    Take Time

It has been a long time. so much has happened and I have not even been able to keep track of it all. I did not get to celebrate any of the mile stones I made. Like being on a plan and nothaving to ask for an extender for my seat belt! That was a long time ago! since then I fell and fractured my leg and in a cast. I have been eating like I was never banded and even when it hurts I just keep on eating. My emotional self is completely out of wack and I am not sure what the hell to do. Yes I am feeling really sory for myself and letting those feeling take over. I just hate what is happening and how I am just going backwards. I am feeling very much like a failure and hate this feeling. Okay let'splan to do one thing differently starting now. Everyone says that if you write down what you eat it helps. I have never given that a real try and will try now. Please help your self or no one else can!

failing miserably at this right now!

I am glad it is not only me! I am so out of control that this emotional eating is just taking over. I also just fractured my leg and in a cast and am limited to excercising. I even have been away from the site for a while because I feel so badly about myself. I don't want this to fail and I know it is up to me. I just can't stop eating! I plan on giving my Dr. a call on Monday and talk with the nutritionist. Maybe they can offer some advise. The surgery helped with the physical but it is my emotional self that is not on track! :help::faint:

    Frustrated-HELP!

The band is working but I do have to wrok the band as well. I have changed a few things around eating. I try not to drink any liquids when I eat so I can feel full faster and not worry about food going thru the band faster. I do push my self away but still manage to eat what I want. I had quick lost at first now it is slowing down a lot. I have not had a fill yet so not sure how that will work with me. Remember the band is only a tool that needs your help to make it work. Don't think about dieting think about eating less of what you like and if you can go for a walk it will make you feel emotionally better. Get a good cry in if that helps and then try to just move on. SLow and steady wins the race! Good luck and hang in there!

Sound scary. I hope someone out there can give you some support and advise. Did they say how it happened or why it turned? Hang in there and I a sure it will be fine!
  8. Mine is above the belly button to the left. I'll have a more accurate location once I get my first fill in mid Dec. Wherever it is it dos not seem to bother me or show.

    Feeling Good

My post surgery appointment went well. I seem to have leveled off with the weight lost since I introduce solid foods. I am eating less and very careful about what I eat. Sometimes old habbits just slip in. I have something in my mouth before I realize it. I did better and just have to work on that and only eat when my body tells me it is time to eat. I also have to start exercising. I find that the hardest thing to do given my hair and life style. It would is the only way I am going to make this a permenant lost and change in life style. Food is still a focus point of my life.

    Bidmc

I am at BIDM as well and had my post op appointment today with Kelly. She was very nice and I too like the staff and folks there. I had Dr. Jones and he is great! I have not been to any of the support groups and was wondering if they are helpful? This site has been my support before during and now.

    Not Enough, Really?

This is where I need to be! I had my first post surgery appointment today and was told that I need to start doing some regular exercise. I think they do just get you going by starting you off with a goal of 30 minutes a day. That is what was suggested for me at this point. I am up this morning and ready to go. I use to enjoy walking and will have to get back into it again if I want to see better results. It is hard and the encourgement helps.

    Pre-fill instructions

Thanks for the great site! I have not had my first fill and will not get it until the middle of Dec. I will take this information and use it to help make my first fill a perfect fit for me. I really appreciate all you who share and have come before me. Things are going well and you all make it easier and easier! Thanks:clap2:

    Patterns

It has been an interesting two weeks. I have lost 11 pounds since the band and that feels good. I am a little worried because the urge to eat has returned and I am not sure I have changed any real behaviors in this area. I want this to work because of some of the controls I put into place as well as the tool the band provides! I am thinking about food more than before and that scares me alittle. I ate more this weekend than I did since the surgery. I know a fill will bring back the restrictions feeling I am not sure I felt. I have to include some excercise with this new band. I don't and can't have this be a failure. For Christ sake I had surgery not just a 13 week fast. I have to get my emotions around doing what I need to do to lose this weight. This is my last chance and I can do it!

    Massachusetts Bandsters Chat

Yes, I have the same feeling around what I think is my port. I go for my post opp appointment 11/21 and will ask about it as well. I also notice it when I sleep in certain positions and if I eat too much. I hope this is not the sign of a bigger problem.

    Food too much trouble??

Not there yet, but I can't wait to get there. I still think alot about food. I'm working on it!

    Second fill later today

I have my post opp appointment on 11/21 (banded 10/30). Is it hee where I will ger my first fill? How do they decide if you get a fil? Is it by how much weight you've lost (or not lost). Do you have ot request a fill or is it up to the dr? Just wondering! Thanks:confused:
  20. I did not stick to it that well either. I did do a few days on it and it helped me after surgery. I know what drinks I liked and that was very helpful. My dr. did not weigh me before surgery. Try to do it day by day! Good luck!
  21. Glad to hear you are doing well! How did your body handle the wine? I have not had any yet and would like to enjoy a drink with friends next week!
  22. Hi October Bandster, Just wondering how you are all doing? I am habging in there an d still tryingto learn what normal is for my stomach and eating. I have moved from mushie food to just chewing my food really well. It takes longer and Imust say I am eating less. My stomach is still feeling very tight and beginning to itch at the incisions. The small band aids have not fallen off and I was told they would on thier own. Any ideas for an itchy stomach?

    I Really Did It!

Well October 30th has come and gone. I did it! It was not as bad as I thought it would be. In fact it was pretty easy. The folks at the hospital were great and very supportive. I met two people who also had simalar procedures on the same day. I am still a little sore and wish I did not have to return to work and could really concentrate on me a little more. I am not sure how I will tackle all the eating events to come this week. I am not interested in feeling bad or sick. I kinda miss food and not sure what I can or can not eat yet. I have been taking it very slow and have not introduced any real food. I lost 6lbs in one week. That was pretty incredible. I did tell Carolyn and feel good about that. I still can;t tell my mother and I am not sure what that is all about. I guess I don;t want to deal with how much she really had to do with me making the choice to move forward. She is a greater influence in my adult life than I think she realizes. Jerry has been great and really supportive. I think he looks forward to me feeling and looking better. I am still emotionally confused and not sure what that is all about. I know it will get better and normal will be what I get used to!

    I'm done...I made it

I went through that just before I had my band. I felt like I had to have all the last supers before my band. Don't worry do what you can. It will help if you at least try a full day on liquids before the surgery so you will know you can do it after the surgery.
