-
You'll do great. I'm only 6 days out and back at school and work and feeling great and down 16 pounds so when you feel sore tomorrow just remember how good you'll feel in just one short week!

Funny that a fellow bandtser caught sight of this ---- as a newby bandster I have to say this article made me wonder if this could happen to me!! Then my mom and I dicusssed it and she told me about a book called the Immigrants where a little girl ate too much of this swedish pudding stuff and it swelled in her stomach and she died. -
katie homes and tom cruise pregnant

He is so hot and such a good actor but noone likes him anymore. I'm such a liberal but this scientology alien stuff is WAY past me! He is mega-creepy and she's been acting weird too. All I know is he went and pissed me right off with his pills comments. I know people that have had severe postpartum depression - and me personally - well I have severe anixety/panic attack disorder and zoloft changed my life probably as much as my band will. I'd like Tom to have a baby and a panic attack and see how he feels! I wonder if he'll ever have a hit movie again since people don't seem to like him anymore? -

Wowzers!!!!!!!!!!! -
I have staples closing my incisions. Seems like this is abnormal for bandsters. Anyone know why they use one method over another?
-
I forgot to tell you guys that I had my 1st NSV on my surgery day! Along time ago I was watching Dr. 90210 and Dr. Li cut out this small tattoo from this lady while she was under for her boob job and a light bulb went off in my head! B/C along long long long time ago I decided it would be cool to get a tatoo. Well, it's never a good idea to let a 16 year old punk guy with a needle tatoo you but we all know I've grown up since then! So, anyways, long story short - I had the "blob" cut out of my leg while I was getting my band, and I didn't feel a thing! I saved hundreds of dollars on laser treatment AND I won't be embarrassed to wear short shorts when I lose my weight b/c I won't have the "blob" and what's one more tiny scar anyways? Noone will even notice when I look all hot in a bathing suit next summer b/c I'll no longer have the weight or the stupid tattoo!!!
-
I guess I'll get my staples out today. I asked my DH how they do it (like he would know?!?!) and he said with a staple remover like I had at the office that pops em out. Of course I was so tired I beleived this and started to freak out!!! What a mean hubby I have!
-
you are doing great!!!! You could lose another 40 lbs in the next 3 months and be 80 lbs down by the Holidays! I could only wish!!!
-
I'm so sorry - I would be pissed! I only had to do one week of liquids and I was allowed 1 small meal pre-op if I was really hungry. There is no way I could do 1 month of liquids pre-op without a surgery date! On the other hand, don't wait so long b/c you are worried about simply living. I know everyone is different, but I am 6 days out and I feel great and am back to work so you may not take that long to recover. Also, if you are self pay maybe you can find a new surgeon. My surgeon said he could book me in 2 weeks the 1st time I saw him! Good luck! Feel better! Breathe deep and slow!
-
Wy can't we chew gum? I never heard that before. I better be able to - it's the only thing that will combat the rank breath I have since being banded!
-
You WILL be the hottie of the Holiday Party!
-
I go see the doc tomorrow so I will ask. I've been drinking alot more water than 3 ounces - I just don't want to hurt my band but I need water!
-
I am 5 days out and I'm starting to get hungry and not feel full - I guess the swelling has gone down. I am only supposed to "eat" 6 ounces of liquid every 2 hours but I want the whole can of soup - not half, and some water! At this rate I can only have 1/4 can soup and a tiny cup of water. I am losing it! I used to drink 12-15 big bottles of water per day!
-
I'm not even that hungry - i just wanted a little more than the 3 ounces! And I miss all the water I drank - my skin is dry already!
-
I only have 1 week of liquids, then 2 weeks of mush.

Also, I think Dr. Nyguyn (pronounced Win) is in Plano w/ Dr. Cribbens and Dr. Hamm - heard lots of good things about them from my GI doctors. Their site is www.txcenterforobesitysurgery.com -

www.drwbarker.com - He did my surgery - I really like him. -
New here - looking for help/advice (from Texas)

Also, Barker does bypass the regular way and the laproscopic way. And the surgery was in all honesty not that bad. I mean, it's surgery and it has side effects but it was totally managable. -

I consulted with Dr. Cribbens in Plano - He was great but too expensive (I had to self pay). I ended up going with Dr. Barker - I think he takes Medicare. His website is www.drwbarker.com and his office is in mesquite (or very close to it). I had my surgery at Vista Hospital in Garland. I think Dr. Barker is a WONDERFUL surgeon!!!! -
Good for you! Cheers!

I know ya'll are getting anoyed with every other post being from me but since I am in recovery I have nothing to do but surf the web! So, ya'll have answered all my ?'s about eating bread - but can I still eat whole wheat or low carb pasta sometimes? Will it go down ok? I know carbs are bad for weight loss but if it would go down ok I would like to continue to eat the "healthier" pasta from time to time. What do ya'll think? Does pasta go down ok?
-
Well, since my car's name is Rosita I will stick with the Spanish theme and name my band "Bandida" but hopefully she won't be too much of a rascal!
-
5 days after surgery - hope I don't have to go through any metal detectors until I get these out!
-
What about pasta? Pre-band I ate alot of whole wheat pasta - is this ok to have sometimes?
