Thanks Gianak! I'm in the USA in Massachusetts. I will look for the books. I am also trying out the protien drinks in preparation for the liquid phase of things. Little by little and day by day we are getting there! We will both begin our new life on the same day! Best to us both! I'll be looking for you on the site as we go through this together!

Hi I'm waiting as well. My date is Oct 30th. Ihave lots of friends but none I am comfortable talking about this with. I've only told one! I am a little nervous and scared. But know this is the best thing for me. I've tried almost everything else!

Just 27 days to go! Being part of this site has helped me get ready and get a real dose of reality. I am looking forward to this new life change but still I feel scared and nervous. I have tried them all and just don't like me this way. I am worried about what I will and will not say to friends. Hi All, I'm scheduled for Oct 30 to get banded. I am having the same feelings. Scared, nervous,excited and more. This site really helps. It makes me feel normal! It has been a long time coming but all and all I'm ready!

Hi All, I'm scheduled for October 30th for my band. I am having it at Beth Israel with Dr. JOnes. I did have to pay $500 for labs and other stuff, but insurance has approved everything else. I'm a little nervous and hope it all works out. Great to know there are people near by! Hang in there!

Not sure how I got to this point! I thought I could do this with out the surgery but after years of trying I guess I can't. Need to do this so I can be healthyier and live a better life. I guess it is really getting a new lease on life.This takes more courage than a lot of things I do. I am scared and a little ashamed. Many emotions! Even a few tears.

Hi,I had all the pre test work and am scheuduled for October 30th Any advise on how to prepare? Needless to say, I am a little nervous, scared and excited!Anything I should be doing now to make this easier duing and after surgery?
