Tomorrow is my day. Getting very nervous!
Texas Jess replied to mi75's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Prayers for all three of you having the surgery over the next couple of days. Let us know how you all are afterwards! -
Gardnergirl2, I am having the Plication done next month but both of my sisters have had the LapBand. The first sister has had hers for 5 years. It took her months to a year to find her "sweet spot" with her fills. Once she did she started loosing and was able to eat what she wanted in very small amounts. She has looked amazing ever since. The other sister has had hers for over a year and really never has follow orders to the T, she's been back and forth on fills ( not enough, too much) and she finally started loosing after a year and said she found her sweet spot. She was looking amazing and then after a few weeks she told us she was miserable and hated not being able to eat when other were. That's the point right?? Lol She went and had her fill removed and her weight is back on the rise. So my point is 22lbs is amazing!! And if you only eating a third of what you did before than that's great. IMO I think it's unhealthy from my readings to loose more than 5 lbs a month. Don't be discouraged you are doing great!

Hi I'm Jessie, 49 yrs, 160lbs, 4'11" and I'm having the Plication at OCC Tijuana with Dr. A Ortiz and Dr Martinez on July 23rd. After much research, and family and friends first hand experience I decided to use OCC. -

Looking for July Sleevers!

CandyPants81, I chose the Plication because the patient coordinator said that would probably be the best choice since I just needed to lose 50 lbs. the trouble I always have is keeping it off and now I have just been diagnosed with Diebetes. Like I said both sisters have bands and I'm not impressed with the outcome. I was going to do the sleeve till I talked to the coordinator. I did some reading and it seemed less invasive so I just chose that one. I'm actually still a bit on the fence about it. -
Dr. Ariel Ortiz at the OCC

I am going to the OCC on July 23rd. Both my sisters had LapBand with Dr Ortiz and had great care. I just don't want to have to mess with fills and unfills. One of my sisters got really sick with the flu and coughed so much her band started slipping. It's still ok but she can't get a fill till she she has it fixed. I just don't want the hassle of all that. The slipped band sister has had hers for 5 years and looks amazing, the other sister just got hers last year and has lost weight but is still trying to get her sweet spot on her fills. I just hope I am picking the right procedure for me. -
