I personally love the sex threads! My sex life has definatley improved since being banded. I even did a little dirty dancing for my hubby earlier tonight!
-
When I first got banded I thought that b/c I couldn't eat as much I could eat whatever I wanted - that did NOT work. It took 3 fills, 3 months, eating healthy, and exersizing to lose, and even still I'm only losing at 1.2 lbs per week! You'll get there. I had hardly and restriction after my 1st fill. Just make sure you eat healthy, and exersize, and you'll get fills and you'll be fine. Plus, when you imagine what 7 lbs of fat looks like you'll realize that ANY loss is and achievement, and that the band just has to be fine tuned and that takes time. Keep your chin up!

I know I need an unfill but my jerk off doctor won't do it, and I don't have 100 bucks to go to another doc!
-
GRRR, I keep trying to re-size this so it's not all ginormous! Anyways, my photo NSV is the fact that I even let people take my pic now. This is the sexiest pic I have since you can see my bra (I think I had one too many cosmopolitans this weekend!)

I never had a PB until my 2nd fill and I rarely had them then but since I got the 3rd one I have 3-5 per week. I am trying to chew alot and eat slow and everything but &*%$#ing doctor Mease wont unfill me b/c he thinks I need MORE fill and blames it all on me!!!

Do you think Hubby will like this V-Day gift?
lovecats85 replied to HeatherGurl's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
ummm yeah, He will LOVE them If he's anything like my hubby he will be exited at the mere THOUGHT of lingerie! -
Actually some places don't knock you out for an endoscopy, some do. Either way they spray your throat with numbing spray and put a tiny camera down your throat.
-
I do it alot - 1-2 times per week since I got my 3rd fill. I'm still debating about this fill.

Hardest behavior for you to change?
lovecats85 replied to Wheetsin's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
chewing SLOWLY and chewing my food to liquid mush,,,, so hard to do when you're hungry and something tastes good. -
I'm long waisted -but if I poke around in my belly button I can feel my port. It's pretty low. I don't worry about it though because I am probably never going to wear a bare midriff!

I have 3 cc's in a 4 cc band. Not sure yet if I need more fill, but doc says it can really hold 5 cc's.

My doc's answer on carbonation....love it!!
lovecats85 replied to Kathy473's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
My doc says carbonation is ok to have, but if I even have one teensy sip my tummy hurts so bad I can't stand it! -
Ok, so I got filled on Thursday and I was doing my day of liquids fine on Friday. This morning (Saturday) I drank some ice tea when I got up and had a smidge of reflux but it went away. Then for lunch I tried mushies (I was at a buffet restraunt taking defensive driving so it was a good chance to try lots of mushies and see what worked) so I had a bite of egg, a bite of mashed potatoes, a bite of ice cream, a few bites of soup, a bite of pudding. Ate lunch fine. Then tonight I decided to have some potato salad (which was a staple for me in the mushy stage after banding) and I got chocked up. Then a few hours later I tried some spinach dip (which was also a mushy staple that I never had any probs with before) and I'm getting choked up. Now I'm eating ice cream and it's soothing. My questions is this, normally I am tight when I 1st get the fill and loosen up a little over time - normally I am also tight in the morning and loosen up at night. So, how long should I wait for this fill to loosen up a little before I get an unfill. Should I stick it out? What should I do?

Anyone NOT a LB success and just living with it??
lovecats85 replied to a topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
Maybe you should take it out and try to lose weight another way. There are several people on here that have switched to a different type of surgery, or who have recommited to live the bandster way, or who have had to have thier bands removed ande are now flying solo but still actively trying to lose. I know for me, no matter how tight my band is, I only really lose when I exersize 5 days per week. -
I have 3.0 and the flouro and Dr Maese say I'm not very resticted - although I would personally like to punch the flouro and Dr Maese in the face since everytime I eat since that 3rd fill I feel pain, and I PB at least once a day. But,,,,,, according to Dr Maese (who refused to unfill me any) I could eat a whole steak right????? Whatever!!! GRRRRRRRR.

I went thru that too - being worried, etc. When you are newly banded your mind plays tricks on you - you think you ate like a cow b/c you had 8 ounces instead of 4 but before your band you'd eat a whole large pizza. You are fine. Just eat what you feel like eating. As long as you are eating mushies and not stuffing it in even after you feel resistance you are fine. I could eat a good 1 1/2-2 cups of mushies sometimes, other times only 1/2 cup. All foods are different as far as how they full you up so you cannot judge it solely on amount. Just eat reasonably and if you are hungry later go eat more. 99% of people have NO restriction before a fill.

I freaked out at the thought of never having bread again before I got banded but now I never even want it. I hardly eat any refined white flour like bread so I guess my cravings have just kind of gone away. I also look at is at something that will easily get stuck so it's not even worth the trouble to eat it. Every now and then I have a bite - like I went to a fondue place and had one peice of bread with fondue and just chewed it to death and it was fine. But really, I never want bread anymore. -
Does anyone here have RLS? How did you know you had it? What do you do to relieve it? Do you take medicine? Over the past 3-4 weeks my legs have felt like I need to keep moving them and when I lie in bed they feel weird - not painful, just like they are annoying me. I don't know why this is. Someone said maybe RLS. Any insight would be appreciated.

I drink coffe, cappucino's, latte's, and all kinds of alchohol. My doc says we can have anything, even carbonation, but carbonation makes my tummy hurt so I dont have it. I don't know what she's saying about the caffeine, but alchohol should be avoided strictly b/c it's high calorie - but whatever, some people induldge in ice cream, I induldge in a margarita from time to time. I had my 1st alchohol drinks 3 weeks after surgery and I was fine.
-
That sounds more like stuckage - I think "restriction" is just feeling like you can only eat a little bit chewed very well and get full quickly. When I get pain like that it's usually stuckage, blockage, etc that usually resolved it self with a burp or time.

Isopure - it mixes clear, tastes so good, has 60 grams protein per serving. At GNC.

I've had it with this fill process, fill doc, fill BS!!!!

Ok, Dr Barker called me back - he is so sweet and nice and he said obviosuly I should wait until the reflux settles to get another fill (Maese wanted to give me another fill this morning!!!) and he said I can go to SCOR or his office and that I should do that if I am unhappy with Maese. He said take nexium, see if it settles, and then get another fill when i feel better if i want. Isn't it nice to have a doc that just answers your ?'s with out any BS like Dr Maese. Dr Barker would never ever be rude to me - he is the best!!! -

thanks so much for the advise! I am thru with Maese! I called surgery center or Richardson and they can do my fills there and bill my ins as a flouro and it's ok b/c Dr Barker does surgery there now too!!! Yeah, no more ObNOXIOUS Dr Maese!!! Ok, So i am just going to wait and see what Dr Barker says about whether I need an unfill or nexium or what. -
I have been debating on whether my new fill is too tight. http://www.lapbandtalk.com/showthread.php?t=13740 And last night I was able to eat a little potato salad and a bit of pasta salad and a few bites of ice cream. I didn't feel any reflux but I woke up this AM with the worst sore throat. How do I tell if it's a sore throat from reflux or just a cold (b/c my nose is kind of stuffed up so maybe I had drainage while I slept). My throat feels raw.
