    Post Op June 2014 Sleevers

Hello I was sleeved June 13. I have been doing ok until this week. I can't eat hardly anything let alone get enough protein. I am in the mushy stage. What brought me joy (eating) in the past now gives me anxiety. I can't imagine going out to eat with friends when I am uncomfortable eating with my family. . I still find myself pouring a glass of water with meals out of habit only to remember I can't drink with meals. My pathology report showed I have H.pylori which is a common stomach bacteria. I am not sure if treating it now is a good idea since I have such a weak stomach and can't imagine taking antibiotics. I have difficulty taking my meds already. Anyone have any of these issues?
  2. Hello I had a great sleeve experience with Dr. Aceves on June 16. Can you please tell me what are your follow up plans with a local bariatric specialist in the us now that you are home? Did you have any trouble since you had the surgery in Mexico? I am asking this because I was in the ER two nights ago (internal hemorrhoid not related to surgery) and the ER doctor was asking me all sorts of questions as to my aftercare I have planned now that I am home. He made it clear to me that although I can get a referral to a bariatric specialist, the doctor may not accept me as a patient since I had surgery in Mexico . Thoughts?
  3. I searched for information on this forum and online for information on the topic. I found nothing and that is why I am sharing my story. I had my sleeve surgery Monday, June 16 and everything has been going great. I am happy to report the scare last night had nothing to do with the surgery itself but rather a bad case of internal hemmorhoids. I finally had a bowel movement yesterday and though I was bleeding internally when I looked down and saw a large amount of blood in the toilet. I rushed to the ER and underwent blood tests, and even a rectal exam. Ugh. Turns out it was internal hemorrhoids. The doctor prescribed a suppository and I am doing just fine. I am looking forward to the next phase of the post op diet - since I had a hiatal hernia, I have to remain on phase 1 for 15 days, not 10. Any suggestions as to why? That is the one question I forgot to ask my doctor. Thanks!
  4. Hello I had surgery five days ago and have a question.... Is anyone taking antibiotics? I was surprised I was not prescribed any considering the incisions. What about pain? I can tell you that the pain does not compare to when I had a C-section but I have very few painkillers - just in case. What pain medications are others taking? Getting 60-70 g of Protein a day on a clear liquid diet is tough! Thanks so much
