front, Doll! I can't see the show with you dancing and singing in front of me like that!!! Your DH would do a good thing for himself to learn to like Prince, I think! Wink, wink! It is great to talk with the music lovers! I have thoroughly enjoyed all lists and posts on this topic!

To fill or not to fill-that is the question :)
mousecrazy replied to Rockin' Robyn's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
It is so hard to advise someone on what fill is right for them...like for me, I asked about a 2nd fill, and hesitated quite a while, even after others encouraged me to go ahead. I think my head wasn't "banded" enough, then, I decided to go for it. That was only 3 days ago...I don't know if it is possible for fills to give us restriction in our heads...we are still going to have to take charge of it and work the band. Your weight loss looks really good...so maybe just learn to work the fill you have now for a little while, and rethink it in a couple of weeks? It is just so personal to your own experience, I'm not sure what kind of advice to give...or maybe I'm too new, too! Good luck, Cindy -
:) Happy Birthday to You!

Good morning to you all! DD and I had a great day yesterday...shopping at Toys R Us and Target, so she could spend her gift cards...then to the big mall (well, one of them!), where we certainly were surprised! One of the radio stations was having a little concert/promo and some teen throb named Bryan Cabrera ( I think!) was performing...DD's introduction to squealing and screaming girls! She took it in stride, and watched for a little while. I stood behind her and screamed when the girls did. She rolled her eyes, and said, "Come on, Mom, the stores are probably empty" Cracked me up! Then she had a birthday party to go to, and I went shopping at Steinmart...then home and spent the evening playing a game on the computer called Hexic, which is addictive! Just reg. household stuff planned for today...a lazy day. DH will be home this eve from his hunting trip. Pat, enjoy the beach! Eileen, have a great day! Betty, hope you have a good ride...looks like a good day for it. Others...waiting to hear about your weekend. Cindy

Amazing! Work it, girl, work it! Congratulations!

Ah-ha! Ray, you are from DFW! That's sweet that you and DW met at a concert...I wasn't married when I went to 90% of the concerts I mentioned, but we do enjoy some shows...I like the alternative rock music, but just can't tolerate the unruly crowds like I once did....so, we miss those shows. We joke that now, the crowds at shows like Steely Dan stand and wave their canes and walkers, instead of lighting joints and holding lighters above their heads! LOL!

Congratulations, Margo! That's a super feeling! Revel in it! Cindy

Welcome to LBT! You'll like it around here, and we are always glad to have another guy on the boards! Good luck, and feel better soon! Cindy

Ray, OMG! You win, Dude! Hey, if you saw Edie Brickell and the New Bohemians, does that mean you are/were in the Dallas area? I used to see them all the time in Deep Ellum. On the top of my wish list is The Eagles...DH and I have made a pact to see them, whatever the cost. Waiting on the Farewell Tour to come through Texas. I bet Gwen Stefani was fun, Kimalicious, and the Black Eyed Peas were with her, weren't they? My wish list would have Prince and The Time on it! (Bowing down) Ray is the Concert Master! Cindy

Needing a hug and a kick in the pants...long posts
mousecrazy replied to banded_for_life's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
I am so sorry for your loss. (((hugs))) and a prayer ^ coming your way. The women in our lives are so important, and it hurts to lose them. She was a great lady, and she taught you to be a great lady. God bless her and you. Cindy -
Beanie, let's just wait and see if you get a letter...maybe they don't tell anything over the phone if it is not an "offical" person...it would make sense that only certain people are allowed to tell clients stuff. Stupid, but probably true. I saw on another thread that you are looking into a lawyer, and that may be a good idea. What have you found out about that? Keep working. I firmly believe that where there's a will, there's a way. Sometimes there is no short-cut, but there's a way! I'm on my way to bed...we watched Ella Enchanted, then sang a few songs on the karaoke machine, and had a blast! None of us are any good...but DD might be, if she only knew the words and songs better! Lots of fun! Tonite I had mashed potatoes, and some Chex Mix, and all is good. I'll be back on solids again tomorrow, but nothing too strenuous. I can tell I have more restriction than I did before the fill...DUH. I guess that IS obvious, huh? Good night, all. Beanie, call me if you need a Chin-up-cheer-up talk! Pm or email me and I'll send you my number. Cindy

You gotta do what you gotta do. It is a health issue, and you can't mess around with that. Everything will be okay. You take care of yourself, and let us know how you are doing! Cindy
-
Try sugar-free popsicles, too! Nice and wet and sweet! Gaviscon or Gas-X or simethicone drops for babies can help with the gas, but the ultimate healer is time...it'll seem like a distant memory in no time! Hang in there! Cindy

Kelly Girl, I noticed! And I send my thanks out again, for anyone who didn't see them before. Thank you, thank you, thank you!

Hi Angelburch, I live north of DFW in the Denton area, and Dr. Marsden did my surgery. His office is in Lewisville and he uses the Hurst Surgery Center. I am very happy with him. You will probably use someone in the same group as he is in, but based out of Richardson? There is so many suggestions, so much advice, etc., on this board, I can't even begin to tell you! Search past posts, and read through everything.....if you want to know about pre-op, search that term and see what you find. If you have some specific questions, ask away! Welcome! Glad you found us! Cindy

Hi Schel! I try to get 60 grams of protein a day, and stay around 1500 calories. Right at first, the first week after banding, i had to work at getting more than 500. That slowly changes, you heal, and then you can eat more and different foods. Then you realize you need a fill. I drink coffee every day. NO sodas. They just don't like me anymore. I'm a beginner, so pretty far off from goal...so can't help you there. Also, I no longer drink, so you'll have to taket he advice of Pat on that one! Glad you are here, and read all the past posts you can...I learned so much here, and still do, every day! Cindy
