First post. I had my sleeve done on June 9th. I spent 2 nights in the hospital. No complications, and actually left with the "record" for most laps walked around the surgical wing for surgery day. I have to say that was the biggest help in my opinion, getting out of bed. I immediately felt gas relief, and got everything moving, including a BM the day after surgery, and the morning I left. I was very excited, Lol. I had my 10 day post op today. I've lost 19lbs since surgery. I was on a 28 day pre-op diet, and have to take Lovenox injections twice daily post-op. I have been in support groups and heard many complaints, and then I would speak up, and let them know it could be worse, you could be me. But, I am very happy with the precautions my surgeon has taken with me because I feel great. I was totally off all pain meds within 5 days and I attribute that to my minimum 1.5 mile walks every morning since discharge. The fluids are difficult to keep up with, but I now am never without water by my side. I start my mushies this weekend. Very excited for a change. I just want to remind everyone having difficulty that it didn't happen overnight for us to get to this point, and it's not going to get better overnight either. One day at a time, and make each day count!
