May Sleevers-What are you eating?
stasonbtff replied to MrsVanderbilt's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I was sleeved May 8th. I have lost 48 lbs. since surgery. I generally, have about 2 oz.of greek yogurt with 1/2 oz sliced almonds for breakfast, this changes daily based on my moods. No morning snack. I eat 2 oz. meat at lunch and 1 oz. veggies. No afternoon snack, although I carry a Protein bar in case I get hungry. dinner is 2-3 oz meat and 1-2 oz. veggies. Occasionally, I may have a evening snack. half a cinnamon graham cracker with PB. I struggle with Water intake also. I try to load up on water in between meals. But, I usually only get about 30-32 oz. a day, if I am diligent. I take a chew able calcium and a gummy Multivitamin in the morning with breakfast and before bed. I had bariatric Vitamin, but I could not tolerate them. -
Where are all my May Sleevers?
stasonbtff replied to sandirufophoto's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I had surgery May 8th. I did not start throwing up till last week. Threw up 7 times. I believe it was the food and/or combinations. Everything I threw up I had had before but not in the same amounts or combinations. For example, I had a turkey, provolone, spinach wrap, all of which I had separately and fine. But together, no, didn't work well. Came back up within a few minutes of the first bites. Maybe it was the combinations, eating to quickly or perhaps new foods that didn't sit well. I haven't traveled very far since my surgery, I don't know if that would effect your digestion process or not. Hopefully, things will go back to normal for you soon. -
When eating, air/bloating in stomach?
stasonbtff posted a topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I have noticed since the first day after surgery, every time I eat or drink a meal, I get air in my stomach. Sometimes it is painful. Most of the time, I have to stop and wait to burp. So unladylike! When I asked my NUT about this she said eat slower and take smaller bites. Any smaller and they will be crumbs. Does anyone else have this problem? Solutions? -

Post op 2 months and still don't eat much
stasonbtff posted a topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I am 2 months post op, and on regular food. The Doctor and Nutritionist say I should be eating close to a cup of food at each meal ( 3x a day) and one small snack. I can only eat about an 1/4 of a cup for Breakfast, 1/2 to little over a half at lunch and not quite a half at dinner, no snack. Has anyone else had this problem? -

Does anyone have ideas for a good tracker app for a smartphone? I have looked at several, but i would like one that tracks calories, protein, water and fitness. Any ideas? Thanks -
HELP Scared only lost 5lbs in a month.

If you are working out that much, it could just be you are gaining more muscle. Muscle weighs more than fat, that could contribute to your weight increase. Do you keep track of how many inches you have lost? That would be a good way to know if you are still losing with out actually losing pounds. -
My Story with Gastric Bypass
stasonbtff replied to stasonbtff's topic in Tell Your Weight Loss Surgery Story
I did have the Gastric Sleeve, I just didn't add that in the title. -
Hi everyone! My Story is pretty boring. I had thought about weight loss surgery for years, but figured I could lose the weight on my own. I mean I gained it on my own, it should be pretty simple. My husband and I were high school sweethearts, we married when I was still in high school (2 weeks left) He had graduated the year before. I am 5 "4 and I weight 145. A decent weight for my height. i was involved in many sports. After high school I stared a sit down job, but kept eating like when I was an athlete. Soon I started gaining a little weight. But my husband was fine with it. the next thing I know I weight over 200 lbs. I could not even believe this happened, and when?! I tried so many, many diets, some with results that never lasted long, others didn't work at all. Next i know I am pregnant. I quite worrying about weight and concentrated on my baby. A few months after her birth, I weighed 230. Again, the diets started, gain then loss, gain then loss. I shot up to 280. My brother was in college at this time and he lived with us in the summers and on holidays. He was majoring athletic training/sports medicine and a minor in nutrition. While he was home, he made a structured diet and workout plan for me. It worked! I was down to 240, and doing well. But, once he graduated and moved out. I maintained for awhile but then shot back up to 272. Finally, a friend had the sleeve surgery. I had never heard of it. She talked about and I hee hawed around about the surgery for 2 years. By, this time my daughter was 15, and I could tell she was somewhat embarrassed of my weight. I finally looked into the surgery seriously in August of 2013. My surgery was May 8, 2014. I am a little over 1 and 1/2 months post surgery and I have lost 45 lbs. so far. I am at 217. It has been over a decade maybe tow since I have weight this little. I have a ways to go still. At first, and still I have a hard time, especially with the Fluid and Protein intake. But, I am getting there. My husband and daughter have been amazingly supportive and sometimes harsh, to get me motivated, to exercise. It is exactly what i need some days. I only wish I would have done this surgery sooner. But, my daughter and me are having a great time clothes shopping for me. Again, something new for us. I was so embarrassed before I only bought clothes on clearance or rummage sales, and never in front of my family. So there is my boring story of my journey so far!
