Ive lost all 46 lbs without exersizing (I walk every now and then but not much). I plan on hitting the gym after I take the bar exam though. I have a feeling that the last 40 lbs won't be easy to get off. Plus, exersize is really good for you!

I have days like Friday when I ate 5 chips with salsa, 1/2 a chicken enchilda, 1/4 of a cheese enchilda and a beef taco for dinner. Then I have other days like last night where I ate 1/2 a kids burger and 5 french fries. My band is weird and most of the time I can eat the same amount but every now and then I have a "loose day" where I can eat alot and eat faster. I don't know how to explain it, but I try to just not worry about it.

I have been at this fill for awhile - could use .2 more probably.

Your opinions needed: Deciding on a Goal Weight (or Range)
lovecats85 replied to NewSho's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
I first set my goal at 150 and then I was like, I didn't even weigh that in high school and I was think back then! So, I changed it to 160, which is maybe 5 lbs less than I weighed in HS. We'll see. I like worrying about my more practical mini-goals, rather than the overall picture. -
The MOST Embarrassing PB ever!!!

Awww, you poor thing. PB's suck! -
1st, I woke up this morning and my port hurts. Weirdest thing. I almost never feel my port but it's sore. Does anyone ever just randomly have port soreness? 2nd, my period is 2 weeks late but like 10 OTC pregnancy tests have said negative. I have an appt with the OB/GYN next week to see what's up. Since I got banded I had irregular periods for the 1st 4 months, but the last 2 months things have been pretty much timely and normal, but now I am late. It's hard to tell if I feel "pregnant" b/c being in law school and now studying for the bar exam, I am ALWAYS tired, moody, nauseated, etc (from all the stress). So, I guess I am wondering if anyone knows if it's possible that I could be pregnant, even though the OTC pregnancy tests have come up negative.

I will ask for a blood test on Wed. I'll give ya'll an update. As far as my port, it's feeling alot better this afternoon. I guess maybe I slept on it funny (or my whole body is just SICK that the Mavericks lost the game last night,,,, I am pretty upset over that!) -
sounds like gas, it's normal. Walking helps.

didn't make my mini goal, but having a NSV anyway
lovecats85 posted a topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
Ok, So I weigh 202 today and I hoped to be in ONEderland. Close, but no cigar. Anyways, I'm still pretty happy being this close to ONEderland. Also, just wanted to share my biggest NSV thus far - I'm graduating from law school at 2 pm today! I'm so happy, I have worked so hard, and I'm just so darn excited! And the best part is, now that I have lost 43 lbs, I will actually let people take pictures of me to remember this day by! -
I go through this same thing everytime I get a fill, so I stopped getting fills. It's too soon after surgery for your body to have worked it all out yet. The 1st 2 months was a mental battle, and just when I got better I got a fill. I probably could use another fill, but I'm not going to get one yet because I hate the expereince of feeling like you feel. I'm still losing at a pound a week so I'm fine with that. Your weight will fluctuate at 1st, especially when you are hardly eating - and there is a reason liquid diets don't work, you fluctuate weight --- the band liquid and much diet is for HEALING. You are HEALING. When you are done healing and you get a rythym things will be fine, I promise! I tracked on fitday.com for 4 months and that really helped. Don't worry so much about your protein, calories, etc. Just forget that, log it on fitday, and eat what you think is sensible, and see what fitday tells you after a few days. You may find that eating sensibly without calculating everything everytime ends up being just what you needed. Hang in there, I promise it will get better. I lost weight the 1st 2 weeks, and didn't lose anymore for 6-7 whole weeks and I was devastated. But, my body worked it out and now I'm losing steady. You will too, you have to give it time. We're always here for you, and I promise more people than you and I went thru this and you'll be fine once you heal and adjust! HUGS!

As far as I know, and I think I researched this issue more than anyone b/c I am terrified of dying, I could not find one case where someone died in lapband. I found 2 deaths from complications afterwards, but it is because the people did not seek medical care. My PCP has a patient who's stomach lining got punctured in band surgery, but she had a good surgeon who knew it happened and she got medical care and was just fine. There is a case of this happening and the woman ignored the symptoms and didn't seek medical care b/c she didn't want anyone to know she had been banded. Point is, you will not die. At worst you will have complications which you will seek medical care for and ultimatley be fine. I was so scared of dying in this surgery b/c I had never had surgery before --- it turned out this surgery was easier than when I had a twilight sleep for a colonscopy! Anyways, I invite anyone else to research and see if they can find a lap band death. I couldn't.

It does show the groups you are in.

Ok, I'm not going to join the LB group on myspace.com. I'm sorry - most people know I had the surgery but I am still in the band closet with a few people and I'm not ready to come out yet. SORRY! But I'm so happy to have all you guys as myspace friends!
-
I love how I have all these myspace friends now from LBT!!!

someone posted about this a few days ago - I cant tolerate carbonation so I dont do beer, but bring on the wine, margaritas, comsos, etc. I drink once a week, 2-3 drinks in one night, I know it's empty calories but I would rather drink than have a dessert and I also just don't care - I'm a generally good bandster but I won't give up the alcohol and if that means slower weight loss than so be it.

Telly = to post pics on comments the code is <*img src*=*www.......com*> when you find a pic on the net left click on it and hit properties and copy the URL address into the code. Take out the stars - I had to put them in there for the code to show up on this board.

Dr. Barker in Dallas - $12,600 - you have to ask for that rate and get it done at Vista Hospital to get that rate - Dr. Barker only goes to Vista once a month or so.
