(Warning! Lady issue!)Women!?! I need help!
iwhit replied to estrob85's topic in Tell Your Weight Loss Surgery Story
Same here....hadn't had a period in months before surgery. After surgery, I had my period for 2 months straight until it was somewhat regulated with provera. -
Hello, I am looking to get a wristband type tracker but see so many reviews in the fitbit, fuel band, jawbone, and garmin. I wanted to see if you can give me your experience with any of these or any others. Appreciate it...thx.

I ended up getting the misfit shine and so far very happy with it. The distance accuracy seems pretty right on. I compared it to treadmill reading. It's very comfortable and like that it's waterproof (50m)

Thx for your opinions

Congrats to you. I dealt with the nausea...not fun but once it was gone it hasn't come back since. Hope you feel better tomorrow.

Not sure it really has affected the actual sneeze but what happens after definitely is not my normal. It's almost like a vibrating of the insides in my abdominal area that keeps shaking until it settles...usually about 15-30 seconds.

Hello, I got sleeved on Monday 8/11 and my soreness has gotten better each day. Today is the first day that I am not in much pain when I sneeze but I'm getting this weird wiggly shaky feeling in my stomach area when I sneeze that lasts for about 30 sec after I sneeze. I tried to look up and see if anyone else has experienced this and find nothing. I'm wondering if it's my muscles like a muscle spasm type thing or is it my actual stomach. It takes a while for it to stop. Anyone experience this? Thx for your input.

I was sleeved on 8/11 and had terrible nausea until yesterday when I came home from the hospital. I definitely was regretting it at the time but when I felt better, although still very sore, I still feel like I made the right decision.

Thx guys...so I'm feeling 90% better than yesterday. I am no longer nauseated and can drink water without terrible pain. I did get a patch for nausea behind my ear so I probably feel better because of that and time. I've had a bad history with the anesthesia and nausea. I really asked myself why did I do this and was regretting it since I was so miserable but tried to remember the words of those on here who said it would pass. I know I'm not out of the woods yet but definitely feel a whole lot better.

Thanks to all of you. Well, the surgery went well but since then has been really rough for me. I was supposed to leave at noon today but couldn't due to my nausea which is causing me to vomit any liquids :-/ so hopefully tomorrow is the day.

I lost 5% and I was cleared..I think as long as you're showing progress, you'll be ok.. Tomorrow is the day for me...super nervous and many things going through my head today. Hopefully I'll get some sleep tonight.

I have not found out about the pre op diet yet but I'm sure I will get more info during my pre op appt Wednesday. Do you know who your surgeon will be at west LA kaiser? I'd really like to know if they select the surgeon or if you have a choice? I'd like to do some background checks to make sure they're well versed in the sleeve surgery. Is that what your having? Thank you for all your info and I wish you the best of luck ! Pls post whatever if any pre op diet they make you do. I'm having my option classes at woodland hills Kaiser sept 19th. So guesstimating you took 5 months. Maybe by February of next year I'll have my surgery.!! Best wishes- DebbieYes, I believe you have a choice because when I had my appt cancelled I would have been able to change surgeons if I wanted. If you request another facility that isn't in your "area" then those that are local to that facility get priority over you. This is how it was explained to me.Yes, I'm getting the sleeve. The pre op diet is to have only liquids the day before and then nothing after midnight...that's it. Was the September 19th class the next available? The program is very informative. There were probably 6 out of the 20 in my class that changed their mind. I feel like they really give you an idea of what you're getting yourself into and gives you 12 weeks to really think about your decision. Although I was 100% sure I wanted surgery at the beginning of the class, about midway through I really questioned if getting the sleeve was the right thing for me. By the end of the class, I knew I was making an informative decision to get the surgery. Good luck to you!

I started my option classes in mid March. My surgery will be done at the West LA Kaiser. I'm sorry your classes are disappointing. Hopefully it will pick up a little. They should be following the material somewhat that has a lot of info. Our classes had a nutritionist and a behavioral therapist alternating weeks. The class discussions helped a lot too so hopefully you have a good group.

Hi Susan909, Sorry it's been so long since I updated. I ended up getting an appt with the surgeon 2 weeks later from the original appt. After my consultation, I was told to wait for a scheduler to call me to give me a surgery date. I waited a few days and heard nothing so I called and she said there was a waiting list but she was kind enough to give me a date. My date is September 10th which is way later than I was hoping but what can I do. She did put me down on the cancellation list so there is a small chance it could be earlier but I'm planning on the September date. I do feel better that at least I have a date so I can plan accordingly. How are your classes going? Hopefully when you're done, your location won't have as long as a wait mine does.

Susan909, My appointment that was scheduled this morning was canceled. I got a call this morning that the dr called out and to call for another appt. the earliest was in another 2 weeks. This is not good news for me. I work for a school district so I was trying to do the surgery ASAP so I can recover before school starts again. I asked about getting referred somewhere else. They said the the wait time for surgery at West la was 7 weeks anyway so they are referring me to South Bay since it is supposed to be the shortest wait time. No I haven't tried unjury yet. I am going to order a variety of sample packs and see if I can tolerate any. I tried Isopure and the taste shocked the crap out of my mouth so I am really scared to even taste anything else but it's got to be done.

Hello, I live in the San Fernando Valley so I took my options classes at the Panorama City Kaiser. I will definitely let you know how my appointment goes. At this point I think I'm more anxious. I am excited because I know this is what I need to do for myself but sometimes doubt myself. I am worried about being nauseous and vomiting after since that has been my last 2 experiences with anesthesia. Once I find a Protein that I can tolerate then I will feel more confident that I can do this. Have you heard anything good or bad about any of the surgeons at West LA?

I began option classes in March, finished at the end of May. During that time I had a doctor's visit, lab tests, EKG, and X-ray. After my last class I got a clearance appointment scheduled for the following week. Once I got cleared, I was told that it would take about 2-3 weeks to get referred but I was called the very same day I was cleared. I was referred to the West La Kaiser which took a couple days to get a call for a consult with the surgeon which is this Thursday, June 26th. I'll find out then what day my surgery will be scheduled. Hope that helps a little. It seems like everything has gone pretty smooth and quick so far. Good luck to you.
