JULY 2014 SLEEVERS GROUP
NavyMom6 replied to SMED0308's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Happy to report the nausea is gone.. I called and got some meds that melt on my tongue.. I went thru a whole day of being sick and finally started to feel a little better.. Today I feel alive again!.. I got to eat a whole 2 TLBS of Malt O Meal.. WOW!.. Still having gas but the Gas X Strips really seem to help.. Going for my 1 week post op today.. Haven't been on a scale since surgery! I am so sorry for you. Hopefully they provided you something for nausea. I was told it is pretty common, but lucked out not having to take the meds I bought. Super small sips might help. I was so used to gulping. There is no more gulping. If you didn't get something for the nausea, I would ask ASAP. -

Hello Fellow July Sleevers! I was sleeved July 9th.. I have my 1 week post op today. I don't feel like I've lost weight, but surely I have..I did lose 15 pounds on my pre-op diet... Today I was able to have 2 tablespoons of Malt O Meal.. It never tasted so good..Tonight I'm going to have 2 TBLS Tomato Soup, I'm really looking forward to it.. I really don't feel hungry, but I'm going to follow what my Drs. says.. I'm still having pain in my left side where the drainage tube was.. I felt full of energy this morning, that was a first for me. I'm actually doing some laundry.. I'm still experiencing a lot of gas.. I suppose that's normal.. I been using Gas X strips which really seem to help.. God Luck to everyone and a New Happy Healthier You! -

For some reason the milk based Protein Shakes are not agreeing with me.. Think I will check out the Isopure Protein.. I'm like you, I been living on broth and greek yogurt and sugar free bomb pops(my fav).. I did mix powered Protein with my yogurt.. I have my 1 week post op tomorrow.. When was your surgery? I don't feel like I've lost weight.. I don't even feel hungry.. I'm going to try tomato Soup for dinner and I've never been so excited about it.. haha Hey there. Glad you are feeling better. Hope the nausea has gone. My first week after I had to choke down Isopure clear protein. They wanted me to get 40 grams of protein so that was like getting one down. I hated it. I would have died without the broth, sugar free Jello, and sugar free Popsicles. For week two I've gone to the milk based protein drinks. The Premier Protein has been good. I think they want me at like 60 grams of protein now. Two of those takes care of it. I've also had some Greek yogurt and cottage cheese. My mainstay has still been the broth and Popsicles. Get the best you can buy. It's worth it. Hope you continue to feel better. -
Sick to my Stomach.. Normal?
NavyMom6 replied to NavyMom6's topic in Tell Your Weight Loss Surgery Story
I can't drink Water still.. I had the sleeve on July 9th.. I'm still having gas pains.. Lots of burping and seems to linger in my chest. But I have to say today is my best day.. Greek Yogurt is going down good.. My 1 week post op is tomorrow.. I'm still sore, especially in my left side.. I'm looking forward to eating healthy and finding all the new great Bariatric recipes out there! -
I had my surgery on July 9th and came home July 10th.. All day on the 10th every time I drank Water I would throw up and have dry heaves.. It feels like the water weighs a ton.. I'm having a lot of pain in my chest, I suppose that's gas... Has anyone else experienced this?.. How long will it last? Thanks!

My Dr. just called in some nausea strips for me.. I sure hope it helps.. I did take all your advice on Crystal Light and I have been sipping on it all morning.. It's actually staying down.. I keep getting horrible gas in my chest.. I started using the Airlife plastic thingy they sent home with me to breath in and it helps a lot... It's so nice to hear what people are going thru, it seems to all be the same thing.. I was beginning to think something was wrong.. I did lose 15 pounds on my pre-op diet which really shocked me.. I didn't think I lost anything.. I still don't feel hungry.. Do any of you feel hungry? -

Seems like that's the last thing I should be thinking about.. But a girl still wants to look as cute as she can!. I feel like there is a happy ending to a long struggle.. My Son told me it will all be worth it in the end Mom.. I wish good luck to all you sleevers today and tomorrow and the future.. "A NEW HAPPIER HEALTHY YOU" -

THANK YOU THANK YOU THANK YOU... It's so amazing what words can do to a person.. I'm getting ready to pack and go to the store and buy some things.. Do you have any advice on what I should buy?.. To get me startd.. I think I'm overwhelmed and I can't think straight.. You are gonna be just fine. I was the same way just last week. I was excited and freaking at the same time. The only advice I could offer right now is: 1. Try to relax and think about the final outcome. 2. Get up and walk as absolutely soon as possible. If you feel like you can make another trip down the hall, DO IT! I really think it helped my recovery. There were two others that day that had surgery. I think I was in the middle. I left before them and never saw them up. I did hear nurses tell the they would feel better sooner. I think I did. 3. Don't wait until the next day to get meds. I was prescribed the Tylenol with Codeine, and a few for nausea. Luckily, no nausea, but the Tylenol DID help me sleep and nap. 4. You're gonna be exhausted, so rest well, and walk around the house. -

I am also having surgery July 9th.. Are you a mix of emotions like me?.. I hear stories about people who gain all the weight back and keep thinking if that's going to happen to me.. I have to think more positive.. We can't set ourselves up to fail.. Good Luck!!! Stay Positive.. I too am on July 9th. And have the same fear of this not working. I have failed at everything else! -
