Wow...that is a lot on one plate. I haven't been where you are as I'm just starting my WLS journey and I can only share what has worked for me when I have been overwhelmed. Pick one thing. It sounds like you are trying to do everything at once and that may not be doable given that full plate you are balancing. Maybe this week focus on nutrition and don't worry about exercise, and next week focus on exercise...just my two cents. I know you can figure out what works for you...being in a master's program and all

AM I the only one on this forum that has had surgery in the last 6 months and is having TROUBLE WITH WEIGHT LOSS?
4me4them replied to JewelJ's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Hi JewlJ, You are an amazing woman! You are battling your own illness/pains, taking full time care of your husband, and working to improve your health....you have a very full plate. I can tell you that you are NOT the only one on the forum who is not losing weight...and I am so sorry for your frustration (consider yourself hugged). Take a deep breath....and then another. Your body is under so much stress right now, and maybe it just can't cooperate. Check in with your NUT to make sure there haven't been any misunderstandings about what your program should be at this point....and then follow the program. Maybe make a pact with yourself that you are not going to weigh for a couple of weeks so that you can relieve that stressor from your life...your body will release the weight when it can. -
Welcome! This is a great place to meet folks who are either going through the same thing you are or have already been down the road...I fall into the first category...just getting started!

Pre op surgery weightloss
4me4them replied to Kpar909956's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
HMMMM from what I can tell on here, not all insurance companies require a 3 or 6 month supervised weight loss program (mine DOES require a 3 month one that I'll start on 07Jul)...and there seems to be lots of variability between surgeons as well. Perhaps you should just come right out and ask at your next class....that way there aren't any surprises when you least expect them... -
10 wks post op..down only 20 lbs :-(
4me4them replied to re14768's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
So frustrating I can't say I know what you are going through because I'm just starting this journey...but I will say keep at it....20 down will turn into 25 down will turn into 30 down....if you don't quit! You can do it! -
DOWN 55 lbs in 4 mos!
4me4them replied to wigenie40's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
YAY! Congrats and thanks for posting...I am just starting and have had trouble with plantar fasciitis for a couple of years...I'd been wondering if it might get better....thanks for giving me hope! -
Is this even possible?! Frustrated!
4me4them replied to 2blessed's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
OMG I would share your frustration...but don't let it derail you...maybe you'll skip 20 altogether and go right to 18...how cool would that be? -
I can't tell you it gets easier because I'm not there yet...just starting. But I can say remember why you wanted to do this in the first place and maybe things will settle for you when you get home...not much help I know...but I wanted you to know someone cares....hang in there! Beth

Blogs...do they make you more successful?
4me4them replied to Junebug36's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
I'm really just starting my journey towards WLS...first apt with surgeon and NUT is on 07 July. I decided to do it so that I would have a complete record of what I was thinking at each stage so that when I hit a stall, or get down I have something remind me of why I did it. I also have not told a lot of family yet, but if/when I do, I can share the blog with them as a way to bring them up to speed on the journey....plus sometimes I just have to be snarky and writing it gets it off my mind... -
Thanks for sharing! I'm just starting and I like reading about people who are having success...gives me something to reach for!

Yay you!

Hey that's on my top 50 reasons to have WLS...I think it is number 6...congrats!

Thanks for sharing! As someone just starting the journey, I read every success story I can find...it helps me keep the focus on the destination. Beth

So sorry to hear of your setback...but that is all it is...a speed bump in the road towards what you want. You will get there...don't give up! Beth
