My surgeon requires an overnight stay as well ... to perform the upper GI X-ray study the next morning to check for leaks. Hopefully if you have any complications they will be realized before they allow you to be discharged! I go in for surgery tomorrow at 7:30am!!!

How's everyone doing?? I'm starting day 3 of my liquid diet. Really isn't as bad as I expected. Needed a Tylenol yesterday for headache but better today, and down 4.2 pounds! -

Yes! I'm in central Texas!!! I'm on a 2 week liquid diet ... 3 protein shakes a day, sugar free jello & Popsicles, broth, crystal light, and water.

Welcome!!! I'm new here too. I'm private pay & got all my preop appointments done in 2 weeks, started my preop diet today, & surgery on July 9th!!! Nervous & excited at the same time!!!

My doctor recommends a daily vitamin after I'm sleeved. He mentioned chewable but I just wonder if anyone has taken the gummy vitamins & if those go down well??

Thanks so much!! Glad I asked!! My NUT did say no gummies after surgery!! Same response ... it doesn't contain all the necessary nutrients needed postoperatively. -

Good question!!! I start my preop diet Wednesday for surgery 7/9. I'm eating all my faves one last time. Is that wrong?? I feel like I should 'fill up' before the liquid diet!!! I hope I'm not sabotaging myself!! -

Let me know how it goes!!! I had a quick beach trip planned but now it's ended up being 3 days before my surgery & not sure it's worth going if I must drag so much with me that needs to stay cold for my diet ... milk, jello, popsicles, etc. Have fun & good luck!! -
Anyone asked to be a 'model' for weight loss center?

So the hospital where I have my surgery planned is just starting their weight loss center. I'm scheduled for 7/9!! The marketing dept has called me to ask if I would be interested in letting them take before/after pics and follow my progress ... and possibly use those pictures in their magazine or on the website. Is it rude or inappropriate to ask if they will offer me a discount on the procedure cost as I am private pay??? -
