I actually cashed out an old 401K that wasn't doing much. I refused to go into debt again. Debt was one of my food triggers. Just the stress of it. to each their own.

Janed...... He had no problems finding mine with the pillow under my back. It's good to use the pillow because it pushes the port up. You will do fine and he is great at his job and has a very enjoyable personality which eases any jitters!! Good Luck!! Tell him Marion M. sent you!!! -
I actually eat mostly the exact same foods I did pre-band. I don't eat out very often anymore , just because i'm trying to save money, was self pay. The only difference is that now I eat about 1/3 of my meal. I choose quality over quantity....like i'd rather have 2 pieces of fish than 2 pieces of bread. I have never really been a bad eater just ate HUGE quantities of food. My goal for every meal was "what can i eat that will give me the MOST food with the least calories?" Now, i eat less no matter what it is.

I take it with the band. Yes you do have to be very careful. I have had a few accidents with it and it is not fun. It does help me to alter my eating because I know what could happen if I don't. It does give you gass & if you 'gamble' and don't it out on a toilet bad things. Just be careful. Use it with caution & you'll be fine.

I was banded in Mexico. Dr. Patel with Texas Bariatric Specialists has a location there in Austin. I go to him here in San Antonio. He is awesome and very knowledgeable. He did my first fill with no problems at all. Here is the link. Weight Loss Surgery San Antonio, Austin, Houston, Corpus Christi - Texas Bariatric Specialists Good Luck Marion -
Hi Mes. Can you give me the web address to the Hawaii support group? Thanks
-
Yes. I do this. I used to be very very bad. It runs in my family. The funniest times would be when we would scare the poopey out of eachother. I remember my brother dropping a huge ladle full of chili on my mother's kitchen floor when I startled him!!! It went every where, she was PISSED!!! I am a night owl too. I go to bed late and if I eat dinner early then it seems that i get hungry and go to the fridge. A way for me to stop this is eat dinner about 3 hours before I know I will fall asleep. I usually am out by 1 am. So, I eat dinner around 9. I am not a Breakfast person so I eat lunch around noon. eat something small like a lean cuisine around 5, then a real dinner around 9. If I don't follow this I'll end up eating a package of sandwich meat without knowing it. Remeber to just plan your dinner 3 or so hours before you go to bed. It will stop all of it. Another thing I would do is count the calories I ate towards my next day. So, If I eat 400 calories of ice cream the next day will suck without food. Hope this helps. Or you could just do the fridge pig thing....lol.

Sufficient Restriction? What do you fill?
-
Yep. ........i'm smoking too. It's worse at night when i'm hungrier. One thing at a time I say. Get a normal BMI, then quit smoking.
-
For that information. That all makes sense. What would you describe the feeling you have when you are eating if you are sufficiently restricted? Thanks Marion

New pain/left side/ 9 days post op
made1977 replied to bandster_1007's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I'm 10 days out now. However, on day 8 I had the same feeling. I thought maybe I'd done something bad the night before during "fun time" with my boyfriend. I just couldn't sit up straight. It seems to have gotten better today. I just don't feel right when I sit kinda hunched over. If I sit up very tall it seems to go away. Wish we had more experienced people to answer this for us. -

HI ALL........I'm Marion. I'll be banded in Monterrey on Oct. 19th. Just wanted to get my name on here. Wish you all the best!!!!! -
Laura, I'm not sure about the Doctors here in Austin but I tried to go through True Results and they were inadequate, disorganized & extremely lacking in knowledge. I'd avoid them. Marion
