Help! I'm not getting my water or protein
Thinkingthinner1109 replied to SleeveyLooser's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
If you can order Genepro from Amazon, instead of a huge scoop of protein it is just a tablespoon and has 30 grams, only 4 carbs it mixes with anything and I cannot taste it. I mis it in my protein shake in the morning along with my scoop of unjury and skim milk and my morning protein shake is 8 ounces of skim milk, 1 scoop of unjury a scoop of Genepro and a little powdered sugar free pudding and a few ice cubes to get it cold and it is 59 grams of protein. I almost have my protein requirement in by 7 am before I leave for work. It's awesome. -
Hubby worried I won't love him
Thinkingthinner1109 replied to ma3's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
My husband also seems to be a bit insecure. I tell him all the time he is the best thing that ever happened to me. We met later in life after we had both been divorced and I had been in two violent relationships. I have always told him how good he is to me and he also spoils me rotten. I would never leave him and re assure him all the time. I try to put myself in his shoes and I may feel the same way so I am very sympathic to his feelings and concerns. But I may use the "I don't want to train a new man line as a joke" -
Is this normal?
Thinkingthinner1109 replied to *Lexie*'s topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I am exactly the same way. However I have to put those couple bites in my mouth about every three hours. I am very careful NOT to ever take that bite that will make me sick. Lol I have never had the slides or thrown up. I cannot imagine. So sometimes I stop even if I think I will be full on the next bite. I can tolerate anything I have tried so far so that is a blessing. -

I use Genepro with the approval of my NUT. IT IS AWESOME! Instead of a huge scoop it is just a tablespoon and has 30 grams of protein and 98 calories and I believe it's 3 carbs. You can mix it in hot or cold. I use a scoop of vanilla Unjury, a cup of skim milk, a little sugar free pudding powder I love the banana cream and add a tablespoon of Genepro and some ice cubes mis it in a blender and I get 59 grams of protein in one shake. I drink one every morning then I only have to get a little more protein to meet my goal and it's simple!

HOW DO PEOPLE NOT NOTICE MY WEIGHT LOSS?
Thinkingthinner1109 replied to sherripark's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I heard that you notice first, then family and close friends and then finally acquaintances. Feel good about yourself your doing great. Now people notice and call me skinny. LOL. Which is no where near true, I still have 50 pounds to go. When they finally start to notice and say something they will annoy you in another way by continuously asking "how much weight have you lost?" When I heard a co worker say.....you have lost a half of a person, I quit telling them how much I lost. So believe me it's always something and people can be oblivious! You keep going! -

Lack of Energy Or Just Lazy?
Thinkingthinner1109 replied to HalloweenBaby24's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I get in 80-110 grams of protein a day. I have to work 40 hours plus work at home. I don't think your lazy. Because I have to push myself to work out. I do workout but my NUT said to work out every other day because I was wailing about 5 miles a day and was burning myself out. Caring for 2 (3 if you count your husband) is exhausting in itself. But if you could find at least 30 Minutes a day it would make you feel better. Good luck superwoman! You seem to be losing just fine. -
I am so excited I have to go tonight to get another new pair of jeans that fit! I buy the same style and brand every time as it helps me gauge how far I have come. Lol. So I get to drop another size tonight. Yippee! Just in time for a trip to Chicago this weekend. Scale don't move fast enough for me but drop jean sizes about every two to three weeks. Hoping by Christmas to be in a size 8. That is my goal!

That's awesome! Good job!

Sleeved 9/30 and not want anything but water and Popsicles
Thinkingthinner1109 replied to SleeveyLooser's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
It was very hard for me at first too. I wasn't nauseated, things just didn't taste good. Thankfully my taste came back for the protein shakes or I would be in trouble. Even 6 weeks after surgery I have to supplement with protein shakes. I cannot eat enough right now to get in all my protein. Good luck I hope things get better soon. -

Thinkingthinner1109 replied to ranece's topic in Tell Your Weight Loss Surgery Story
Again glad you had a good experience, I don't believe it is based on health or weight. I did not have any co morbitities and I had 80 pounds to lose and I just turned fifty so I am not really that old. I didn't say anything about someone being scared straight just informed. It's good to read all views. Not everyone has the perfect experience and not everyone has a hard time. But the people that do have problems post questions or their experiences are legit. I am not pissed at all about your experience. I hope you continue to do really well and succeed. -

Thinkingthinner1109 replied to ranece's topic in Tell Your Weight Loss Surgery Story
Glad your surgery went well. I have had a double mastectomy along with an expander that was implanted immediately after my mastectomies to expand my chest muscles for re- Construction. The pain I had from the sleeve was worse. I am not saying I would not do it again. Because it is a very useful tool. The journey is not an easy one for everyone and everyone should be prepared. Not scared just Prepared. We are all different. I wish everyone could have the kind of recovery that you did. That would be great. But it is good for people researching to know it could go in different directions. That is the benefit of these forums. People have all sorts of questions and 9 times out of 10, there is someone else who has had the same experience. It's great! -

When I wake up
Thinkingthinner1109 replied to alyce20's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I eat about an ounce or an ounce and a half. I don't get nauseated when eating or drinking. Only when I wake up in the morning. Not even when I get up in the night for bathroom breaks. It's strange. I asked my doctor and he asked what time I ate and what time I got up in the morning. Then didn't really have an answer as to why all of a sudden it Started. I curious to see what your Doctor says. -

Thinkingthinner1109 replied to alyce20's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Oh my gosh me too! It's only when I wake up and sometimes bad enough I have to take a Zophran. I have never had nausea and cannot relate it to anything I ate. I don't know what is going on. I too will be six weeks on Monday. Please let me know if you figure it out. It is driving me crazy. My doctor does not think its dehydration as I get in lots of fluids and my protein too. Oh and I eat almost exactly the same time every night. About 7:30. -
DOCTOR SAYS I AM EXERCISING TOO MUCH.
Thinkingthinner1109 posted a topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Went for my 6 week check up. I have been so tired but pushing myself to walk at least 5 miles a day, do some strength training some times ride the bike. Apparently I cannot eat enough to sustain that much exercise in a day. I didn't think I would ever hear that, but my NUT said to try and exercise every other day until I gain my strength back. -

I am not in a hurry, it's coming off. I just like to exercise now. I get lots of protein in. I will increase my carbs a bit and see how that works for me. Thanks. -
DOCTOR SAYS I AM EXERCISING TOO MUCH.
Thinkingthinner1109 replied to Thinkingthinner1109's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I have about 40 - 50 pounds to go, before surgery I walked close to 10 miles a day. Now I am so exhausted its hard to get in 5 miles. I am getting a little wobbly and light headed. I feel like I am getting dehydrated but the Dr was not so convinced of that of that. I am about 6 weeks post op and besides the first week have been feeling great except for the last few days when I am just exhausted. I get in over 100 grams of protein. Most of my water too but I have fallen short on water. Idk. But it is disappointing because I wanted to exercise a lot to lose faster. -
How often do you see the dr. after surgery?
Thinkingthinner1109 replied to Calimomof3's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I saw my surgeon 10 days post op then a month from that date and now 6 more weeks. Idk after that, I just wait for my appointment and go from there. -
