Full, lush, wavy, ABUNDANT...
Thinkingthinner1109 replied to CanyonBaby's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
Hahaha! Great! I have not had the same experience. I am not losing hair but I am not growing hair either. Especially in the places it doesn't belong. I take 30000 mg of Biotin a day! I would rather wax it off it does grow where it's not supposed to. But I am nearly 7 months out and haven't had any issues. Good luck! -
So I have heard contradictory stories.....why are we not suppose to drink from a straw?

Thinkingthinner1109 replied to Thinkingthinner1109's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Thanks for the feed back. I don't have any issues with them. I only drink water from straws. I don't drink any carbonated drinks. And I am able to drink a lot more if I use a straw. -
Post-Op Liquid Diet

I like Unjury chocolate splendor. The only other protein powder I use is Genepro. No taste. You can put it in anything hot or cold. No clumping. -

Your experience with hair loss?
Thinkingthinner1109 replied to Goldy6575's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I am 6 and a half months post op. Only normal loss same as before surgery. I lose one or two hairs no clumps. Thank God. I take 30000 mg of biotin a day and started using Nioxin Shampoo, conditioner and scalp treatment. I get all my protein in and take multivitamins and calcium. -
Hubby doesn't understand!
Thinkingthinner1109 replied to kimmerzj29's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I hate it when my husband eats bread. Lol. I don't buy bread at home anymore. He missed it the first few weeks. Now he is ok with it. He still buys huge bags of peanut M & M's and I can hear him chew them. I don't bake for him anymore. I just can't do that. I am below goal so it's not that I can't enjoy a treat every now and then, but I just do t do it. Not worth the calories to me. My treat is popcorn. I love it. The first week after my surgery my husband wanted to go to Red Lobster. Yeah I threw a fit. My emotions were high and I was quite grumpy. My poor husband. I have since recovered from my grumpiness. Haha. He is somewhat better and is trying to make better food choices. He mentions every now and then he is going to be "skinny" like me by next summer. I don't think he fully understands my eating but he is doing much better. I am almost 7 months post op and made goal at about 5 1/2 months. So it does get better!! -
Made goal....now to maintain. Before and after pics.
Thinkingthinner1109 posted a topic in Weight Loss Surgery Success Stories
Well it's been a long, fun, hard road. I have to say during my weight loss stage it was exciting to see the scale go down every single day. I was one of the lucky ones who did not encounter any stalls. God only gives us what we can handle.....I beleive He knew I wasn't strong enough for that. I have been blessed not to lose my hair. The only rough road I had was the first two weeks post op and taking my medications in liquid form. I have to say honestly I would love to keep losing it was that exciting. Now my road begins to learn how to maintain. I am scared to death of gaining anything back although my NUT tells me that a 5pound plus or minus loss or gain is normal. I don't have many before pics I was too embarrassed to have my picture taken. But here is at least one before and a few after. Good luck to all on this WLS I wish you all the best. Surgery date 8/25/2014. HW 289. SW 229 GW 150. Followed my program every step of the way. I never cheated. -

My brother in law told me I was skin and bones (not true) I have heard skinny mini, long and lean, and your wasting way. What does that supposed to mean anyway? The comments don't bother me. I am 5'9 and 146 pounds. I feel great. Yesterday at the Buckle I was trying on jeans. The sales girl bright me a 27 waist. Lol. I said nope wrong size! She says Really?? I asked her how much my husband gave her to bring me those jeans. Lol -
I like my bariatric dr scale better than anyone else's lol
Thinkingthinner1109 replied to kyrickchick64's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
My bariatrics surgeons scale is 5 pounds higher. When I said I hate your scales the nurse told me yeah everybody says they are 5 pounds to high. I laughed and said you would think your scales being int he business they are in should be dead on. No one wants to go to their surgeon and weigh 5 pounds more than you should. Lol. What a downer. Now I weigh at home and I tell my doctors what I weigh. I am not weighing on 4 or 5 different scales. -
I get to go clothes shopping, not happy about it

OP I had to laugh at your post. You might not have meant it to be funny, but your wording made me laugh. -
Only losing 1lbs a day
Thinkingthinner1109 replied to nikki1980's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
You may not hit a stall. I never did. Lost steadily hit goal at 6 months. Not everyone hits a stall. So hopefully you will not either. -
Yeast infection... Is it normal?

When Does the Discomfort Stop

A binder helps with moving and getting up. I wore mine for probably 3 weeks. Made it much more manageable. -
Constipation - I know Im not alone!
Thinkingthinner1109 replied to Photo925's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I am six months out and although I don't feel constipated, I only go about once a week. Sometimes even a laxative doesn't give me any relief. What is colonics? -
Ok I didn't lose any hair.....but.....those are gorgeous how do they attach? Can you inbox me info as to where you got them?

My husband is not attracted to me - 2 weeks post-op
Thinkingthinner1109 replied to marbelvsg's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
I was diagnosed with breast cancer 6 months before my wedding to my husband. I chose to have a double mastectomy to prevent further issues. I talked to my husband and he said get rid of them. Every step of the way through surgery and reconstruction, HE WAS THERE. even though they don't feel real to me. He loves them. Lol. And I have to say with this weight loss surgery a gall bladder removed I am full of scars. He couldn't give a rip! And here is the upside. Since I have implants from the breast cancer, no saggy boobs. So here is my point. NOT ALL MEN ARE IGNORANT. THERE ARE SIME GOOD ONES OUT THERE. No breast augmentation needed. I hope your hubby was just not expressing himself well. -
Two Years, At Goal, Tummy Tuck Complications
Thinkingthinner1109 replied to loseitsoon's topic in WLS Veteran's Forum
Could I ask where in Michigan? I am from mid Michigan and I am considering a tummy tuck. -
The IV cocktail is usually versed. I have had breast cancer with a double mastectomy with reconstruction. I got so used to going under I knew the names of the drugs they used. I love versed and no I am not a drug addict. Lol. It just calms you and it makes you not remember. I don't ever fear going under anymore. They take such good care of you you will be fine.

me either! I am grateful!

Does everyone meet their protein goal every day?
Thinkingthinner1109 replied to downsizingdiva's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
I talked to my nutritionist about that same thing. She said "ideally" you should get your protein in over the period of the day, however is get 58 grams of protein in a shake and I have had no problems. I have lost 140 pounds and no issues whatsoever. No hair loss, no stalls, no problems with drinking or eating. -
Weight loss doesn't stop
Thinkingthinner1109 replied to imk69's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
Never thought I would have the fear of losing too much. But I did have the fear. My goal was 150. I am at 147 and my body says not so much losing. I am 5'9. I am not SKINNY in my opinion. But when I reached goal i add 50 calories if I start to lose too much it will level me off. It is the mind that is playing tricks. I did get a rush when I weighed while losing consistently, I loved to look at the scale and watch it drop. And the fear of regaining scares me to death. So I am very careful. My rule is if I can't figure out how many calories are in something I just don't eat it. I am sure there are some that end up with eating disorders. But if you already have it in your mind that it is a do able thing. You can do it. It is the best thing I have ever done for myself. -

Thinkingthinner1109 replied to downsizingdiva's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
Yes I do! And I have to get my liquids in because if I don't i get dizzy. All is well. Met goal in 6 months lost 140 since I started the process. Protein is so important.
