Completed First Half Marathon! Thank You, Sleeve!
*Lexie* replied to livvsmum's topic in Weight Loss Surgery Success Stories
Yay, congrats on your half marathon. It really is amazing, isn't it? I ran a half marathon around 5 years ago (before I gained the weight back) and I agree that it ranks up there as one of the top days. I am looking forward to running again and signing up for lots of events in 2015. Reward yourself with a nice medal rack to hold all the medals you're bound to accumulate. There are lots of people out there selling them but I loved mine that I got from Allied Medals. https://www.medalhangers.com -
First bad meal post op!
*Lexie* replied to amysd1009's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I thought the same way when I was pre-op. I was really concerned about being able to eat my favorite foods again. I'm not saying that I don't still love food but I'm not as preoccupied with eating my favorites as I was before surgery. I have had 2 raviolis (pasta) filled with ricotta (protein) and I have tried popcorn. My craving for sweets is gone (good riddance). My primary focus at a month after surgery is eating 60g of Protein so I don't have to drink a Protein shake. I loved Protein shakes pre-op but they give me a tummy ache now so if I can get to 60g with my food, I'm rewarded by not having to drink one. And I'd rather pass up on carbs that get a bellyache drinking a shake. -
Congrats on the size 6, that is awesome.

I have been able to tolerate just about any food so far. Last night I had a half slice of toast with my tuna and was miserable for about 2 hours. Stomach and chest pains and even pain in my back. I won't be trying that again for quite some time. I'm actually sort of relieved that I had that reaction. Bread is a trigger food for me.

I tried a half a slice of toast last night and I was in pain for 2 hours. I won't be doing that again for a while.

I just came out of my first stall. It started about a week and a half after surgery and lasted for 2 full weeks. The good news is that it does end and you will start losing again.

Thank you for sharing. I am still working on emotional eating and am not yet confident if my ability to resist. So I am going to wait until the day before Halloween to buy the candy. We always give it all out every year so no worries about having any left over.

Best of luck tomorrow. It gets so much easier once the waiting is over.

My Bariatric Life "before and after" AMAZING transformation after plastic surgery
*Lexie* replied to My Bariatric Life's topic in Plastic & Reconstructive Surgery
I'm from the US. I was able to view the one in your second post. I am speechless. Please take that as a compliment because I can't even think of the words to express how amazed I am. I'm in that early post op phase where I'm frustrated that it's been 3 weeks and I'm not skinny yet. You have given me something to look forward to. Thank you so much for sharing! -

What a great story! I get an error when trying to view the video, it says it's not viewable in my country. -

Why I am choosing not to share my WLS with the world.

I can sing like Madonna when I'm alone in the car. When other people are around, I sound like Alfalfa. -
The upper GI test. You have to drink barium which is this really thick chalky stuff and they take pictures of your stomach from various angles. It was the worst procedure and honestly, it wasn't that bad. Just didn't taste fantastic.

Congratulations, what a great accomplishment.
