Hey Sweetums!Sorry about the reflux! I've been good with that. I've hit a few stalls but as long as I'm losing and not gaining I'm ok with the stalls here and there. I actually have gotten a few emails from the clinic, surveys and something about their follow up program but I haven't done anything with them. You might want to call or email them and let them know your not getting any follow up stuff. Hope the stronger meds work!Take care, gotta get to work! We'll talk soon! -

Oh and please don't take it wrong about the comment "I would never have gotten the sleeve". That was for myself in my situation with the amount of weight I needed to loose. The sleeve is also a great tool and people do very well. Each person has to pick the surgery that's right for them and their situation. Only you and your Dr should decide what's best for you.

Hi lene! I can tell you I had my Plication on July 23,2014 with Dr Ariel Ortiz. My weight loss goal was about 65 to 50 lbs. I am doing really well. I feel good too. I kept wavering on the Plication or sleeve, when I got there he said, why didn't you call me? He was upset that I was listening to all these people that really didn't know what they were talking about instead of coming to him with my questions. We talked for a bit and after our conversation about Plication versus sleeve there is no way I would have gotten the sleeve. He couldn't stress enough the importance of stomach sparing. He is actually speaking very soon at some big world conference about the Plication surgery. After a year he said you could put a Plication patient and a sleeve patient side by side and without knowing who they were he could pick the Plication patient every time because their appearance was healthier looking. My advise to you is to stop reading so much because you start confusing yourself after a while. Everyone has an opinion. Call Dr Ortiz! Talk to him before your surgery. I read scary tells about the Plication, even his procedure on the sutures is done differently than most surgeons, he also takes into consideration the condition of the stomach tissue, if it could become compromised due to poor condition he will anchor it so there is a much less chance the sutures would come out or rupture. He is truely amazing and knows what he's doing! Trust him and listen to him. That's my advise. You are welcome to ask me all the questions you want. Wishing you all the best! Jessie

Hey Sweetums! How are you doing? Have been so busy I haven't had a chance to get on and see what everyone is doing. I'm doing well. Had a couple of bad days with diet change. But I think I got it under control now. I did well yesterday. I had about a 6 day stall but I am back to losing again. Down 22 lbs so far. What's been going on with you? Take care! Jessie -

I am 8 days post op and doing good! Down 19 lbs and loving it! I was originally going to do the Plication and then after reading too much I decided on the sleeve, once with Dr Ariel Ortiz he was so amazing in his care and knowledge of what was best for me. Also, the difference between the way he does Plication and the way some other Drs do it made me realize it was the best choice for me. I am very happy with my decision of surgeon and surgery! Dr A Ortiz will be going soon to a world conference to speak about the Gastric Plication. -

Looking for July Sleevers!

Doing great. Lost ten this week. Still a little gas misery but not bad. Yes, you may be pushing it a little.(Lot) I went to the group home that I run, Monday and haven't been back. Worried about when I can return to my job at fedex. Very fast paced. I start out feeling no energy at all in the morning but much better in the evening after getting down a Protein shake and soup. Sick of liquids but my wife made me some really good soup and the "Better Than Bullion" broth helps with a little flavor too. sugar free popsicles give me something to actually chew on. It is staying in the hundreds everyday out here on the left coast so not walking at all. Just got the treadmill uncovered and will be on it tonight, Lord willing. Can't sleep at night much for some reason. Got my days and nights mixed up I guess. Hearing how you and others are doing helps too even though I am much older than most of you. Lord Bless Don't feel alone, I'm still having gas as well... Go figure! I've been having creamed Soups, liquid drinkable yogurts, sherbet, Protein shakes, crystal light, almond milk etc. another week and I get apple sauce, puréed foods, can't wait for the change. Although I can't get down more than an ounce at a time. Now Mick, I'll be 50 September 1... So I'm no spring chicken either! Lol sorry to hear your not sleeping well, for once I am not having that problem! It's been really hot and humid here in Texas as well. Keep moving forward, your doing great! -

Hey Mick! How are you doing? I'm a week out today as well. So far I'm down a total of 19 lbs. Still having some gas pains and lots of tummy gurgling. I went back to work on Sunday, thinking I might have tried too soon. -

I had surgery with Dr Ariel Ortiz last week and he told my parents I did not have any hernias and I was not charged any extra for anything. Nor was anyone else that was there that day. He's the best. -

Hi Sweetums! Sitting in the San Diego airport waiting to board my flight home. All is well. The worst part has been the gas and sore throat. I just can't wait till life goes back to normal. Thanks for all the prayers. -
