I am a school teacher in Michigan who has wanted to have bypass surgery for at least 6 years. I am finally doing it this week if all goes as planned. I am scheduled to have a vertical sleeve on Thursday June 26, 2014. But have a severe case of poison ivy that might cause the surgery to be postponed a few weeks. I will find out for sure on Monday. I am currently in my pre-op diet and doing well with it.

It is my hope that this site will not only offer suggestions and advise but support as I travel through this journey. I think that having a support system in place is the most important part of the journey and will help me to be more successful.
