sfeiner, I do join you in praying for those who do not know God. To each of us he has given a measure of faith. He has given it to them as well. Yet, they choose not to believe. He is not a God who will force himself on anyone. And in that day every knee shall bow and every tongue shall confess that He is lord. I have enjoyed reading all the posts; so inspiring and just lets us realize that we are flesh and we are weak and vulnerable to the things in the world, but we are not of the world. He rose with all power in his hands. We have access to that power too. Just knowing that he is mine, makes all the difference in my day.

ldysunfyre, did you just call them to ask if they covered the procedure, or has your surgeon submitted the request? I understand that it is a case by case procedure with them. I am still waiting. I had called last week and was told that a decision would be made within 30 days. Friday will be 30 days.
-
LapBandFan, Your request has already been heard. When you speak, know in your heart that God has heard you and by faith you are believing that He will do the things that you ask of Him. I am waiting for insur approval for my procedure. It has been almost a month. I have contacted the insurance company and they said that a decision would be made with in the 30 day period. Next Friday, 14th, will be the 30th day. I also asked them if they were needing anything else from me. No, she said. There are no notes on your case. The case is working. So, I will wait. I have been getting better at waiting lately. Relating my experience with Habbakuk. God told him that the things he had asked for would slowly but surely come. Not a moment too soon or a moment too late.

Query: Proper Interval Between Eating And Drinking

Rainer, awesome job with the weightloss!!! I'm still waiting. But I am not giving up!! -
I am sorry to hear that your friend had passed away from an infection. No doubt there are serious risks with any kind of surgery. We must speak up and be heard when it is our health that is at risk. Arm ourselves with knowledge and if we do not get the response we want, seek it somewhere else. Be encouraged with knowing that she is being cared for now.

How long does the pre-op diet last? Do you only use liquids?
-
tomecia25, great news. Good luck! I am still waiting for approval. But, I have not lost hope. I know that it is part of a "process". Just like my decision was to have the surgery.

sosobizi, My BMI is 38 and I do have other co morbidities (I hate that word) But I am really looking forward to this new step in my life. My husband supports me 100%, but I am doing this for me because I am worth it.

want so bad, That is the best advice. Take one day at a time.

Weight loss surgery insurance secrets Ebook
deez9 replied to Nightlily's topic in Insurance & Financing
Sounds greek to me, too. The previous insur policy I had with my job also did not have the weightloss surgery benefit. If my employer would have chosen it, it would have cost them more to have the benefit and more for me to pay for it weekly. I think now more insur companies are paying for the surgery through individual plans. There are advocacy groups for obese patients who are denied insurance benefits.(In the gray area, this is illegal) However, I do not do ebooks either. -

HI CASSIE: Keep a positive attitude. Even through the pain. Listen to your doctor and your body. It will take time to heal physically, but your attitude plays a role in it also. 21 pounds!!!wow!! Hoping that you are doing much better today. -
coo, Amen. I feel you. I could ask why people feel the way they do about weightloss surgery(especially the ones who feel like we don't deserve to have it) why we don't have a right to use whatever tools necessary to promote our own health and happiness. I'll bet we would not get a justifiable answer.

I have not been a very active person. Have you found that you want to exercise more now since having the surgery? -
You already are a winner!!! Don't let anyone do or say anything to bring you down. It is sad but true that your family can be your worst enemies. But not all. Be your own cheerleader. You deserve to feel your best and be your best!!!

Congratulations! I guess slow is the best word now. How long did the procedure take to do? How is your discomfort level? -
I took my 165 question computer test on 10/26/07. Boy, was I glad to get that over with. The frustrating part about this is that I have scheduled the next to the last thing (hopefully) that I have to do before the surgery. My psych eval. The earliest that I can get it is 11/30/07! My anxiety level increases everytime I think about it. I was tempted to go ahead and pay for it myself and have it done sooner so that I can get scheduled for the surgery sooner! But the psych eval costs $160. With insur it is only $50

Call your insur co to get that answer. Some co will not cover procedures due to "pre-existing" conditions(depending on the insur and your benefits) until maybe having coverage for 6 months. Your insur co can only answer that for you.

Insurance Co. requires 6 months of documented medically supervised wght loss plan
deez9 replied to 2boys3cats's topic in Insurance & Financing
Yes. When I got the call, the girl in charge of submitting the paperwork to the insur. said that I needed to go ahead and have my psyche test and computer test. I have already made an appt for that. She said that they have what they need in my med chart. -
