Looking for July Sleevers!
NavyMom6 replied to fearnot's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I've had headaches also, my surgery is July 9th.. I did slip one day and had 2 sugar Cookies. I told my husband to take a picture of me now. I look at that and then I come here and read about people and how wonderful they feel, it gets me back on track.. Good Luck! My doctor said it is because people are dehydrated, but that was not the case for me. They went away eventually, but I only took Tylenol because I was told that one was okay. It helped a little but not my migraine meds. I red that the sleeve can actually reduce migraines looking forward to that. Just hoping I don't fail miserably on this liquid diet because I am really struggling. I want to change my life, have energy, be a more active more, and not feel like my life revolves around food. I hope God gives me strength through this process. -

Hello Fellow Navy Mom.. Add me as a friend if you like.. My Son has been in since 2008.. He is a E-5 now and a MA.. He is stationed in San Diego and was just Married in February.. What about yours?... When are you having surgery? Mine is July 9th and I'm happy , nervous, scared.. I guess every emotion I am feeling it...On the prep phase now and it sucks.. The first 2 days were the hardest.. I broke down and took 2 migane pills for the headaches... I'll be telling my Dr that Monday morning.. Worse of all.. I severly sprained my ankle on the 4th.. Another thing to tell him.. Hope they don't postpone it.! -
So glad you put this on here.. It really helps knowing what to expect.. Thanks!

Thanks for sharing.. It's so helpful knowing what to expect.. I need to re-read what to do and eat and drink the first week.. I'm so nervous and keep asking myself if this is the right choice.. So glad you are home and on the way to recovery. How many days did you stay total in the hospital? Your activity level seems so high. I hope that's the same for me. -

I am having sleeve surgery July 9th.. I started my liquid diet today and the lack of caffeine is really effecting me today.. I hope gaining the weight back is not as easy as the women you mentioned in your statement. Good Luck on your surgery and pre-diet drink.. -
I'm having Gastric Sleeve on July 9th.. I start my protein shake diet tomorrow.. This is the first time through this whole procedure that I have actually been nervous.. I've even said a few times to myself. "What am I thinking" Then I go right back to wanting it done. Is this normal?..

Nervous before Surgery Normal?
NavyMom6 replied to NavyMom6's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
The only other thing I'm really worried about is, I'm taking a 9 day vacation to visit my son and his new wife in California.. He is stationed there. My husband and other 3 boys are coming along.. We are meeting her family for the first time as they are flying in from Germany.. My Dr. says I will be fine, I did ask about it on here.. A few responded and said just stay hydrated.. I been walking already trying to get ready. Any other advice?.. ps.. My Sons are 25,21,19,16, So I won't have to take care of them, I just want to be able to keep up! -
Nervous before Surgery Normal?
NavyMom6 replied to NavyMom6's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Wow! Thanks to everyone for your responses.. I did throw my scale at home away.. From what I've read they say don't worry about the scale and knowing me I would.. That is so awesome on your weight losses.. I am looking so forward to the day I am below 200 pounds.. I'm 6ft tall and people tell me you don't look that heavy, but my bones and health which includes Diabetes and Blood Pressure, I sure can feel it.. I've never joined a support group before but I sure am glad I did.. -

Thanks so much.. That makes me feel so much better.. I was worried when the surgery date ended up being so close to the vacation I already had bought and paid for.. My Sons in the Navy and got married and we are meeting the families for the first time from Germany, so it will be non stop activity! -

Vacation after Gastric Sleeve Surgery
NavyMom6 replied to NavyMom6's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Thanks for your information.. I did talk to my surgeon.. He said he thinks I will do fantastic.. I'm 6ft tall and 125 pounds over weight.. I do really good on walking now.. My lower back aches and my knees will hurt.. But other than that and going up hills, I do very well.. I just hate the thought of postponing surgery, seems I'm always postponing weight loss.. I've never blogged before so I thought it would be a perfect time to ask some other people about their experiences Thanks again... .
