No BM in two weeks?
Thinkingthinner1109 replied to Jazmundo's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
I am 6 months out and I have to use a laxative suppository it works. Smooth move didn't work for me. . I only go when I use the suppository. Hope it's not like this for the rest of my life. I keep thinking because I don't eat enough but then if I don't go it changes my weight loss until I go then I see a big drop. It's disgusting. -
Well I am sure what you would like to say is nunya as in NONE OF YOUR BUSINESS. do what's right for you. It's the best thing I ever did for myself.

Anyone develop hypothyroidism after surgery?
Thinkingthinner1109 posted a topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
I had the VSG so I would not have health problems. My Bmi was high but I really didn't have any health problems when I had the surgery. I had stage 1 breast cancer about 8 years ago which had not spread and was treated with just surgery, no chemo, no radiation. Been healthy since then other than my weight. I have a family history so heart disease and diabetes, so I chose to have the surgery. I had some blood work done and my thyroid is low. My doctor says my body is still trying to adjust to the weight loss so she is going to recheck the labs in three months. I am tired and my BP drops low and I feel dizzy and have actually passed out. I don't even know what causes hypothyroidism. All I do know is I had this surgery to NOT become sick. -
Anyone develop hypothyroidism after surgery?
Thinkingthinner1109 replied to Thinkingthinner1109's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
Thanks! I will look into that! -
I was on it for 10 days. I am six months out and now it is just a blip on the radar. I was allowed sugar free jello. Not sure if that's an option for you. This too shall pass. So worth it in the big scheme of things! Good luck!

Timing Protein
Thinkingthinner1109 replied to Slimsoon1988's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
My NUT approved me to drink it at one time and then have other protein throughout the day. I am six months out. No problems and my blood work came back excellent. No deficiencies in protein. I use a scoop of Genepro and a scoop of Unjury in 8 ounces of water and its 58 grams of protein. I still eat protein at other meals. No junk. And less than 40 carbs a day. I usually get in about 500-800 calories a day. I think everybody has different rules. ???? -
When did you have bloodwork?
Thinkingthinner1109 replied to chip305's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
My blood work wasn't done until 6 months. It was quite extensive. -
OMG. Guess I'm a statistic...(backsliding)
Thinkingthinner1109 replied to marfar7's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
This is my biggest fear. I am scared to death. I just met my goal and I am so afraid. Good luck to you, you can do it. You have all the right tools and you certainly know how since you already lost a significant amount of weight. I feel like throwing out all yoga and sweat pants so I cannot fall into just putting those on. However I have to wear scrubs for work and those aren't tight so it probably wouldn't work anyway. (Throwing out the stretchy things.) -
Yes!!! I am six months post op too. Went to my doctor she said to eat more complex carbs to bring up my blood sugar and she is monitoring my BP which is running about 105/59 sometimes the top number drops into the 90's. I actually passed out last week when I got up to go to the bathroom. Didn't remember even going down.

Am I out of the woods?...losing hair?
Thinkingthinner1109 posted a topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
Has anyone started losing hair later than 6 months out? So far I have been extremely blessed. I have not lost my hair and was wondering if anyone started to lose their hair after 6 months post op. -

What do you use Torani SF Syrups in besides Protein Shakes?
Thinkingthinner1109 replied to Misty1975's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I have a bunch of unused bottles to. I don't make recipes with them because I would just eat it all. So I do single serving things and I don't use the syrups that's often. Rarely. -

I don't know how to cope with this extreme depression
Thinkingthinner1109 replied to onelove51510's topic in Tell Your Weight Loss Surgery Story
You can do this. Start over from day one after your surgery. Eat like you did then. Get out and walk it will make you feel better. 100 pounds is a great accomplishment!!! Read the threads on depression, talk to your surgeon or NUT. find a church and start going. And most of all you always have a friend in Jesus. Delve into the scriptures. Things will come around for you. -
I am just over six months out. I have had no hair loss. Thank God.

Tall Women, Tell Me Your Story!
Thinkingthinner1109 replied to AshleyMidwife's topic in Weight Loss Surgery Success Stories
I am 5'9 my surgeon did not set a goal for me. I set my own at 150. I had several smaller goals along the way to re evaluate and I am now 147.6. I never thought it was doable either. My BMI is 21 something. Here is my after pic. I don't think I am boney. So it is doable. But you have to do what you feel is best for you. -
So I hit my goal this week. Today my husband and I went to the movies and I ate popcorn. That was at 2 PM Been full the rest of the day and I feel FAT. I HATE MYSELF for eating what I feel is too much popcorn. Know I am going to gain weight whe I get on the scale in the morning, not to mention for the first time since surgery I am not going to get my protein in for the day. Ugh! Not doing that again!! I feel like I need to lose 10 more pounds. I am so mad at myself. Just venting.

Any suggestions for calcium supplements?
Thinkingthinner1109 posted a topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I cannot find one that I can tolerate. I go to look for a new one in the store and I get overwhelmed. My NUT says I can take two flint stones complete vitamins and I am doing good on those just need to start getting the calcium in. -
Feeling really guilty and FAT
Thinkingthinner1109 replied to Thinkingthinner1109's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
Thanks to you all for the encouragement. I really needed someone to tell me it's ok. But honestly I am a type A Personality I follow the rules. Except this time I made that exception. I realize it was one day and I am back on track today. Going to make sure I get in all my protein. Weird thing is I lost .7 pounds again today. I really need to try to maintain without the guilty feeling. -
